Strait Of Hormuz: Opens with Strings Attached, Would Ceasefire Talks Failure Mean Bloodbath Again?

Strait of Hormuz: Ship-tracking data from Kpler, Lloyd’s List Intelligence and Signal Ocean has revealed that only 7 ships passed via the strategic Strait of Hormuz in the last 24 hours against a daily flow every day of about 140 ships. They included 6 dry bulk carriers and 1 oil products tanker.

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps of Iran told vessels to sail via Iranian water around the pivotal Larak Island. This development happened as IRGC has planted naval mines in the usual shipping lanes of the strait. Ships have been advised to enter north of Larak Island and exit just south of it until further communication is issued by IRGC.

Strait Of Hormuz Updates

Ambrey, a British maritime security firm, issued a warning that risks still persist for vessels that have not been authorized by Iran, especially those with Israel or USA affiliations. In another development, Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) CEO called on the Islamic Republic of Iran to open the strait unconditionally.

Toll Demands And Crypto Payments

According to several media reports, Iran would be charging a transit toll of $2 million per vessel. Tehran is likely to demand Cryptocurrency payments for retaining control over the Strait of Hormuz during the 2-week ceasefire period.

The UN’s International Maritime Organization condemned the tool and remarked that no international agreement allows transit tolls via international straits. It added that Iran’s toll could set a bad precedent. Ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz would be required to pay $2 million for every trip that could increase the final pricing of oil across the globe.

In another development, US President Donald Trump has warned Iran not to charge tolls. Trump added that Tehran is doing a poor and dishonourable job and also commented that this is not the agreement that we agreed upon.

Filmmaker Sandeep Reddy Vanga has sparked a fresh debate online after praising Dhurandhar: The Revenge. His strong comments defending the film have divided social media, with several users criticising his views.

Vanga recently watched the film along with Prabhas at a theatre in Hyderabad. Soon after, he took to social media to share his opinion. While he called the film “outstanding”, his remarks on critics and propaganda triggered backlash.

Sandeep Reddy Vanga Faces Online Backlash For Praising Dhurandhar 2

In his post, Vanga strongly defended the film against claims that it promotes propaganda. He also criticised those in the industry who mocked it.

He criticised writers and actors for building their careers on propaganda while the industry stayed silent, and said it was unfair that the same people are now mocking Dhurandhar. Vanga also questioned why “truth” is being labelled as propaganda today.

He further cautioned Aditya Dhar and Ranveer Singh about negative attention around the film, suggesting that dealing with it would not be easy. Vanga ended by calling Dhurandhar 2 The Revenge an outstanding film.

However, his post did not go down well with everyone. Many users criticised Sandeep Reddy Vanga and questioned his statement.

One user wrote, “Sympathy gaining tweet. He knows the trick – Talk like andhbhakts and be in the good books of them to get free promotion in hindi market.”

Another commented, “Nowadays proving deshbhakti is appreciating Dhurandhar.”

A third user said, “I challenge you, Vanga. Do you mean, demonetisation shown in the movie, is that the truth? Can a fictional movie be labelled as TRUTH? Shame on you.”

One more added, “Tune toh khud semi nudes, controversy aur misogyny dikha dikha ke career banaya hai, toh tujhe toh bakhoobi pata hoga careeer kaise bante hai..”

Another netizen tweeted, “Apna aur Prabhas ka career bachane k accha tarika hai..Troll the Bollywood and attract the RW audiance for SPIRIT.”

Dhurandhar 2 Success And Vanga’s Upcoming Film Spirit

Despite the online debate, Dhurandhar 2 The Revenge continues to perform strongly at the box office. The film, directed by Aditya Dhar, has crossed Rs 1600 crore worldwide. The first part had already earned over Rs 1300 crore, making the franchise one of the biggest commercial successes in recent times.

The film features a strong cast including Sara Arjun, R Madhavan and Akshaye Khanna, along with Ranveer Singh in the lead.

Meanwhile, Vanga is busy with his next film Spirit, starring Prabhas and Triptii Dimri. The film is currently in production and is expected to be released on March 5, 2027.

