Israel Advisory: An advisory has been issued to all Indian nationals in Tel Aviv by the Indian Embassy.

Nationals are advised to stay vigilant and adhere strictly to all safety guidelines that are issued by the Israeli Home Front Command and Authorities.

The Indian Embassy also urged Indian nationals to avoid all forms of non-essential travel to the Middle East country.

Why Was The Advisory Issued?

The Indian Embassy’s advisory was issued as nationwide protests continue to escalate against Ayatollah Khamenei’s regime in Iran.

The Islamic Republic of Iran has threatened Israel and the United States against any kind of misadventure. In Iran, more than 12,000 people are believed to be brutally killed by the regime’s armed forces.

On Wednesday, Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi had a word with Indian External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar. The two discussed the prevailing situation in and around the Middle East country.

Earlier, India had issued urgent advisory urging citizens of India to avoid any form of travel to Iran until further notice. It also urged those already in Iran to exit the country using available commercial flights on an immediate basis.

In another development, the Indian Embassy in Tehran had advised nationals of India to leave the country at the possible earliest opportunity. It was reiterated by the advisory that all citizens of India and Persons of Indian Origin (PIOs) should observe a high sense of care and diligence. It also said that they should avoid areas of demonstrations or protests, monitor local media for any new developments and stay in constant touch with the Indian Embassy in Iran.

Indian Exports: The merchandise exports of India surged 1.9 percent from $37.8 billion a year earlier to $38.51 billion in December 2025 despite hefty tariffs by USA and defying global headwinds.

The surge in exports was chiefly driven by double-digit export growth in key markets like China and the UAE.

Indian Exports-Growing Numbers

Commerce secretary Rajesh Agrawal said the merchandise exports in December grew by 1.86 percent despite global turmoil from $37.8 billion to $38.51 billion.

Interestingly, shipments to the United States rose approximately 10 percent year-on-year to $65.88 billion in April-December 2025 from $60.03 billion in the corresponding year a year before. Agrawal noted that exports to the United States grew on-year in the first 9 months of the fiscal year. Agrawal added that India would cross $850 billion of exports in the present financial year.

SC Ralhan, the President of Federation of Indian Export Organizations (FIEO), remarked that India’s performance was encouraging given the global trade flow volatilities. Ralhan added that the surge in exports reflects the effectiveness of NDA-led government initiatives that are focused to support MSME exporters and boost exports.

The FIEO President added that the country’s exports performance assumes significance against the backdrop of ongoing supply chain realignments, geo-political tensions, rising protectionism and inflationary pressures across major economies.

The latest NITI Aayog’s latest Export Preparedness Index report has revealed that Maharashtra emerged as the top-performing state followed by Tamil Nadu and Gujarat. The report underscored the dominance of manufacturing-heavy and coastal states in exports landscape of the country.

One of the most surprising performers was Uttar Pradesh. It was followed by states such as Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka and Punjab. Odisha, Bihar, Jharkhand, Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh were identified as “aspirers” by the fourth edition of the Export Preparedness Index (EPI) 2024 report.

While he stepped out to cast his vote, a brief exchange with the media soon sparked fresh discussion around the Marathi versus Hindi language debate in Maharashtra.

After voting, Aamir spoke to photographers outside the polling booth. He encouraged people to come out and vote and praised the arrangements made for citizens.

The Sitaare Zameen Par actor first shared his message in Marathi. However, when some media members asked him to repeat it in Hindi, his reaction quickly became a talking point. Aamir Khan smiled and said, “Hindi mein? yeh Maharashtra hai, bhai.” His remark immediately drew attention, especially given the long-running language debate in the state.

When the media pointed out that his message would also be broadcast in Delhi, Aamir repeated his appeal in Hindi. He said, “Yahan par Nagar Nigam ne bahut achha intezaam kiya hai. Main sabse kahunga ki aap aaiye aur apna keemti vote zaroor daaliye. BMC ne bahut achhe intezaam kiye hain. Saari cheezon ka intezaam kiya gaya hai. To aaiye, please vote kijiye.”

Iran Protests: Iran’s Ayatollah Khamenei regime has halted the executions of 800 protestors under White House pressure. United States President Donald Trump made this claim after pulling off from military action against the deadly crackdown of Tehran on demonstrations.

The Islamic Republic of Iran has reopened its airspace after a closure of approximately five hours. According to a notice on the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration website, the Iranian airspace was closed to all except international flights to and from Iran with official permission on Wednesday at 5:15 p.m. ET (2215 GMT).

