In a significant boost to Punjab’s tourism and hospitality sector, Cabinet Minister Sanjeev Arora announced that the Oberoi Group and Springedge Solutions Pvt. Ltd. have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the development of a world-class hospitality project in Amritsar.

The MoU was signed in the presence of senior representatives of both sides, including Mr. R. Spread over 3 acres, the project involves an investment of around ₹400 crore and is expected to significantly strengthen Amritsar’s premium hospitality infrastructure.

The project is expected to generate employment for around 350 persons, giving a further fillip to local economic activity and job creation, he added.

Sharing more details, he said that this hospitality venture will be developed as a joint collaboration between the Oberoi Group and Springedge Solutions Pvt. Ltd., bringing together the Oberoi Group’s globally respected expertise in luxury hospitality and Springedge’s strong local institutional presence.

Notably, this will be the first hotel in Punjab under the “Trident” brand. At present, 9 hotels are operational under the Trident brand across India. The Oberoi Group currently has 32 operational hotels across the country, while 10 more are in the pipeline. In Punjab, the Group already operates The Oberoi Sukhvilas Spa Resort, New Chandigarh under the Oberoi brand.

The Amritsar project is also significant as it is being described as the first Greenfield project of this scale under the Trident brand in Punjab. Work on the project is expected to begin in July 2026, with completion targeted for March 2029.

The Government of Punjab, through Invest Punjab, played a proactive role in facilitating this collaboration. Invest Punjab has been closely engaging with both parties for over one and a half years and was instrumental in bringing them together, reflecting the state government’s commitment to enabling high-value investments.

Highlighting Punjab’s strong industrial momentum, Cabinet Minister Sanjeev Arora informed that the state has attracted ₹59,448 crore of investments in 2025–26, the highest in its history, with a potential to generate 1,33,221 jobs. Further, since April 1, 2022, Punjab has attracted investments worth ₹1,59,947 crore, with an employment potential of 5,57,664 jobs, showcasing the growing confidence of investors in the state.

This collaboration marks another important milestone in Punjab’s journey towards becoming a preferred destination for high-end tourism, hospitality and investment, while further reinforcing Amritsar’s position as a global cultural and spiritual hub.

Cabinet Minister Sanjeev Arora said Punjab is emerging as a preferred destination not only for industry, but also for premium tourism and hospitality investments. With proactive support from Invest Punjab, such landmark projects are becoming a reality and contributing to the state’s economic growth.

Pannu stated that a large number of people across Punjab have come forward to assist the police through the special helpline number issued against gangsters, which proves that there is no longer any space left for criminals in the state.

Sharing the figures, Baltej Pannu said that around 590 people have registered their complaints on this helpline so far. He clarified that the government’s priority is the safety of the complainant, and therefore the identity of every individual providing information is being kept completely confidential. He added that such a large number of people coming forward fearlessly to lodge complaints shows that the people of Punjab have full faith in the Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF) and the intentions of the Mann Government. Many other complaints are currently under detailed investigation, and legal action will be taken on them soon.

Baltej Pannu said that it is due to this unwavering trust of the people that the AGTF is achieving such significant success in the fight against gangsterism. He assured the people of Punjab that this campaign to make the state crime-free and safe will continue until gangsterism is completely eradicated from Punjab.

bhagwant singh mann

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann on Saturday launched a sharp attack on Sukhbir Singh Badal and the Shiromani Akali Dal over past ‘beadbi’ (sacrilege) incidents, while asserting that the Aam Aadmi Party government is taking decisive steps to ensure justice by strengthening laws and enforcing strict punishment.

Addressing a massive gathering in Fatehgarh Sahib, CM Bhagwant Singh Mann stated, “Sukhbir Singh Badal makes tall claims that everything is built by them, but he turns a blind eye to Kotakpura, Behbal Kalan, and other places where ‘beadbi’ (sacrilege) of Sri Guru Granth Sahib took place and innocents were killed. All of this happened under their regime.”

He added, “They have forgotten these ‘beadbi’ incidents and believe that people will forget them too, but people will not forget. Their family was complicit. We will fix this and are consulting the best legal experts to strengthen the law. On the occasion of Baisakhi, we have called a special Assembly session at Sri Anandpur Sahib to amend the Jagat Jot Sri Guru Granth Sahib Satkar Act, 2008.”