The project also made headlines earlier when Deepika Padukone, who was initially part of the film, stepped away due to scheduling issues. Reacting to the situation, Vanga said that he fully trusts an actor when he narrates a story and expects that trust to remain unspoken, like an informal NDA. He added that the incident revealed the kind of person Deepika is and also criticised what he described as unfair PR tactics.

LSG Tames KKR in Last Ball Thriller in IPL 2026, 5 Reasons Why SRK’s Kolkata Knight Riders Have Failed to Register a Win This Season

In IPL 2026’s Match 15, Lucknow Super Giants made an amazing comeback, beating Kolkata Knight Riders by three wickets in the last ball at Eden Gardens. KKR chose to bat and set a target of 182/4. Ajinkya Rahane scored 41 runs off 24 balls, and Angkrish Raghuvanshi scored 45 runs off 33 balls. Rovman Powell and Cameron Green also contributed to the team’s success. LSG fell to 104/5 while chasing, but Ayush Badoni’s tough 54 and Mukul Choudhary’s unbeaten 54 off 27, which included seven huge sixes, changed the game. The visitors won thanks to Digvesh Singh Rathi’s cheap 1/25.

After losing to the Mumbai Indians and the Sunrisers Hyderabad, as well as a game against the Punjab Kings that was called off because of rain, SRK-owned KKR is still looking for their first win.

Reason 1: Weak batting partnerships

Rahane said after the SRH loss that early promise, like racing to 78/1 in six overs, goes away without middle-order glue, which leads to collapses that hurt totals.

Reason 2: Bad decisions by the captain

Choosing to bat first against PBKS in cloudy weather led to quick runs, which caused complaints about how the game was going and how the conditions were.

Reason 3: Star Finishers Are Losing Their Spark

Rinku Singh’s preseason form worries have come true, making KKR’s late-order power less effective when they need to stay calm during chases or defences.

Reason 4: The Blues of Bowling in the Middle Overs

KKR’s attack can slow down opponents, like SRH, but it doesn’t work well against surges. LSG’s finishing blitz showed big gaps in their control.

Reason 5: The spin engine isn’t working right

Varun Chakravarthy’s injury and Sunil Narine’s illness have revealed backup problems that have weakened a once-strong middle-over stranglehold, even though they are expected to return.

Assembly Elections 2026: Record Turnout in Assam, Puducherry, Kerala Not Far Behind, What It Means For the Ruling Dispensation

Assembly- Elections- 2026

Assembly Elections 2026: The Assembly Elections 2026 have captured nationwide attention, especially with record voter turnout in Assam, while Kerala and Puducherry are not far behind. This surge in participation clearly shows that people are becoming more aware and actively involved in shaping political outcomes. High turnout often reflects a strong desire among voters to express their opinions and influence the future of their state.

Record Turnout: A Sign of Political Awakening

The increased voter turnout across these states indicates a growing political awareness among citizens. People are no longer indifferent and are stepping out in large numbers to vote. This reflects a sense of responsibility and belief that their vote can bring real change in governance and policies.

What Does High Voter Turnout Indicate?

A high turnout can signal different things depending on the public mood. It may reflect support for the current government if people are satisfied with its performance. On the other hand, it can also indicate a desire for change, where voters come out in large numbers to voice dissatisfaction.

State-Wise Political Signals

Assam

Assam’s record turnout suggests intense political competition. It indicates that voters are highly engaged, making the outcome less predictable and more dynamic for both ruling and opposition parties.

Kerala

Kerala continues its trend of strong voter participation, often driven by awareness and issue-based voting. Here, voters usually focus on development, education, and social welfare while making their choice.

Puducherry

The rising turnout in Puducherry highlights increasing political awareness among citizens. It also suggests that voters are keen to play a more active role, making the election results more interesting and uncertain.

What It Means for the Ruling Dispensation?

For the ruling parties, high turnout can be both an advantage and a challenge. If the government has delivered a strong performance, it can benefit from increased support. However, if there is public dissatisfaction, higher participation can amplify anti-incumbency sentiments.

