Spiritual guru Sri Sri Ravi Shankar has introduced a new cooking fuel method that uses just half a litre of water. His latest idea, which surfaced online, has sparked major interest for its eco-friendly and health-conscious approach.

Sri Sri Ravi Shankar Unveils Water-Based Cooking Fuel Alternative

In a now-viral video, Sri Sri Ravi Shankar speaks about the innovation and credits Mahesh ji for creating the method. He says, “Mahesh ji ne ek naya cheez laaya hai. Paani se kaise coal jalaa sakte hain? Adhik aadha litre paani se.”

He explains how hydrogen is extracted from water to burn coal, eliminating the need for gas cylinders for up to six months. He adds that this will first be implemented at the ashram. He says, “Machine hydrogen ko oxygen se alag karegi” and explained that while oxygen is released into the air, hydrogen is used as clean energy.

He also sheds light on health risks from traditional gas. “Jab hum roti uske upar sekte hain to vo kaali ho jaati hai. Isse cancer hota hai,” he warns, highlighting the dangers of carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide emitted from burning methane gas in cylinders.

This water-powered fuel leaves no carbon emissions, making it a pollution-free option. He claims it’s a sustainable and safer solution for homes across India: “Hawa shuddh ho jaati hai.”

The project is backed by the Art of Living Foundation, which Sri Sri founded in 1981 after parting ways with Maharishi Mahesh Yogi. He now plans to take this innovation across villages in India. He adds, “To Indian economy ko boost milega. Sabko apne health ke liye accha khana milega.” Their goal is to replace millions of gas cylinders with a greener, cleaner, and cheaper fuel source.

Ravi Shankar On 70-Hour Work Week

Apart from this innovation, Sri Sri also recently spoke on the ongoing 70-hour workweek debate sparked by Infosys founder Narayana Murthy.

He said, “The spiritual leader disagrees with the idea that working longer hours leads to better outcomes. “It’s not about how many hours you put in, it’s about how mentally present you are during those hours.” He likened overworking without balance to a poorly maintained vehicle. “If you keep driving the car without oiling it, it’s bound to break down.”
