In a post on X, the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas clarified that several media houses have been trying to create a panic-like situation by suggesting that the number of LPG refill booking days has been increased.

However, the minimum gap between two refill bookings remains 25 days in urban areas and 45 days in rural areas as per existing guidelines. Consumers have been asked by the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas to avoid panic buying.

Eateries Cut Menu, Switch To Coal

Meanwhile, several roadside eateries, dhabas, hotels and restaurants have been forced to cut down on their food menu or switch to alternatives like induction cooktops or coal amid LPG shortage in the country.

A transparent dispute resolution mechanism along with protective measures against arbitrary denial of access for laying down of pipelines is also introduced by the Union Government in areas where PNG connectivity is technically not feasible or difficult.

LPG Gas Booking New Rules: Gas companies in India have made a series of changes for booking Liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) cylinders.

LPG Gas Booking New Rules Explained

Under the new rules, the gap between bookings of two LPG cylinders has been increased from 25 to 35 days for non-Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY) gas connection holders having 2 or more cylinders.

Non-PMUY gas connection holders having a single cylinder could book their gas cylinder after 25 days. On the other hand, PMUY beneficiaries would now have to wait for 45 days before they could book the next LPG cylinder.

Interestingly, the count of days would initiate from the day of delivery and not the day of booking. If a consumer tries booking before the deadline, the system would block the booking, making it invalid.

LPG connection holders could book a maximum of 2 cylinders every month. Cylinder bookings could only be made by consumers using a registered mobile number. If a consumer’s registered mobile number has changed, it must be immediately updated at the agency or via the mobile app. Moreover, consumers who have not booked a cylinder for more than 9 months would see their connections being blocked.

Rules For Small Cylinders

For gas connection holders having a 5kg cylinder, the gap would be 9-16 days and 18-32 days for 10kg cylinders.

Delhi News: In the early hours of Wednesday, Delhi was shaken by a tragic road accident in the heart of the city, leaving families devastated and commuters in shock.At around 1 a.m. near Jhandewalan Temple in Karol Bagh, a double-decker passenger bus traveling from Jaipur lost control and overturned on the busy road, creating panic among other vehicles and bystanders.

The Accident That Shook Delhi

The bus was carrying about 25 passengers when it suddenly veered off the road near the crowded Hanuman Murti Chowk / Jhandewalan area. Eyewitnesses reported that the vehicle seemed to be moving at high speed before it toppled over, trapping passengers inside its mangled frame.Within minutes, emergency services, including fire, police, and paramedics, rushed to the spot. A massive rescue operation was launched as panicked residents tried to help those trapped in the wreckage.

Lives Lost and Many Injured

Authorities confirmed that at least two people lost their lives, while more than 20 others were injured. The injured were immediately taken to nearby hospitals, where doctors began treating them for fractures, cuts, and other critical injuries. Talking about the incident, Rajpal said that he had reached the photo session a little late and quickly joined the group. Because of that, he accidentally stood in the middle, while Akshay Kumar wanted the actresses to stand in the centre for the photo and the male actors on the sides.

He told ANI, “Us din ke vivaad ki baat karun to main, Akshay paaji aur Ekta dono aa gaye the aur woh ladkiyan aa gayi thi. Mera wait ho raha tha. Main jaise hi bhaag ke aaya to ladkiyon ke beech mein tha, to Akshay paaji mujhse keh rahe the ki apan mahilaon ko beech mein rakhenge aur ek taraf main khada hoonga, ek taraf tu khada hoga. Aur ye actually Akshay bhai ka sanskaar hai ki hum log aapas mein is tareeke ki baat karke aise khade hue the.”

Rajpal said the moment looked different on camera, but it was only about arranging people properly for the photo. He added, “Door se pata nahi aap logon ne kya samjha. Actually, Akshay bhai ne ek gesture kiya tha ki jab teen ladkiyan ho aur do male ho, to teen female hamesha beech mein ho, ek taraf ek male, doosri taraf doosra male.