According to tracking service Flightradar24, the airspace closure notice was removed before 10 p.m. ET, or 0300 GMT. Five flights from Iranian carriers Yazd Airways, Mahan Air and AVA Airlines were among the few firsts to resume flight operations over the country.

Election officials have rejected all of the claims that were submitted as being unfounded. 

The final results of the election are expected to be completed soon, and if the exit poll predictions accurately come to fruition, many political analysts believe a majority of BJP members may lead to a new direction in the civic governance of the city of Mumbai and a change in the way resources are prioritised for the needs of the city and its residents. He said, “When I went on the show, I saw the Gen Z audience and thought I’d give them a message in their language – to not have unprotected sex and use condoms. I thought I’d speak in the language they will understand better, the way they watch OTT content and movies.”

However, Honey Singh admitted that his choice of words did not go down well with many people. He accepted that the message was misunderstood and ended up hurting sentiments.

He said, “Lekin woh bhasha kaiyon ko bahut buri lagi. Main aap sab se maafi maangta hoon jinko meri who bhasha buri lagi. Mera kisiko thes pahuchane ka koi maqsad nahi tha. Insaan ek galtiyon ka putla hai.”

The rapper further assured fans that he would be more careful in the future. He added, “Main koshish karunga aaj k baad aisi galti dobara na ho. Main apni zubaan pe niyantran rakhunga jab main koi baat bolunga aur kisko bolunga, kis tarah bolunga.”

Yo Yo Honey Singh also claimed that the viral clip was edited and shared without proper context, which added to the outrage. He ended his video with another apology, saying, “Aap sabse maafi. Aapka apna Yo Yo Honey Singh, isi tarah pyaar dete rahiye.”

Walking barefoot while reciting prayers, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann on Thursday bowed before Sri Akal Takht Sahib as humble Sikh, devoting the entire day to the supreme temporal seat of the Sikhs. Appearing before the Jathedar Sahib at the Akal Takht Secretariat, the Chief Minister offered a detailed clarification on his earlier statements, reiterating that he stands as a humble Sikh with complete faith in the authority of the Sri Akal Takht Sahib, accepts every decision taken by it, and has no question whatsoever of challenging or undermining its supremacy.

Interacting with the media after his appearance at the Sri Akal Takht Sahib Secretariat, CM Bhagwant Singh Mann said he had personally come in compliance with the directions of the Jathedar Sahib. “As per the orders of the Jathedar Sahib, I appeared here as a humble Sikh and submitted my explanation in response to the queries raised. Sri Akal Takht Sahib is the supreme authority for the entire Sikh community, and it is supreme for me as well,” he said, adding that the Jathedar Sahib had recorded his statement and that further action would be taken after consultations with the Singh Sahibans.

Reaffirming his complete respect for every decision of Sri Akal Takht Sahib, the Chief Minister said, “I will abide by every decision of the Jathedar Sahib. My appearance here has given me immense contentment, inner peace and satisfaction.”

He categorically rejected the narrative being created by inimical forces about any alleged tussle between Sri Akal Takht Sahib and the Punjab government, calling it “totally false.” “There is no question of challenging or weakening the authority of Sri Akal Takht Sahib, which is supreme for all the Sikhs. The domain of my government is crystal clear, to work for the progress of Punjab and the prosperity of its people,” he said.

Declaring himself as Punjab’s sewadar, CM Bhagwant Singh Mann said he would leave no stone unturned for the well-being of Punjab and Punjabis. “I perform ardas daily for the chardi kala of the state. My head bows before every religious place even at a single glance. It is impossible that any action of mine can be against the state or its people,” he said.

The Chief Minister said that as an advocate of the sentiments of millions of people, he had submitted 25,000 to 30,000 pages of complaints, to the Jathedar Sahib. “These complaints reflect the emotions of people who have flagged various anomalies in the functioning of the SGPC. I have humbly requested the Jathedar Sahib to get these complaints investigated, as the feelings of millions are attached to them. Institutions are always supreme while individuals heading them can err, Such individuals deserve no leniency for their misdeeds,” he added.

The Chief Minister asserted, “Every order of Sri Akal Takht Sahib is acceptable to me. It is the highest temporal body of the Sikhs, and my family and I abide by it fully,” he said, expressing gratitude to the Jathedar Sahib for presenting him with two important books related to the Sikh Rehat Maryada and the Gurdwara Act.

On the constitution of the Special Investigation Team (SIT), CM Bhagwant Singh Mann clarified that it was not a political move. “The SIT has been constituted solely to trace the missing saroops of Sri Guru Granth Sahib ji. Its mandate is strictly confined to tracing them so that they are not misused,” he said. He added that he had also sought the intervention of the Jathedar Sahib to direct the SGPC to provide the unique codes assigned to each saroop published by it, to facilitate tracing of the missing saroops.