The Punjab CM asserted, “Anyone attempting ‘beadbi’ will face the strictest punishment, with a minimum of 10 years and up to life imprisonment. No one should dare to disrespect Sri Guru Granth Sahib. We are also consulting the Sant Samaj. This is something only we can and must do, and it cannot be expected from any other government.”

Time for PM Modi to step forward & shoulder responsibility in actually ‘stopping war’: CM Bhagwant Singh Mann

CM Mann

As global tensions escalate in Gulf countries and disruptions in key maritime routes trigger uncertainty across markets, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann has called on the Centre to act decisively, urging Prime Minister Narendra Modi to take responsibility and leverage India’s global relationships to safeguard the country’s economic and energy security. He cautioned that while PM Modi speaks of becoming a Vishwaguru, the current trajectory risks reducing it to a “Vishwachela” if timely and effective intervention is not made.

Citing the recent virtual meeting convened by the Prime Minister with Chief Ministers, CM Bhagwant Singh Mann stated, “A war-like situation in Gulf countries has created panic across the world. The disruption of key sea routes is emerging as a major obstacle in global trade and supply chains.” He highlighted that each state presented its concerns in detail, noting that while some states are dependent on mining or coastal trade, Punjab’s economy is closely tied to agriculture, industry and its border location.

Emphasising the urgency of the situation, he said, “This is the time for the Prime Minister to step forward and play a responsible role in stopping the war. The strong relationships that the Prime Minister shares with leaders across countries must now be used in the interest of 140 crore Indians.”

Flagging immediate concerns for Punjab, particularly with the ongoing wheat procurement season, the Chief Minister added, “As wheat arrivals begin in mandis, it must be ensured that there is no shortage of petrol and diesel in Punjab. Any disruption in fuel supply will directly impact farmers, transportation and procurement operations.”

CM Bhagwant Singh Mann further remarked, “We speak of becoming a Vishwaguru, but what we are witnessing suggests we are becoming a Vishwachela. This is the moment for India to translate its global standing into concrete action that protects its people.”

Calling for urgent and coordinated intervention, the Chief Minister stressed that the Centre must act swiftly to stabilise supply chains, ensure uninterrupted fuel availability, and protect the country from the cascading impact of global instability.

Punjab flags urgent fuel demand as 140 LMT wheat harvest approaches, seeks Centre’s immediate action: CM Bhagwant Singh Mann

CM Mann

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann on Saturday called upon the Government of India to urgently ensure enhanced and uninterrupted supply of petrol, diesel and DAP fertiliser as Punjab gears up for a 140 Lakh Metric Ton (LMT) wheat harvest, warning that any disruption in fuel availability could directly impact national food security. While reiterating that there is no shortage and no cause for panic, the Chief Minister underscored that timely action by the Centre is essential to keep harvesting operations and grain movement running smoothly, even as Punjab stands ready with 181 LMT wheat and 139 LMT paddy to support the nation.

Addressing a press conference, CM Bhagwant Singh Mann stated, “During a virtual meeting with the Prime Minister on Friday evening, I apprised that Punjab is likely to produce 140 Lakh Metric Ton (LMT) of wheat this year. To ensure smooth harvesting and ferrying of the crop, regular supply of petrol and diesel is needed. A large number of tractors, trolleys, harvesters and trucks will be used during harvesting, so fuel supply must be enhanced in larger public interest. It is the need of the hour to ensure that the food security of the country is maintained by all means.”

Reassuring the public, the Chief pointed said there was no need for panic. “There is currently a stock of 12-14 days of petrol and diesel and six days of LPG in the state, which is usually the same throughout the year. This stock is intact and supply is going on unabated. The country has import agreements with 41 nations and at the national level 60 days of petrol and diesel stock and 30 days of LPG stock have already been secured. There is no need for hoarding or panic buying as the Chief Secretary is keeping an eagle eye on supplies. Hoarders and black marketers will not be spared at any cost.”

Citing operational data, he added, “Till Thursday, 71,000 requests for LPG refilling were received, out of which 69,000 have already been delivered. There is no possibility of any lockdown in the state and everything is functioning smoothly. A total of 1,497 checks have been conducted, during which 301 LPG cylinders were seized.” He further stated, “The Punjab Government is committed to ensuring that both agriculture and industry do not face any disruption. A helpline number 01723321001 has been launched for LPG, petrol and diesel-related issues.”

