India, China hold 18th round of military talks on LAC issues

To end the military stand-off between India and China that has been going on for the last three years, the military officials of both the countries have held the 18th meeting on Sunday. This meeting has taken place between commander level officers. This meeting was held between the army officers of the two countries at the Chushul Moldo meeting point in Eastern Ladakh sector.

Defense sources told news agency ANI that Fire Fury Corps Commander Lt Gen Rashim Bali spoke in the meeting on behalf of India, while Chinese army officers of the same rank attended the meeting. This meeting is being held between the two countries after a gap of five months. Earlier, the Corps Commander level meeting was held between the two countries in December last year.

This meeting has taken place at a time when both the countries are putting a lot of emphasis on construction in the areas adjacent to the border, so that they can further strengthen their position on the border. In this meeting, India has been raising the issue of Depsang plains, Demchok and retreat of both the sides.

This conversation of the Corps Commander level was started to resolve the issue of East Ladakh, where the Chinese Army tried to change the Line of Actual Control on the border. During this, a large number of Chinese soldiers with weapons tried to come to this side of the LoC. This attempt was made in 2020 in the early stages of the corona virus.

However, soldiers from both sides separated after the face-off and moved to new points. So that the face off can be ended. In the conversation, officials from both sides have agreed that they will continue talks through military and diplomatic channels.

Not only this, efforts will be made to find a mutually acceptable solution on this issue from both the sides as soon as possible. However, no haste is being shown from the Chinese side to find a solution to this matter. China has blocked Indian patrolling in Depsang Plains for the last several months.