Jana Nayagan: ‘Exact Copy Of Bhagavanth Kesari…’ Netizens REACT After Entry Scene Of Thalapathy Vijay Gets Leaked Online

The buzz around Jana Nayagan has taken a negative turn after a major leak surfaced online. The film is important as it is expected to be the final movie of Thalapathy Vijay before he shifts focus to politics.

A five-minute clip from the film has reportedly been leaked. It includes the title credits and Vijay’s entry scene. Soon after it appeared online, the clip spread quickly across platforms. This has left fans upset and the makers under pressure.

Jana Nayagan Leak Sparks Strong Reactions Online

As the clip went viral, many fans reacted strongly on social media. A large number of users asked others not to watch or share the leaked footage. Some also tagged the production house and demanded action.

One fan wrote, “This farewell feels completely ruined, seeing him end his career like this is one of the worst things to watch.” Another said, “Nanba and Nanbis don’t share leaked Clips.”

Another commented. “Anyone who is resharing will be booked and arrested. Do not share. Strength to the team.” One more added, “Please don’t anyone download and try it…”

At the same time, some viewers compared the leaked scene to Bhagavanth Kesari. One user wrote, “Feeling sad for the producers and Vijay !! But if you ask me, the movie is an exact copy of Bhagavanth Kesari. Bro even copied the dialogue ‘I Don’t Care’ exactly..”

People from the film industry also reacted. Actor Sibi Sathyaraj shared his concern and wrote, “Shocked and disturbed to hear about the footage being leaked from #Jananayagan! Whoever did this must understand all the money, effort and hard work involved in making a movie. Sincerely request everyone to refrain from watching and spreading the videos.”

Director H Vinoth also posted a message on Instagram. He wrote, “Every scene carries someone’s dream. The leak before release is truly painful. Please support by not sharing it.”

The leak has again raised concerns about how big films are being protected before release.

Jana Nayagan Controversy And Release Delay

The leak comes at a time when Jana Nayagan is already facing multiple issues. The film has been delayed due to problems with the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC).

The film was earlier set to release on January 9, 2026. However, it ran into trouble over scenes linked to sensitive topics like religious harmony and the portrayal of the Indian Armed Forces. A single judge of the Madras High Court had allowed a U/A 16+ certificate, but this was later set aside after the CBFC challenged the decision.

The case even reached the Supreme Court, which chose not to intervene. After that, the producers withdrew their petition in February 2026 and agreed to go through the CBFC’s revision process.

There were more complications when the film was sent to the Election Commission of India due to its political content, especially with the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections approaching. Reports now suggest the film may be released in early May 2026 or later.

Amid these delays, the leak has added more pressure on the team.

About The Film

Directed by H Vinoth, Jana Nayagan is a political action thriller. The story follows a former police officer, ASP Vetri Kondan, played by Vijay. He gets pulled into a conflict involving power and ideology.

The film shows a clash between two strong personalities — one who claims to fight for the people and another who seeks control. Their past rivalry comes back in a tense situation.

The cast includes Pooja Hegde, Bobby Deol and Mamitha Baiju. Supporting roles are played by Prakash Raj, Priyamani and Gautham Vasudev Menon.

Chief Minister directs formation of an expert committee to investigate smart meter complaints

CM Yogi

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has taken cognizance of complaints received from various regions regarding smart electricity meters and has directed a thorough investigation into the matter. During a review meeting of the Energy Department on Thursday, he stated, “The common consumer is naturally honest and, if provided with a correct bill on time, does not hesitate to make payment.”

The Chief Minister directed the formation of an expert committee to ascertain the real situation of overbilling issues. He also stated, “If the consumer is not at fault, their electricity connection should not be disconnected.”

During the meeting, the Chief Minister emphasized that ensuring uninterrupted, quality, and transparent power supply in the state is the government’s top priority. To ensure that the benefits of reforms in the energy sector reach the last consumer, work should be carried out based on reliable supply, technical efficiency, and accountability.
He directed acceleration of smart metering, reduction in line losses, digitization of consumer services, and improvement in revenue collection.

The Chief Minister stressed making the billing and payment system more transparent and reliable, directing that a robust system be ensured to provide consumers with timely and accurate bills. He emphasized aligning the smart metering system with consumer trust and ensuring prompt and impartial resolution of complaints.

