8th Pay Commission: The Central Government has finally appointed the 8th Pay Commission Director, almost one year after the 8th CPC announcement. The delayed hiring decision has generated more anger and frustration than relief. Ashish Yadav has now been appointed as the 8th CPC director on a deputation basis.

8th Pay Commission-Hiring Order

The director’s hiring order has now been stated in the office memorandum issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT).

The appointment has been made by the Central Government under the Central Staffing Scheme. The hiring order specifies that Ashish Yadav has to join within a period of three weeks else debarment proceedings would be initiated against him. The Federation is furious that at one time the government is acting strict on paperwork but the ground-level preparations at the same time appear to be bleak.

Dr. Manjeet Patel, National President of the All India NPS Employees Federation, remarked that the basic infrastructure, office setup and staffing would now initiate after the director’s name has been finalized. Patel added it would take several months at this pace just to get started with work. He went on to remark that the ‘ease of governance’ exists only in speeches but not in reality.

Patel demanded direct and quick intervention from the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He commented that PM Modi should immediately issue directions so that the 8th CPC could start work at war footing else millions of central government employees and pensioners would not be able to get their dues on time.

UP villages turning hi-tech, 75 kilometre long road built from plastic waste

Uttar Pradesh’s villages are now forging a new identity of cleanliness and innovation. Innovative experiments of road construction from plastic waste, door-to-door waste collection for compost production and revenue generation have made the state’s rural landscape hi-tech.

So far, 75 kilometre long roads have been constructed from plastic waste in the state capital Lucknow including Rampur, Amethi, Lalitpur and Eta, which are presenting a new model of development with environmental conservation.

Panchayati Raj Department’s Director Amit Kumar Singh said, “On Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s directions, master plan for waste management has been prepared in Uttar Pradesh.
Under this, door-to-door waste collection has been started in gram panchayats and vermi compost production is being done.

From this initiative, more than 3 crore rupees income has been generated so far. Meanwhile, additional earning of 29 lakh rupees has been made from plastic waste management units. Under this scheme, Panchayati Raj Department is working on ‘Waste to Wealth’ model in the state.

Under Swachh Gaon Maha Abhiyan being run by Panchayati Raj Department, waste is being converted into resource. These experiments of road construction by proper utilisation of plastic waste, compost production from organic waste and increasing panchayats’ income are proving to be milestone in direction of making every village of state clean, self-reliant and empowered.
Innovative experiments will be done in every village of state through this scheme.

According to Panchayati Raj Department’s Director Amit Kumar Singh, department is committed to strengthen gram panchayats through innovation. With village-to-village cleanliness campaign, not only environment is being protected from utilisation of plastic waste, but income worth crores of rupees is also being generated.

Protein supplements are everywhere, but how do you know what’s really inside? This lab test gives a clear picture of what you’re consuming.

After testing the chocolate flavour last year, Trustified decided to retest B Green’s product with a new flavour. The orange flavour wasn’t available from third-party sellers, so the testers had to order it directly from the brand’s website using two anonymous accounts. 

The uncut unboxing video shows exactly how the product arrived. Only one sealed product from the same batch number was sent to the laboratory for detailed analysis.

Protein Test Results: Nutritional Accuracy Results

The first level of testing looked at basic nutrition per serving. One scoop of B Green Plant Protein weighs 36 grams, and the company claims it contains 22.32 grams of protein. 

According to the lab report, each serving actually contains 23.8 grams of protein, slightly higher than advertised. Carbohydrate and fat content per serving were also tested and compared with the company’s claims, providing a full picture of the nutritional profile.

Further Testing Assures Heavy Metals Within Safe Limits

Level Two testing focused on the amino acid profile, but no significant signs were detected. Level Three checked for contaminants like melamine, and the results were below the detection limit. Heavy metal testing found only cadmium, which was within safe limits. Level Five testing for F-toxins also showed levels below detection limits. 

Finally, Level Six checked for pesticides, and most were either undetectable or below detectable limits. Only elemental copper was found, again safely within limits.

MRK Panneerselvam: The recent comments by Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) leader MRK Panneerselvam against North Indians have received backlash from several political parties including the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Janta Dal (U), Samajwadi Party (SP), All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) and Congress.

Paneerselvam while speaking to DMK partymen at an event in Chengalpattu remarked that workers from North India visit Tamil Nadu just to sell pani puri, clean tables and to work at construction sites because they have only studied Hindi.

AIADMK spokesperson Kovai Sathyan remarked that the comments of Paneerselvam were highly condemnable. Sathyan remarked North Indians visiting Tamil Nadu are beaten, raped and murdered even though all they do is to contribute to the welfare and development of the state’s economy           .

Meanwhile, DMK insisted that the comments of Paneerselvam were not wrong or derogatory. It was commented by DMK spokesperson T K S Elangovan that they only highlight the plight of how states ruled by BJP treated their own people.

BJP spokesperson Shehzad Poonawala took to X saying that bad-mouthing about North Indians is not new to politicians from the state of Tamil Nadu.

Shehzad referred to the 2026 speech of DMK MP Dayanidhi Maran when he said North Indian girls are told to stay home, bear children and work in the kitchen.

Shehzad also referred to DMK minister Durai Murugan who referred to the culture of North India as filthy and disgusting involving multiple spouses. The BJP spokesperson also referred to DMK minister TRB Rajaa who had remarked that women in North India are first asked about the jobs of their husbands.

Built on an area of 83.38 square metres and a super area of 104.71 square metres, these residential flats can be availed till February 18, 2026 by visiting the GNIDA website or GNIDA SBI Tender website. The scheme code is BHS17/LOF-05.

