According to Sacnilk, the film opened on a disastrous note. It earned Rs 0.60 cr net on Day 1 (Friday). On Day 2 (Saturday), collections improved to Rs 1.40 cr net, reflecting a jump of over 130%. Despite this rise, the two-day total stands at Rs 2.00 cr net.

While the growth looks strong in percentage terms, the overall figures remain low. For a Valentine’s weekend release, expectations were noticeably higher. As a result, many industry observers are calling it one of the weakest starts of 2026 among mainstream Hindi films.

Occupancy data paints a similar picture. On Saturday, the film recorded an average occupancy of around 19.6%, a clear improvement from 7.8% on Friday.

Morning shows saw limited footfalls. However, attendance gradually improved through the afternoon and evening. Night shows performed better, supported by Valentine’s Day crowd. Even so, the film’s overall occupancy remained below the levels seen by competing releases.

In comparison, O Romeo remained much ahead during the same day. The Shahid Kapoor starrer crossed Rs 20 cr net within two days, dominating screens and audience attention. This sharp contrast highlights the uphill battle faced by Tu Yaa Main.

Trade analysts note that occupancy below 20% on a Saturday often signals weak word-of-mouth traction. As the weekend ends, weekday collections will become crucial for the film’s survival.

Tu Yaa Main trails far behind larger releases, but it is not the weakest performer of the year. Despite its poor start, the film has done slightly better than Neena Gupta and Sanjay Mishra’s Vadh 2, which struggled to attract audiences after release. Still, Tu Yaa Main firmly sits among the lower tier of 2026 box office performers so far.

About The Film

Directed by Bejoy Nambiar, Tu Yaa Main is an official adaptation of the 2018 Thai thriller The Pool. The story follows two social media influencers – wealthy “Miss Vanity” (Shanaya Kapoor) and aspiring rapper “Aala Flowpara” (Adarsh Gourav).

What begins as a romantic getaway soon turns into a nightmare. The pair becomes trapped in a drained swimming pool with a deadly crocodile. The film blends survival drama with themes of class divide and digital fame. The cast also includes Parul Gulati. The production budget is estimated at approximately Rs 20 crore.

Critics appreciated the film’s unique concept and visual treatment. However, several reviews pointed to pacing issues, particularly in the first half. Some viewers also felt the romantic build-up lacked urgency.

Several factors appear to be affecting the film’s performance. The most visible challenge is its clash with O Romeo, which secured wider screen counts and stronger buzz. Additionally, Tu Yaa Main features a relatively fresh lead pairing. Without a major star pull, the film depended heavily on strong word-of-mouth from Day 1.

According to Sacnilk, the film opened on a decent note on Friday. It collected Rs 8.5 crore on Day 1. On Saturday, the Vishal Bhardwaj directorial recorded a 44.12% jump, earning Rs 12.25 crore. With this, O Romeo’s total net collection in India reached Rs 20.75 crore.

Despite the jump, it remains much behind Shahid Kapoor’s blockbuster Kabir Singh, which had collected Rs 22.71 crore on Day 2 alone back in 2019.

The film recorded an overall Hindi occupancy of 23.26% on Saturday. Morning shows started slowly at 10.24%. However, footfalls improved as the day progressed. Afternoon occupancy rose to 22.13%. Evening shows climbed further to 26.79%. Night shows performed best, peaking at 33.87%.

This steady growth suggests positive word-of-mouth in select regions. Valentine’s Day celebrations also helped boost evening and night attendance. Still, trade analysts stress that weekday collections will be crucial for the film’s stability.

Alongside the box office update, another issue grabbed attention – BookMyShow’s review section. Many users noticed that ratings and reviews were disabled for O Romeo. The move quickly triggered discussion online.

Reports indicate the action followed a court order. The decision was reportedly taken to prevent organised negative campaigns against the film. While such steps are uncommon, they are not entirely new.

About The Film

Akshara Singh addressed Jyoti Singh’s Rs 10 crore maintenance demand without hesitation. She said the request was justified and stressed that a husband’s financial responsibility cannot be ignored.