CM Bhagwant Singh Mann said the Punjab Police and the state government would trace the saroops and inform Sri Akal Takht Sahib and the SGPC about their location, ensuring further action strictly as per Rehat Maryada. “The police have already been instructed not to enter the premises of religious places where the saroops are traced,” he said, adding that the Jathedar Sahib had informed him that prior to 1998, the printing of Sri Guru Granth Sahib had been carried out at several places.

The trailer, unveiled on January 15, offers a clear look at the film’s war setting and shows how the Indian Army, Navy and Air Force come together during a major military conflict. Online users feel that Sunny Deol has been overused with loud and overacted lines that feel disturbing.

What’s In Border 2 Trailer?

The trailer is filled with dialoguebazi, gunfights and blasts. Sunny Deol appears as Lt Col Fateh Singh Kaler, who leads the 6 Sikh brigade on the battlefield. In one of the key moments, he explains what duty means to a soldier. He is heard saying, “Fauji ke liye border sirf nakshay par khinchi hui ek lakeer nahi hoti, balki ek wada hota hai apne desh se…”

Alongside the war scenes, the trailer also shows personal moments from the lives of the officers. Varun Dhawan plays Major Hoshiar Singh Dahiya. A short scene shows his wife Dhano Devi Dahiya (played by Medha Rana) worried about his safety. He reassures her before leaving for duty.

Diljit Dosanjh is seen as Indian Air Force officer Nirmal Jit Singh Sekhon. His character is shown preparing for risky air missions. Sonam Bajwa plays his wife Manjit Sekhon and their scenes focus on the emotional cost of being in active service. Ahan Shetty appears as Indian Navy officer Lt Cdr MS Rawat, with Anya Singh playing his wife. His track brings attention to naval operations during the conflict.

Runtime Of Sunny Deol Starrer Sequel

As per a Bollywood Hungama report, Border 2 has a runtime of around 200 minutes, or roughly three hours and 20 minutes. The film is yet to receive its censor certificate, and the final duration may change after the censor board review.

Directed by Anurag Singh, Border 2 is inspired by events from the 1971 Indo-Pakistani War. The film focuses on stories from all three wings of the Indian armed forces and features characters based on real-life officers such as Major Hoshiar Singh Dahiya and Flying Officer Nirmal Jit Singh Sekhon. The film is scheduled to release ahead of Republic Day.

Continuing its decisive push towards modern, citizen-first governance, the Bhagwant Singh Mann-led Punjab Government has taken another major step to transform public transport by approving the procurement of Digital Electronic Ticketing Machines across state-run bus services. The initiative reflects the government’s clear focus on leveraging technology to make everyday public services more efficient, transparent and convenient for citizens.

The introduction of Digital Electronic Ticketing Machines marks a significant upgrade in the way passengers access bus services in Punjab. With this reform, commuters will be able to purchase tickets using multiple digital payment options, including QR code-based payments, UPI and card-enabled transactions, along with offline modes. The system has been designed to minimise waiting time, reduce dependence on cash and ensure a smoother travel experience for passengers across urban and rural routes alike.

A key feature of the new ticketing system is its focus on passenger convenience and journey planning. The machines will be GPS-enabled, allowing live tracking of buses, visibility of nearby bus stops and real-time information on available services along various routes. The facility to check seat availability and manage journeys more efficiently will further enhance the reliability of state-run bus services.

Importantly, the Bhagwant Mann Government has ensured that its flagship welfare commitments remain fully protected under the new system. Free bus travel for women will continue without interruption, in line with the government’s policy. Women passengers will be issued smart cards to avail free travel seamlessly, reinforcing the government’s emphasis on dignity, safety and ease of mobility for women. Students will also be provided smart cards, which can be recharged online through a mobile application, making daily travel more accessible and affordable for young people.

The smart card ecosystem introduced under this initiative will allow citizens and tourists to travel on Punjab Government-run buses with ease. Smart cards can be recharged digitally through a mobile app, reflecting the government’s effort to integrate public transport with modern digital infrastructure and provide a hassle-free experience to commuters.

Transport Minister Mr. Laljit Singh Bhullar said, “From an administrative and governance perspective, the Digital Electronic Ticketing Machines will significantly strengthen the functioning of the Transport Department. Real-time monitoring of ticket sales and bus movement will enhance revenue transparency, reduce manual intervention and improve accountability. The availability of accurate digital data will support better planning, informed decision-making and more efficient deployment of buses, enabling expansion of services through the addition of vehicles to the existing fleet.”