Highlighting Punjab’s role in national food security, the Chief Minister said, “Amidst the ongoing situation, Punjab is ready to provide 41 LMT of wheat currently in its godowns, along with 140 LMT expected this year and 139 LMT of paddy for serving people across the country. The state has always helped the needy and poor. If the country requires this 181 LMT of wheat and 139 LMT of paddy, it can be lifted anytime. Punjab will uphold its glorious tradition to support the nation in this hour of need and no stone will be left unturned for this noble cause.”

He also welcomed the Centre’s move on fuel pricing, stating, “The decision of the Government of India to reduce additional tax on petrol and diesel is a confidence-building measure.” Raising further concerns, CM Bhagwant Singh Mann said, “The Union government must ensure regular supply of DAP fertilizer on priority as paddy transplantation in Punjab begins from June 1. The waiting period of 45 days for LPG refills in rural areas should also be reduced to 25 days, at par with urban areas.”

Referring to his interaction with the Prime Minister, he said, “During the virtual meeting, I flagged all key issues pertaining to Punjab. I urged the Prime Minister to proactively use diplomatic channels so that the country does not face any shortages. Though we claim to be a Vishav Guru, we must ensure that our actions reflect self-reliance and strategic strength in securing essential resources.”

Heart Attack: Can Breakup Or Loss Of Loved One Trigger This Deadly Cardiac Crisis? Hyderabad Surgeon Says ‘Stress Leads To…’

Can Breakup or loss of loved one trigger heart attack

A heart attack is one of the most feared medical emergencies. We often see movies showing someone collapsing after heartbreak, loss or intense stress. But how true is that in real life? Can emotional trauma like a breakup or losing a loved one really trigger a heart attack? A senior surgeon in Hyderabad has shared clear answers that separate fact from fiction.

Dr Vishal Khante, a Consultant Cardiothoracic and Minimally Invasive Surgeon at Yashoda Hospitals, explains that stress affects the body in powerful ways. But not all types of stress have the same impact on the heart.

Heart Attack and Emotional Stress: What the Surgeon Says

In a video shared online, Dr Khante was asked whether heartbreaks and breakups could cause a heart attack just like films often show.

He responded, “Yes. Not a breakup because a breakup is in young people. It’s difficult to have a heart attack in young people. But yes, loss of any emotional stress in old susceptible individual can lead to attack because of the stress involved. So that stress leads to hyper reactivity of body leads to excess work of the heart and can lead to a heart attack.”

Here’s what he highlights:

  • Young people are less likely to suffer a heart attack from a breakup alone. Their bodies are generally more resilient to emotional stress.
  • Older or susceptible individuals, especially those with existing heart conditions, may be at real risk.
  • Severe emotional loss can trigger a stress response that overworks the heart.
  • This stress leads to hyper-reactivity of the body, making the heart work harder and increasing the risk of a heart attack.

So, while Hollywood-style scenes of someone dropping dead from a breakup are exaggerated, emotional stress can be dangerous in the right (or wrong) context — particularly for older adults or those with weak hearts.

Early Care And Advanced Treatment

In one of his previous videos, Dr Khante has also stressed the importance of early diagnosis and modern surgical care to manage and prevent heart attacks.

He is a strong supporter of Minimally Invasive Cardiac Surgery (MICS). This approach uses small incisions and advanced tools to treat heart problems with less pain and faster recovery. It can prevent severe outcomes such as sudden cardiac rupture.

He explains that with:

  • Smaller cuts compared to traditional open-heart surgery
  • Less blood loss
  • Reduced pain and shorter hospital stays

MICS can make a big difference to patients who might otherwise face more difficult surgery.

Real Risks Of Stress And Heart Attack

According to the American Heart Association, intense emotional stress can trigger a condition called stress cardiomyopathy (also known as “broken heart syndrome”). This condition mimics H.attack and can weaken the heart temporarily. It most often affects older adults or those under extreme stress.

In some cases, emotional events can lead to real heart problems when combined with physical risk factors like high blood pressure, diabetes or existing heart disease.

Amaal Mallik: ‘I Got Rs 75000 From Rs 100 Crore Song!’ Bigg Boss 19 Fame Exposes Brutal Truth About Music Royalties In India

Amaal Mallik Exposes Reality of Music Royalties in India

Music composer and Bigg Boss 19 fame Amaal Mallik has revealed the harsh truth about India’s music royalty system. In an interview, he explained how creators earn only a tiny fraction of what their songs actually make. Using his hit track “Sooraj Dooba Hai” from the 2015 Ranbir Kapoor film Roy as an example, Amaal pointed out the huge gap between a song’s revenue and what reaches the artists.