She said to PTI, “If you marry a woman and take her into your home, it becomes your responsibility. It is a woman’s right to receive alimony, and that is absolutely justified. It should definitely be given. Whether she asks for Rs 10 crore or Rs 20 crore, I feel even Rs 100 crore may be less compared to what she has endured. Even Rs 100 crore would not be enough. So I believe it should be given, and society should come together to ensure she receives it.”

The case reached a key moment during a hearing at the Ara Family Court on Feb. 11, 2026. Jyoti Singh appeared before the judge in person. Pawan Singh did not attend. His legal team cited health issues, including high blood pressure.

According to courtroom details, Jyoti Singh gave an emotional statement. She told the court that although she had been married for seven years, she had not received the status or steady financial support of a wife for nearly five years.

Jyoti Singh formally asked for Rs 10 crore in maintenance if reconciliation fails. However, she also expressed her wish to save the marriage. She reportedly told the court that repeated absences and financial uncertainty left her with no option but to seek legal protection.

Her lawyer, Vishnudhar Pandey, said Jyoti Singh has no independent source of income. He added that her public identity as Pawan Singh’s wife has made it difficult for her to work in private sectors.

Earlier media reports from late 2025 claimed Jyoti Singh initially sought Rs 30 crore. The revised Rs 10 crore demand is now central to the proceedings.

Pawan Singh’s Alimony Case Under Legal Review

The matter is being heard under Sections 24 and 25 of the Hindu Marriage Act. These provisions deal with interim maintenance and permanent alimony. The court has prioritised reconciliation efforts before taking any final decision. The next hearing is scheduled for Feb. 24, 2026.

Meanwhile, Pawan Singh’s legal team has challenged the claims. They described the Rs 10 crore demand as exceptionally high. The defence argued that any financial settlement must be based on the actor’s verified financial position and legal findings.

Jyoti Singh’s written application reportedly includes serious allegations. These include claims of physical abuse, verbal harassment, and accusations that she was forced to undergo abortions twice during the marriage. These allegations remain under judicial examination.

The Family Court at Arrah Civil Court continues to monitor the case. The court has emphasised that due process, proportionality and evidence will determine the outcome.

Well, Rajpal Yadav has not been released from jail. The viral video is not new. It is an old clip from 2018. Back then, the actor was released after serving time in a cheque-bounce case. He had spent nearly three months in custody. The conviction was linked to his failure to repay a Rs 5 crore loan taken to finance his film Ata Pata Laapata. The case involved bounced cheques and legal proceedings under the Negotiable Instruments Act.

In 2026, Rajpal Yadav is once again facing legal trouble. He surrendered on February 5, 2026, and is currently lodged in Tihar Jail. The matter relates to a long-running Rs 9 crore cheque-bounce and loan default case.

On February 12, 2026, the Delhi High Court denied his immediate bail plea. Justice Swarana Kanta Sharma noted that Rajpal had repeatedly failed to honour settlement commitments over several years. His legal team has since requested interim bail. They cited a family wedding and partial repayment of dues. The next hearing is scheduled for February 16, 2026. The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Punjab on Friday hit out at the Congress after Congress leader Gurkirat Singh alias Kalu was reportedly caught consuming heroin in Batala and booked under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act. Responding to the development, AAP Punjab Chief spokesperson and MLA Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal said the incident has exposed the Congress party at a time when Punjab is fighting a decisive battle against drugs.

On this, AAP Punjab Chief Spokesperson Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal said, “Gurkirat Kalu is known as a close associate of senior Congress leader and former Deputy Chief Minister Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa, and photographs of the two have also surfaced. Congress leaders keep giving lectures on everything, but their own people are being caught with drugs. This exposes the real face of Congress.”

The AAP Punjab Chief Spokesperson stated that while Congress attempts to question others, its own leaders are repeatedly coming under the scanner in drug-related cases, raising serious questions about the party’s internal accountability.

Reiterating the Punjab Government’s zero-tolerance policy against narcotics, Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal said, “The AAP government has launched a strict war against drugs and no one will be spared. Whether big or small, whoever sells drugs or consumes drugs will face action. The law will take its course.”

AAP Punjab said the Congress must answer why leaders holding important positions in its organisation are repeatedly being linked to drugs and demanded accountability from the party leadership, asserting that the people of Punjab deserve clarity and responsibility from those seeking public trust.