He directed the Energy Minister and the Managing Director of the Power Corporation to personally visit the field, inspect arrangements, and ensure swift and effective resolution of consumer issues. He also instructed that toll-free helpline numbers remain fully active and that complaints received are resolved properly and within a stipulated time so that consumers do not face inconvenience.

It was informed in the meeting that the number of electricity consumers in the state has increased from 1.65 crore in 2017 to more than 3.71 crore in 2026, reflecting an increase of about 126%. During the same period, electricity load has increased by about 80% and energy sales by 63%. Currently, total energy sales stand at 1.27 lakh million units and connected load exceeds 84,000 megawatts. Domestic consumers account for 87% of total connections, while commercial and industrial categories contribute the most to revenue.

Expressing satisfaction over the improved performance of DISCOMs, the Chief Minister directed further improvement in national ratings and strengthening of distribution infrastructure.

The Chief Minister directed that the process of transformer replacement be expedited so that consumers do not face unnecessary inconvenience.

He also stated, where new electricity poles are being installed, strict adherence must be ensured to technical standards such as pole depth, cable quality, and other specifications.
He further directed that the process of underground cabling be carried out in a more organized and accelerated manner.

Strengthening preventive maintenance, the Chief Minister said, “Regular maintenance is essential for fault-free supply.
It was informed in the meeting that due to pre and post-monsoon campaigns, there has been a reduction of about 80% in power transformer damage and about 48% in damage to large distribution transformers in 2025-26.”
In the review of smart metering and revenue reforms, it was informed that more than 84 lakh smart meters have been installed and feeder metering has achieved about 95% progress.

Regarding rural areas, the Chief Minister directed that electrification be ensured even in hamlets with a minimum of 05 houses. He also instructed that works related to double group supply and agricultural feeder separation be completed within the stipulated time to address overloading issues. Under consumer services, directions were given to further strengthen grievance redressal systems through the 1912 call center, online portal, social media, and WhatsApp, and to implement the single window model on a wider scale.

Emphasizing balanced expansion of production capacity, the Chief Minister directed that all thermal units be operated at full capacity and that necessary preparations be ensured in view of summer demand.

He stated, all issues related to production should be resolved within a set timeframe. It was informed in the meeting that the state currently has 12,247 megawatts of thermal capacity and 526.4 megawatts of hydropower capacity, and a cumulative profit of ₹3,143 crore has been earned between 2021-22 and 2025-26. The 660 megawatt unit of Ghatampur will begin operations in April.

The Chief Minister directed that new projects of 5,600 megawatts, including Meja, Obra-D, and Anpara-E, be approved quickly and implemented within a stipulated timeframe. He also instructed to expedite 500 megawatt solar and 50 megawatt floating solar projects and to complete the ongoing survey for nuclear power at the earliest.

In the renewable energy sector, the Chief Minister directed for the effective and timely implementation of all schemes. Under the ‘PM Surya Ghar Yojana’, more than 4.60 lakh rooftop installations (1560 megawatts) have been completed.

He directed that the benefits of the scheme be extended to more consumers. Emphasis was placed on completing utility-scale solar and floating solar projects quickly. Under the ‘PM Kusum Yojana’, directions were given to complete the solarization of pumps within the stipulated timeframe.

He also stressed accelerating progress in bio energy, green hydrogen, and the EV sector, and ensuring timely development of charging stations.
Highlighting the need for sensitivity in electricity vigilance actions, the Chief Minister stated that no action should be taken that causes inconvenience to common people.

From National Leader to Global Excellence: Punjab Launches Mission Samrath 2026–27 with Attendance-Linked Learning Reform

Harjot Singh Bains

Punjab has pushed its Sikhya Kranti (education revolution) into the next phase, with Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains, along with former Delhi Deputy Chief Minister and AAP Punjab Prabhari Manish Sisodia, on Thursday launching Mission Samrath 4.0, a flagship foundational learning programme aimed at achieving global excellence in education. The new phase introduces a state-wide attendance tracking system under which parents will receive daily SMS alerts on their child’s attendance, marking a decisive shift towards real-time accountability and stronger learning continuity in classrooms.