Speaking to Zoom, he said, “There is royalty system implemented from 2020. Javed Akhtar sahab fought very hard for it. An actor feels that if they are standing in a song, the song will be a hit. That is only 50% true. The rest 50% credit goes to the lyric writer, music composer, director and then last comes the singer. Singers are important, but they are not the creators of the song. These four pillars of the sound are all needing rights of the song. Music producers don’t have right to their songs, but in the West, that category also has rights to the song.”

Amaal Says He Earned In Peanuts Despite Song’s Huge Profits

Amaal Mallik revealed that despite the song earning massive revenue, his personal take-home was small. He said, “Like for the song, Sooraj Dooba Hai, I got Rs 8 lakh, and I gave everything in that. I had to run my house, make this song. It would have taken Rs 10 lakh max. The song was made in Rs 8-10 lakh.”

He estimated that the track has earned nearly Rs 100 crore over 12 years, but the team’s total payout, including him, was just Rs 15–20 lakh. Breaking down his share, he said, “I paid my team in that amount. After paying for everything, I get a salary of Rs 75,000 to Rs 1.5 lakh after doing one song. That is why my mother said – You don’t even do shows, you are leaving films, then how are you going to live? But God is kind. After doing 130 songs, why must my mother worry about from where will we get the food?”

Amaal On Why Indian Creators Still Struggle Compared To Those In West

Amaal emphasised how most of a song’s earnings in India go to labels rather than creators.

He said, “In India, singers have publishing rights, like I will get Rs 20 lakh per year for Sooraj Dooba Hai but that song has earned Rs 100 crore. So, there is a disparity. So, 95% share of the song goes to the label. Now, that song is not mine anymore. The label can do anything, they can remix it if they want. I can’t do anything about it but pray that they credit me.”

He compared this to the West, citing Taylor Swift, where artists retain master rights and can re-release their work. He added, “If you see the global share of royalties, 95% from that will go to the label, and the rest of the team will share from the remaining 5%.”

Released under T-Series, Sooraj Dooba Hai remains a huge commercial hit, but the label hasn’t shared its earnings.

‘Don’t Mess With Dhurandhar Fans…’ Saiyaara Actress Aneet Padda’s Sister Faces Heavy Backlash For Calling It Propaganda, Locks Her Instagram

Aneet Padda sister makes Instagram private due to trolling by Dhurandhar 2 fans

Saiyaara actress Aneet Padda and her sister Reet Padda have sparked a social media storm. Reet’s comments calling Dhurandhar, The Kerala Story and The Kashmir Files “propaganda” have gone viral, drawing widespread criticism.

The backlash was so intense that Reet has now locked her Instagram account and removed her profile picture. Netizens have also targeted Aneet, accusing her of silently supporting her sister’s statements.

Reet Padda Criticises Dhurandhar And Faces Online Fury

In her social media post, Reet labelled Dhurandhar 2 as “propaganda”. She wrote that the film pushes a “government-friendly narrative” and exaggerates events like demonetisation. Comparing it to The Kerala Story and The Kashmir Files, she said these films “take a sliver of truth” and amplify it to target specific communities.

Reet also criticised Priyanka Chopra Jonas for not speaking about international conflicts during the Oscars, stating the actress stood like a dodo bird and added, “If my sister Aneet were in such a position and stayed silent, I would be the first to call her out.” She emphasised that she does not discriminate against individuals but opposes political figures mixing religion with politics.

Fans reacted immediately. One user tweeted, “Meet Aneet Padda’s sister Reet Padda who mocks Dhurandhar and called it a propaganda movie. People on social media trolled her, and now she has locked her Instagram. Don’t mess with Dhurandhar fans (sic).”

Another added, “Reet Padda and her Pakistani boyfriend Fazil Ahmed both locked their Insta accounts after backlash (sic).”

Why Ranveer Starrer Is Being Called Propaganda

Directed by Aditya Dhar, Dhurandhar franchise stars Ranveer Singh as Hamza Ali Mazari, an undercover Indian agent in Karachi’s criminal underworld. The first film, released in December 2025, follows Hamza’s rise in the Lyari gang to dismantle an ISI-underworld nexus. Its sequel, Dhurandhar 2 The Revenge, released in March 2026, continues the story with major security events like the IC-814 hijacking and the 26/11 attacks.