Greater Noida News-Reserve Price

The reserve price of these GNIDA flats is Rs 73.2 lakh and Rs 74.3 lakh. The available flats are located on the 1st and 15th floors of the GNIDA building.

The area is close to the upcoming Noida Jewar Airport as well as the Eastern and Western Dedicated Freight Corridors.

Processing Fee

The processing fee is Rs. 5000 plus 18 percent GST. This non-refundable amount is required to be deposited online via payment gateway or netbanking on the website of GNIDA. The last date for registration is February 18, 2026. Interested buyers can make an upfront payment or pay the total amount in 4 installments, paid over a period of 2 years.

Sunil Kumar Singh, Additional Chief Executive Officer of the GNIDA, remarked the Sector Omicron 1A has seamless and direct connectivity to the 130-metre-wide road, which facilitates smooth and uninterrupted access to other parts of Greater Noida. The flats are already constructed and their possession could be immediately handed after successful completion of the allotment and lease deed formalities.

Registration/Earnest Money

Interested applicants are required to make a payment for adjustable amount equivalent to 10 percent of the residential flat’s total premium for which the application is being submitted.

Successful applicants would have to deposit allotment money that is equivalent to 25 percent of the flat’s total premium within a period of 15 days from the date of allotment letter issue. The period of lease is 9 years and the mortgage permission fee is Rs. 5000.

RBI Repo Rate: According to a report by Nuvama Research, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) is likely to keep the policy repo rate (the interest rate at which RBI lends money to commercial banks in times of fund shortage) unchanged, maintaining a neutral stance in the upcoming Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) review.

The report stated that the country’s top bank is likely to maintain a “neutral” stance on February 6, 2026. The Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) of RBI would announce the policy review decision by Governor Sanjay Malhotra. Experts believe the repo rate may stay unchanged at 5.25 percent amid robust gross domestic product (GDP) growth forecasts of 7 percent and inflation around 2.0-2.25 percent.

RBI Repo Rate-No Change Possible

Keeping the repo rate unchanged would signal stability in a benign inflationary environment. This would also help in supporting economic growth without “overheating” the Indian economy to align seamlessly with the growth theme of Union Budget 2026-27.

Steady rates would ensure that borrowing costs remain predictable for all stakeholders, enabling private investment to complement government spending on schemes such as India Semiconductor Mission 2.0 and Biopharma SHAKTI.

The neutral stance keeping in mind the concept of Viksit Bharat 2047 and a $30-40 trillion GDP by 2047 could help in sustaining momentum in priority sectors such as energy transition and digital infrastructure. It would foster a positive and powerful environment for job creation via services growth and Yuva Shakti initiatives.

Would RBI Defy Odds To Hike Repo Rate? Impact Explained

Though highly unlikely, a repo rate increase to 5.5-5.75 percent would raise the borrowing costs for banks in India. This could translate to higher loan EMIs for cars, businesses and homes, curbing investment and spending.

It may tighten liquidity, potentially slowing down the growth of GDP to prioritize inflation taming of pressures rise from global tariffs or food prices, while strengthening the Indian rupee through foreign inflows. Om Birla: Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla has remarked that he had received observations and intelligence within the Lok Sabha that Congress MPs were planning to approach the podium of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi to create a ruckus and do something untoward.

Birla said he feared that something bad could happen to the Indian PM. The Lok Sabha Speaker further remarked that the occurrence of such an event could have been highly unpleasant and a dark day for the Indian democracy. Om Birla added that it was him who prevented PM Modi from entering the Lok Sabha on Wednesday.

On Wednesday evening, women opposition MPs gheraoed the empty chair of PM Modi. The Bharatiya Janata Party alleged that it was all part of a premeditated plan to “attack” the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Now, the statement by Om Birla has lent support and weight to the allegations of BJP.

Yesterday, Birla issued a warning to the opposition party members that their continued march towards the treasury benches was in conflict with the House’s dignity. On Thursday, Birla adjourned proceedings of the Lok Sabha till 12 pm after he expressed anguish over the conduct and unruly behaviour of opposition MPs on Wednesday evening.

The Lok Sabha speaker added that such unruly behaviour and conduct by elected members of Lok Sabha and representatives of the country’s entire population is a shame. Birla added that such kind of a behaviour degrades the laid-down dignity and decorum. He went on to comment that such an environment makes it difficult for any Presiding Officer to run the Lok Sabha.

At the time of the incident as claimed by Om Birla, PM Modi was not present in the House. PP Chaudhary, a member from the BJP, was making remarks on the Motion of Thanks in the context of the Indian President’s Address when members of opposition parties start marching into the Well of the House.

Netflix Confirms Season 5 Even Before S4 Wrap Up

While Season 4 continues to create buzz, Netflix has officially confirmed that The Great Indian Kapil Show will return for Season 5. The announcement was made during Netflix India’s slate event.

Netflix India chief Monika Shergill spoke about the renewal and said, “It’s the first fifth that we are doing and we are really excited for it.”

The event itself was filled with fun moments. Navjot Singh Sidhu suggested that Kapil Sharma, Sunil Grover, Krushna Abhishek and Kiku Sharda deserved the Padma Shri for their contribution to Indian comedy. He also referred to Kapil and Sunil’s old mid-flight fallout.

Sunil Grover recreated the viral “baby slowly, slowly” song, which had earlier gone viral when he sang it with Priyanka Chopra on the show. The cast soon joined in, turning it into a cheerful group moment.