Declaring it as the next big leap in Punjab’s Sikhya Kranti, the Education Minister said Punjab, already ranked No.1 in the PARAKH (Performance Assessment, Review, and Analysis of Knowledge for Holistic Development) survey, is now moving from recognition to results by tightening classroom accountability and scaling proven teaching practices. He underscored that CM Bhagwant Singh Mann has raised the education budget to ₹19,279 crore, ensuring funds reach classrooms rather than remain stuck in files, driving visible transformation from basic infrastructure to measurable learning outcomes across government schools.

Highlighting Punjab’s top rank in the PARAKH Rashtriya Sarvekshan 2024, Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains said that under the leadership of CM Bhagwant Singh Mann, the Punjab Government has introduced the attendance tracking system as part of Mission Samrath 2026–27.

He stated, “Parents will receive daily SMS alerts on their child’s attendance, with notifications for every absence, aiming to boost regular attendance, learning continuity and classroom engagement. Any child absent for seven days will trigger a district-level parent contact, while absence beyond 15 days will be flagged to state headquarters. This will ensure both learning continuity and child safety.”

Emphasising the impact of the programme, the Education Minister stated, “Mission Samrath has transformed classroom dynamics. This phase focuses on enhancing teaching quality and accountability through attendance tracking, improved monitoring and sharing the best practices. Our goal is to ensure that every child achieves strong foundational learning.”

Reflecting on his journey, he added, “I’m grateful for this responsibility (being the Education Minister). Earlier, every MLA wanted to be a minister, but never the education minister. For me, it has been a dream job.”

Highlighting the Punjab Government’s investment in education, Minister Harjot Singh Bains said, “CM Bhagwant Singh Mann increased the education budget from ₹12,657 crore in 2021–22 to ₹19,279 crore in 2026–27, the largest allocation for any sector in Punjab. This money isn’t just on paper. It has reached every school. Teachers used to collect donations to repair toilets or buy brooms during past regimes. Now, they say, don’t send grants, we haven’t spent the last one.”

He further underlined improvements in school infrastructure under the Bhagwant Mann government, stating that every senior secondary school with more than 500 students now has a dedicated campus manager, while schools with over 100 students have been provided security guards and sanitation staff, facilities that were once unavailable.

On academic reforms, Minister Harjot Singh Bains said that textbooks now reach students on time, adding, “Earlier, teachers photocopied pages till September or October as books hadn’t arrived. This year, the Punjab Government delivered complete textbooks to every child on April 1, free of cost, like any private school, made possible through meticulous planning and political will.”

Explaining the core focus of Mission Samrath 4.0, he said, “The programme ensures that children in grades 3 to 8 master reading, writing and mathematics.” Sharing a classroom example, he added, “A class 8 student from Gardale village in Ropar said, ‘I passed class 5, but knew nothing. Thanks to Samrath, I can now talk to you with confidence.’ The results are now visible in national data. Punjab has surpassed the national average in foundational learning by 18% in grade 3 and 26–28% in grade 6. That is our real medal.”

Minister Harjot Singh Bains and former Delhi Delhi Deputy CM Manish Sisodia also released the Mission Samrath Compendium, documenting 38 proven classroom practices developed by Punjab’s teachers, which will now be scaled across government schools to accelerate learning outcomes, particularly for students requiring additional support.

Minister Harjot Singh Bains noted that Mission Samrath has already become one of India’s largest foundational learning programmes, covering nearly 12 lakh students and engaging over 70,000 teachers annually, with its level-based teaching approach grouping students by learning level rather than grade, contributing to Punjab’s top rank in PARAKH.

Manish Sisodia said, “Punjab has proven that government schools can lead the nation. Being ranked number one in PARAKH 2024 is testament to that. With Mission Samrath 4.0, the state ensures every child is in school every day and learning well. This is a step towards global excellence.”

He further emphasised the philosophy behind the reforms, stating, “Every child cannot be sent to IIT, but the government’s duty is to ensure that no child falls below the bottom line. Because if a system allows any child to remain beneath that line, the government has failed. A child is not a statistic. A child is hope. And hope cannot be left below the bottom line.”

