Strait Of Hormuz: For years, China has been successfully bypassing sanctions of the United States and other countries to import Iranian oil at highly discounted prices. In 2021, the “Dragon” signed a strategic partnership by pairing cheap oil with massive Chinese investment while opening the doors to expanded influence. Now, China is all set to become the kingmaker in the ongoing Middle East crisis by playing a critical role at the strategic Strait of Hormuz.

Nearly 1/5th of the world’s oil flows via this thin artery and any disruptions here could send shockwaves across continents.

For decades, Beijing has been quietly “acquiring” lands and infrastructure of different countries such as Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nepal and Bhutan. In the case of Iran, China kept on buying sanctioned Iranian oil, tanker after tanker. Interestingly, this wasn’t just opportunism but preparation.

Today, the Strait of Hormuz has become a pressure point once again. The Islamic Republic of Iran has choked the Strait due to the Middle East crisis. This has disrupted the supplies of critical products such as natural gas, LPG and PNG for countries like India.

China has quietly positioned itself at the centre of supply chains during a crisis via established and often opaque channels. Now imagine, a country that is equivalent or even superior to the United States and way ahead of other countries like Germany, France and the United Kingdom in revenue and arms has complete access to Iranian oil.

For countries like India, control of Iranian oil in the hands of China could spell dangers in countless forms. Expensive power generation, increased government subsidies, slowed industrial growth, higher fuel costs, shortage of basic essentials and strained financial resources.

If a major disruption occurs, the world may wake up to a new reality. And for countries like India, the cost of that shift could be measured not just in currency but in vulnerability. Namo Bharat Station: The National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) has announcing commissioning of the country’s largest electric vehicle (EV) charging facility on the popular Delhi Meerut Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) corridor at East Delhi’s Anand Vihar Namo Bharat Station.

The station has been equipped with 10 out-of-the-box fast-charging units. The existing facility could support the simultaneous charging of around 10 four-wheeled electric vehicles at a time with each unit having a capacity of 480 kW. Four-wheeler vehicles under optimal operating conditions could achieve up to 80 percent charge within 30 minutes.

Namo Bharat Station Facilities For EV Charging

The Namo Bharat Station would also feature dedicated charging infrastructure for heavy commercial electric vehicles such as buses and trucks. This would help in addressing critical gaps in the region’s existing electric vehicle charging ecosystem. In most cities of the country, electric charging for large vehicles is presently unavailable or highly limited. The inclusion of such facilities at the Namo Bharat Station would help in supporting the adoption of electric mobility in the Delhi NCR region.

With the latest addition, electric vehicle charging services would now be available at 8 stations along with corridor – Duhai, Muradnagar, Modinagar South, Sahibabad, Guldhar, Meerut South, Modinagar North and Anand Vihar.

How To Avail?

Interested individuals could download the “ElectreeFi” mobile application that is presently available on Google Play Store. Users would be required to register on the mobile app and book an online charging slot at their preferred choice of EV charging station. Once booked, their vehicle could be charged within just few minutes. Interestingly, the app also facilitates charging status monitoring in real-time and enables digital payments.

Prime Minister inaugurated the 82-kilometer Delhi-Meerut Namo Bharat corridor in February. Developed at the cost of Rs. 30,000 crore, the project cuts the otherwise enormous and congested time from Delhi to Meerut to less than an hour.

On its 18th day, Dhurandhar 2 collected a net of ₹28.75 Cr across 14,229 shows, showing a 12.1% growth compared to yesterday’s net of ₹25.65 Cr. This steady rise is a testament to the film’s staying power and audience pull, even beyond the initial hype.

Total India Collections So Far 

The film’s total India gross collections have now touched an astonishing ₹1,213.74 Cr, with net collections standing at ₹1,013.77 Cr. Clearly, the movie continues to dominate screens across the country, resonating with viewers of all age groups.

Overseas Performance 

The magic isn’t limited to India. On Day 18, the film raked in ₹7.00 Cr overseas, bringing the total overseas gross to ₹392.00 Cr. The strong international performance highlights the film’s global appeal and the growing fan base of its franchise.

Worldwide Gross: Breaking Records 

With the latest numbers, Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge now boasts a worldwide gross of ₹1,605.74 Cr. This is not just a figure it’s a reflection of a film that keeps audiences coming back, long after its initial release.

Himanta Biswa Sarma: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has refuted the claims of Congress Leader Pawan Khera that his wife holds the passports of UAE, Antigua-Barbuda and Egypt. Sarma remarked that the press conference materials used by Congress leaders Gaurav Gogoi and Pawan Khera were allegedly supplied by a social media group from Pakistan. The Assam CM also alleged that there has been a massive surge in upcoming Assam assembly elections from Pakistan and a wave of support for the Congress party.

Recently, Khera alleged that Sarma’s wife Riniki Bhuyan has three different passports. Khera also claimed that Riniki has a series of undisclosed business interests outside the country. Khera went on to allege that the Sarma family holds several properties in Dubai and companies in USA.

Himanta Biswa Sarma Reaction

Reacting to the passport allegations, Himanta Biswa Sarma remarked that the Congress has a long history of using fabricated documents to influence state election outcomes. Sarma warned Khera and others of life imprisonment for such behaviour in the future.

Sarma went on to remark that confirmations from the Indian government and Dubai authorities clearly indicate that the passport-in-question was fake and not genuine.

Sarma added that a FIR has been lodged by his wife, Riniki Bhuyan Sharma. The Assam CM said the police would register the case and take the required actions as per the appropriate sections of the Indian law.

Pakistani PC Materials

Sarma added that at least 11 talk shows have been conducted by Pakistani channels in the last 10 days regarding the Assam Assembly elections 2026. Sarma said that such trends have been completely unprecedented and the conclusion in each of these talk shows is that the Congress party should emerge as the winner.

These developments come just a few days before the upcoming Assam Assembly Elections 2026 that start on April 9 in a single phase across the state’s 126 constituencies. The counting of votes is scheduled by the Election Commission of India for May 4.
