In West Bengal, there has been stone pelting on the Vande Bharat train once again. The incident is of Dalkola station where stone pelters targeted the New Howrah-New Jalpaiguri Vande Bharat Express on Friday (January 20). The train was passing through Dalkola station when suddenly a stone was hurled at the C-6 coach, causing cracks on the windows. Actually, this is not the first time that Vande Bharat Express has been targeted in West Bengal.
Passengers of Vande Bharat Express told that a loud sound was heard near Dalkhola which took everyone by surprise. After this, information was given to the RPF officers present in the train. RPF officials have started action by registering a complaint in the matter. A passenger told that around 4 o’clock there was a loud noise and there were cracks in the front glass.
Stones were pelted on Vande Bharat earlier also
Earlier on January 2, for the first time, a case of stone pelting on Vande Bharat train came to light in Malda, West Bengal and a day after that on January 3, a case of stone pelting on Vande Bharat train from Darjeeling came to light. The country’s seventh and West Bengal’s first Vande Bharat train was started from December 30 last year. However, since then three incidents of stone pelting have come to the fore.
PM had shown the green signal
On 30 December, Prime Minister Narendra Modi flagged off the state’s first Vande Bharat train in the presence of West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. The PM had said on this occasion that India had resolved to start 475 Vande Bharat train in the Amrit Mahotsav of the country’s independence. Today, Vande Bharat train connecting Howrah to New Jalpaiguri is starting in this episode.