Highlighting the importance of accountability, Manish Sisodia added, “Across the country, people read speeches of education ministers, prime ministers and chief ministers. But speeches alone do not change lives. Examples do. A parent, busy elsewhere, receives a simple message: ‘Your ward has reached school safely.’ That small act of accountability, that real-time reassurance, is worth more than a thousand grand declarations.”

Secretary School Education Sonali Giri welcomed the dignitaries and said, “We will ensure every student and parent feels proud to be part of government schools. Punjab has set the benchmark, and Mission Samrath will take it further.”

Director SCERT Kiran Sharma, Advisory Board Member of Central Square Foundation Shaveta Sharma Kukreja, and other senior officials of the department were also present on the occasion.

Attendance-Linked Reform to Strengthen Learning Continuity

Mission Samrath, the Bhagwant Mann Government’s flagship programme, follows a focused, classroom-driven approach by teaching children according to their learning level rather than grade, supported by regular assessments to identify gaps, activity-based learning, and continuous mentoring for teachers. Building on Punjab’s emergence as the top-performing state in the PARAKH Rashtriya Sarvekshan 2024, the Punjab Government has now launched Mission Samrath 2026–27 to move from national leadership towards global excellence in education.

A key feature of this phase is the introduction of a state-wide attendance tracking system under which parents will receive daily SMS alerts regarding their child’s attendance, including notifications for every absence. This mechanism is designed to improve regular attendance, ensure learning continuity, enhance classroom engagement, and build stronger accountability between schools and families, while reinforcing the link between attendance and learning outcomes.

Questioning Sri Akal Takht Sahib is attack on Panth, Sukhbir Badal must be held accountable: Harjot Singh Bains

Harjot Singh Bains

Punjab Cabinet Minister Harjot Singh Bains on Thursday criticised Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) Chief Sukhbir Singh Badal over his remarks regarding the December 2, 2024 orders of Sri Akal Takht Sahib, stating that such statements undermine the authority of the highest temporal seat of the Sikh Panth and amount to a direct attack on its sanctity and the collective sentiments of the community. He asserted that Sri Akal Takht Sahib is the supreme spiritual and temporal authority of the Panth, and every edict issued from it is a divine command that cannot be questioned with “buts” and “ifs,” adding that those who challenge its authority cannot claim to represent the Panth.

Calling for immediate intervention, he urged acting Jathedar Giani Kuldeep Singh Gargaj to take strict notice of an attack on the Takht. In the same context, Harjot Singh Bains also pointed to political interference in religious and heritage matters, stating that the SGPC altered nearly 90 per cent of the Sri Anandpur Sahib Heritage Street project to deny credit to the CM Bhagwant Singh Mann government, and asserted that the people will remember who ultimately blocked a project of deep religious and cultural significance.

Reacting to Sukhbir Singh Badal’s statement suggesting that “agencies” influenced the decisions of Sri Akal Takht Sahib, Minister Harjot Singh Bains said, “To say Sri Akal Takht Sahib decisions were influenced by agencies is the most disgraceful statement any so-called Sikh leader could make.”

He added, “Sri Akal Takht Sahib is the ultimate seat of spiritual and temporal authority for the Sikh Panth. Every edict issued from there is a divine order and cannot be questioned with ‘buts’ and ‘ifs’.”

Issuing a strong warning, he stated, “Whoever raises a question on the order issued by Sri Akal Takht Sahib will be answerable to the Guru Sahib.”

Appealing to the acting Jathedar Giani Kuldeep Singh Gargaj, Minister Harjot Singh Bains said, “Sukhbir Singh Badal has attacked Sri Akal Takht Sahib with his words. This is an invasion on our faith. Any Sikh who does not accept the Akal Takht’s edict or questions its authority forfeits their right to be called a Sikh. Action must be taken against him.”

He further noted that former Sri Akal Takht Sahib Jathedar Giani Raghbir Singh had also condemned Sukhbir Singh Badal’s statement and called upon the Panth to stand united against any attempt to question the authority of the Takht.

