A controversial political poster shared online — purportedly by Congress supporters — has triggered sharp reactions from BJP leaders, sparking a new round of verbal crossfire ahead of the ongoing election season.
BJP IT Cell Head Amit Malviya took to social media to strongly condemn the imagery used in what is being referred to as the “Congress Gayab” campaign, alleging that the visual hints at “Sar Tan Se Juda” (beheading) slogans and indirectly targets Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The Congress leaves little doubt with its use of “Sar Tan Se Juda” imagery. “The Congress leaves little doubt with its use of ‘Sar Tan Se Juda’ imagery. This is not merely a political statement; it is a dog whistle aimed at its Muslim vote bank and a veiled incitement against the Prime Minister,” Malviya tweeted.
He accused the Congress of engaging in dangerous and divisive politics, and claimed that Rahul Gandhi has previously instigated and justified violence against the PM, referencing past remarks.
Malviya added that while the Congress attempts to stoke hatred, the Prime Minister continues to enjoy the love and blessings of millions of Indians. He concluded his post with a stinging metaphor:
“Proverbially speaking, if anyone’s neck has been slashed, it is the Congress — now reduced to a headless hydra, flailing without direction.”
The controversial poster and Malviya’s sharp response have since gone viral, triggering a fresh debate on the limits of political satire, freedom of expression, and hate speech.
As of now, no official clarification has been issued by the Congress party on the matter.