Both films have been massive box office successes, making the franchise the first Indian film series to have two entries cross Rs 1,000 crore worldwide.

Despite its commercial success, the series has faced criticism for its “propaganda” content. Critics say the films use political messaging to justify policies like demonetisation and mix real historical footage with fiction, promoting “shrill nationalism” and “Islamophobic tropes.”

As West Asia Tensions Trigger Panic Buying Elsewhere, Bhagwant Mann Says Punjab Fuel Supply Remains Secure

Bhagwant- Mann
Google

Bhagwant Mann: By the time Bhagwant Mann’s Yudh Nashian Virudh hits Day 391, it doesn’t feel like a short campaign anymore. It feels like something that’s settled in,steady, ongoing, and a lot more thought-through than when it started. What began as a strong crackdown is slowly turning into a more balanced effort.

Action Still Going Strong

Police teams carried out operations across the state and picked up 137 people linked to drug activity. Along with that, they seized heroin, opium, poppy husk, thousands of tablets, and some cash tied to the trade.

This isn’t new at this point, and that’s actually the point. The consistency matters. The idea is simple: don’t give the supply chain any breathing space.

Not Just About Arrests

What’s changed, though, is how addiction itself is being looked at. Earlier, everything leaned heavily toward enforcement. Now, there’s a bit more understanding in the approach.

Many users are being directed toward counselling and de-addiction support instead of being treated exactly the same as traffickers. It’s a small shift on paper, but in reality, it makes a big difference. If someone gets a real chance to recover, they’re less likely to fall back into the same cycle.

People Getting Involved

Bhagwant Mann :Another thing that’s becoming more visible is community involvement. Villages, youth groups, even local volunteers, they’re all starting to play a role. Awareness drives, keeping an eye on things, just being more alert overall.

And honestly, that’s where long-term change usually comes from, not just top-down action, but people at the ground level caring enough to step in.

A fresh viral video of Pakistani politician Nabil Gabol has sparked a new controversy around Ranveer Singh and Aditya Dhar‘s Dhurandhar 2. In the clip, he reacts strongly to the film and even claims he plans to make his own version, which has quickly grabbed attention online.

The buzz started after many viewers linked Gabol to the character Jameel Jamali, played by Rakesh Bedi in the Dhurandhar franchise. Since then, the discussion has only grown louder, with his latest comments adding a fresh twist.

Nabil Gabol Reacts To Jameel Jamali Character, Portrayal Of Lyari

The viral video s from a recent interview with a social media creator. In it, Gabol spoke about the film and the character believed to be inspired by him. He dismissed the film’s narrative and questioned its intent.

He said, “The truth is that they cannot fight Pakistan or the Pakistani Army, so they created a movie instead. Through this, they have made Lyari internationally famous. The people of Lyari do not care. They are very strong. They used a comedian, Rakesh Bedi, to play my role and portrayed him as Nabil Gabol. Rakesh Bedi later claimed, ‘No, I didn’t just base it on Nabil Gabol; I made it a general depiction of all Pakistani politicians’. However, in 2007, the MNA of Lyari was Nabil Gabol.”

In the viral video, Nabil Gabol also responded to trolling from Indian social media users. He issued a strong statement, saying: “I will give you a powerful response, just as the Pakistani Army responded to you. Just as six of your planes were shot down, I will also give you a proper answer regarding what Lyari actually is.”

He also made a surprising claim about making his own version of the film: Gabol said, “I will make Dhurandhar 3, but won’t call it that. I will call it Lyari Ka Gabbar.”

His statement quickly triggered reactions online. Many users mocked the idea, questioning its practicality and audience appeal. A user wrote, “Abhi bhi Pak walon ko bewkoof bana rahe ho..waah kya baat hai.”

Another commented, “Movie banane ke liye paise hain ya China se loan loge.”

A third user said, “Aur teri movie dekhega kaun?”

Sources close to the Dhurandhar franchise have clarified that there are currently no plans for a third instalment. The makers remain focused on the success of Dhurandhar 2, which has already crossed the Rs 1000 crore mark worldwide.

The controversy is also linked to the film’s storyline. In Dhurandhar 2, the character Jameel Jamali is shown as an undercover Indian spy in Pakistan. This twist reportedly led to backlash and trolling directed at Gabol.

Interestingly, Gabol had earlier acknowledged similarities between himself and the character after the first film’s release in 2025. However, after the sequel showed the character as an Indian agent, he has distanced himself from the portrayal and criticised it as inaccurate.