Responding to a media query regarding the Sri Anandpur Sahib Heritage Street project, Minister Harjot Singh Bains said that the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) stalled the project due to political considerations, fearing that the credit would go to others. “I was assigned to the Tourism Department for two months. With great enthusiasm, we prepared the Heritage Street project for Sri Anandpur Sahib. It was vetted by the SGPC. Even today, a model of the project, including a Deodi, lies in front of Takht Sri Keshgarh Sahib,” he said.

He stated, “The SGPC altered 90 per cent of the original design of the heritage street project for political reasons, as the SGPC did not want the credit to go elsewhere, neither to Harjot Singh Bains nor to CM Bhagwant Singh Mann.”

Highlighting inconsistencies, he added, “A similar Deodi structure was already built at Takht Sri Damdama Sahib. Then why was 90 per cent of the approved design changed? But as I have said, whatever the SGPC President or the Jathedar of Takht Sri Keshgarh Sahib decide is a divine order for us. It was my heartfelt wish to see that project through.”

He explained that the proposed corridor aimed to connect Takht Sri Keshgarh Sahib to Gurdwara Sis Ganj Sahib, the site where the ninth Guru’s holy head was cremated, a place where Guru Gobind Singh Ji paid obeisance daily while residing in Sri Anandpur Sahib. “We accept the Sikh body decision wholeheartedly. Now the decision will be made by the Qaum and the people of Sri Anandpur Sahib. The Sikh Qaum will always remember that the SGPC did not let it happen,” he said.

Expressing disappointment over the changes, Harjot Singh Bains stated, “The current incline to Takht Sri Keshgarh Sahib is too steep. I had planned stairs, a lift and an open way for Nagar Kirtan. Today, neither elderly nor many others can climb the slope, but it’s okay, whatever the SGPC orders.” He confirmed that the project will now be executed from Takht Sri Keshgarh Sahib to Gurdwara Sis Ganj Sahib and Qila Anandgarh Sahib.

CM Yogi Adityanath Leads Uttar Pradesh to No. 1 Rank in GeM Procurement with ₹22337 Crore, Check

CM-Yogi-Adityanath

CM Yogi Adityanath: Uttar Pradesh is now the best state for government purchases through the Government e-Marketplace (GeM) portal. In the financial year 2025–26, it made a record ₹22,337 crore in purchases. This achievement puts the state at the top of the list in India, ahead of big states like Gujarat and Maharashtra.

Put your attention on openness and productivity

Officials say that the state’s strong use of the GeM platform, which makes the procurement system open, competitive, and efficient, is what made this happen. The government has told all departments to move their purchases to the portal, which will make them less dependent on traditional tender systems.

Big savings with a reverse auction

Using reverse auction mechanisms is one of the most important parts of the procurement model. Reports say that Uttar Pradesh saved more than ₹9,700 crore in the same financial year by using this method.

Support for MSMEs, startups, and women business owners

CM Yogi Adityanath: The GeM platform has also been very important in getting more small businesses to join. Data shows that more MSMEs, startups, and women entrepreneurs are taking part in government contracts. Women-led businesses alone saw a big increase in participation.

A Template for Other States

It has been said that the central government has praised Uttar Pradesh’s procurement model and said that other states should follow it.

Uttar Pradesh is now a leader in transparent governance and digital transformation because most of its departments now use GeM to make purchases.

The success of GeM procurement is in line with the government’s overall strategy of using technology to make things more efficient and cut down on corruption.

Forget Needles! The Oral Cholesterol Treatment Could Change Heart Health, Check Video

A Pill for cholesterol control doctor discovery

If you or a loved one has ever struggled with high cholesterol, you know how frustrating it can be to manage it with diet and medication. For many heart disease patients, even strong statin doses don’t bring LDL levels down enough. Now, a new pill being tested in clinical trials could change the way doctors treat cholesterol and it doesn’t involve needles.

In a recent video on the YouTube channel @TheStudiesGuy, speaker Joseph Minkowitz explains why this new treatment is generating so much excitement. Unlike costly injectable drugs many patients avoid, this pill could do the job almost as well, and more people might be willing to take it.

New Oral Pill Shows Promise For Cholesterol Control

Traditional treatment for stubborn cholesterol often includes PCSK9 inhibitors, which require injections and are costly. Because of this, most patients never use them and many doctors don’t prescribe them. But the new drug in the spotlight is different.

Dr Anne Marie Navar led a large phase 3 clinical trial involving 2,909 participants to test a pill called Enlicitide. According to the trial results, the pill reduced “bad” LDL cholesterol by up to 57% — a huge improvement for an oral medication. Even more impressive:

  • Over 70% of patients hit their cholesterol targets in the trial
  • The reduction seen with this pill is one of the largest ever achieved with a non‑injectable drug
  • Researchers say it may be the most effective oral cholesterol treatment since statins

Dr Navar called the results “the most effective cholesterol reduction anyone has ever achieved with an oral medication since statins were developed.”

However, it’s important to note that this drug is still investigational. It has not yet been approved by the FDA, so it isn’t available for general use yet.

Why An Oral Pill Matters

According to experts, one of the biggest problems in heart health is adherence — patients simply don’t take their medications consistently. This is especially true for injectable drugs that require regular clinic visits or self‑injection. An effective once‑daily pill could solve this problem.

Here’s why this matters:

  1. More patients might stick with treatment when no injections are needed.
  2. A daily pill could improve outcomes and reduce risk of heart attacks and strokes.
  3. If approved, it could become a new standard in how doctors treat cholesterol worldwide.

As research continues, many in the medical community are watching this closely. If future results match the early promise, this pill could mark a major shift in heart health care.

Stop Ignoring High Uric Acid: Expert Says Your Favourite Foods Might Be Secretly Ruining Your Kidneys And Heart, Check Video

How to lower High Uric Acid

Getting your lab results and seeing high uric acid can be alarming. Many people immediately think of gout or painful joints, but the dangers go far beyond a swollen toe. Experts warn that it can silently damage your kidneys and blood vessels, increasing the risk of heart attacks and strokes. Understanding this hidden threat and taking action is crucial for long-term health.

Why High Uric Acid Is More Dangerous Than You Think

Most people assume it only causes gout. While the joint pain from uric acid (UA) crystals is severe, it’s only the surface-level problem. The real danger is silent and life-threatening:

  • Kidney damage: Excess UA can settle in your kidneys like sediment, clogging tiny tubes and reducing their filtering ability. Over time, this may cause chronic kidney disease or kidney stones.
  • Heart and blood vessel risk: High uric acid stiffens blood vessels, promotes plaque buildup, and triggers inflammation. This dramatically raises the risk of heart attacks and strokes.
  • Gout attacks: UA can form sharp crystal deposits in joints, causing extreme pain and deformity if left untreated.

Your body produces uric acid naturally from purines, substances found in foods like red meat, organ meats and seafood. Normally, your kidneys filter it out efficiently, but when production exceeds elimination—or kidney function is impaired—uric acid levels spike. Alcohol and sugary drinks can also block its excretion, worsening the problem.

How to Lower It Naturally

You don’t have to rely solely on medication. Simple dietary and lifestyle changes can help control levels and protect your kidneys and heart:

Foods to avoid:

  1. Seafood and long-cooked broths – Clams, oysters, mackerel, and concentrated soups are high in purines.
  2. Red meat and organ meats – Liver, kidney, and other organ meats are purine-dense “bombs.”
  3. Alcohol and sugary drinks – Beer and sweetened beverages accelerate production.

Foods that help:

  • Onions: Contain quercetin, which slows uric acid production and aids kidney excretion.
  • Celery: Supports natural flushing of UA.
  • Cherries: Reduce inflammation and lower gout risk.
  • Low-fat dairy and vitamin C-rich vegetables: Help the body remove excess uric acid.

Lifestyle tips:

  • Drink at least 2 litres of water daily to dilute UA and flush it from your system.
  • Exercise moderately five times a week to improve metabolism and support kidney function.

Managing high uric acid is a long-term commitment, like controlling blood pressure. Regular monitoring, healthy habits and consulting your doctor are essential to prevent silent damage and maintain your overall health.
