Bihar election live updates – NDA has won 123 seats till now

In the assembly election results, the NDA has beaten the Grand Alliance and reached close to the majority figure.

As per the latest data, the NDA alliance is leading in 123 seats as opposed to the Grand Alliance, which is ahead in 113 seats. The majority mark in the 243-member Bihar Assembly is 122.

Amit Shah tweeted that- Every section of Bihar has once again waved the NDA’s developmentism by denying hollow politics, casteism and appeasement politics.

Sushil Modi said, “For the fourth time NDA has got the opportunity to serve in Bihar. We want to thank all the leaders. There is a saying, Khisiyani cat Khamba Noche. Some time ago the people of RJD and Congress have met the Election Commission. At first these people opposed to hold elections. During the election, Rahul Gandhi told EVM Modi Modi voting machine. I am confident that tomorrow all the RJD leaders will blame the EVMs.

IPL 2020: Mumbai Indians beat Delhi Capitals

Mumbai Indians proved their worth once again, booked their place in the Indian Premier League 2020 final where they face Delhi Capitals.

With this win, Mumbai added a fifth IPL title to their kitty, more than any other team in the 13-year history of the league. Chasing 157 to win, Mumbai got 33 off the first three overs as Quinton de Kock tore into the Delhi bowlers.

MI took the big prize without much fuss, reaching a 157-run target with eight balls to spare. Skipper Rohit Sharma (68, 51b, 5×4, 4×6), not in the best form this season, saved his best for last.

Standing at the pole position with 670 runs Kings skipper KL Rahul of Kings XI Punjab finished top in the run race to win the Orange Cap.

Delhi Capitals’ Kagiso Rabada won the Purple Cap after finishing at the top of the table with a total of 30 wickets at the end of IPL 2020. 

Mumbai Indians have earlier won the IPL trophy in 2013, 2015, 2017 and 2019. The only time they did not win the title after reaching the finale was in 2010 when they lost to Chennai Super Kings.

This was the first final match for DC in history. They defeated Sunriser Hyderabad by 17 runs in Qualifier 2 on Sunday to qualify for the final.

According to the results and trends of Bihar assembly elections, the return of NDAA is almost certain. The NDA has maintained its strong lead over 123 seats. Earlier on Tuesday, after the counting of votes for the last 13 hours, the ruling National Democratic Alliance has so far won 29 seats while the opposition Grand Alliance has got 28 seats. Looking at the trends, the NDA seems to be getting a simple majority. At the same time, PM Narendra Modi can reach BJP headquarters at 10 pm.

According to data from the Election Commission of India website, BJP has won six seats while JDU has won two seats and VIP Party has won two seats. As per trends, BJP is leading in 67 seats while JDU is leading in 40 seats, Hum three and VIP Party in three seats. In the opposition grand alliance, RJD has six seats in the account and is leading on 69. The Congress has won two seats and is leading in 18 seats. The CPI (M) has won one seat and is leading by two. The CPI was leading in three seats and CPI Male in 12 seats.

Mandana-led Trailblazers wins the Women T20 Challenge by defeating Supernova

In the final match of the Women’s T20 Challenge played in Sharjah, the Trailblazers, captained by Smriti Mandhana, won the Women’s T20 Challenge title for the first time by defeating the Supernovas led by Harmanpreet Kaur by 16 runs.

Cricket Australia allows spectators at day night Test against India

Cricket Australia (CA) announced on Tuesday that the first day-night Test against India at the Adelaide Oval from 17 December will have 27,000 spectators, which is 50 per cent of the stadium’s capacity.

Cricket matches are being played without spectators in a bio-safe environment amid Corona virus epidemic. There will be spectators in the series between India and Australia though. The Indian team will play three ODIs, three T20s and four Tests in Australia.

The tour will begin with the first ODI in Sydney on 27 November. The Test series will be played in Adelaide from 17 December. According to Cricket.com.com, ’50 percent of the spectator capacity will be sold at Adelaide Oval, which means 27000 tickets will be available for every day.’

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has fined former Pakistan captain Sarfraz Ahmed for violating the code of conduct during the Qaid-e-Azam Trophy.

In this year’s assembly elections, BJP is leading in 73 seats out of 110 seats, which is the highest number of seats of any party in this election. At the same time, RJD is getting 67 seats on the second number, but had fielded candidates for 144 seats. At the same time, the Grand Alliance led by Tejashwi Yadav is getting an edge over 106 seats. Of these, RJD was leading in 67 out of 144 seats and Congress in 20 seats out of 70. At the same time, the Left parties have an edge over 29 of the 18 seats.

Bihar Election Results: Tej Pratap Yadav wins Hasanpur seat by a margin of close to 20,000 votes.

Hasanpur seat is located in the Samastipur district of Bihar but comes under the Khagaria Lok Sabha constituency.

Tej Pratap Yadav, who had plunged into electoral politics winning from Mahua assembly constituency in Vaishali district in 2015 elections, left it this time and chose to enter into fray from the Hasanpur seat.

The electorate gender ratio in Hasanpur in 2020 is =CP142/CM142*1000.

In the 2015 polls, there were a total of 2,61,721 eligible electors, of which 1,38,962 were male, 1,22,750 female and 9 voters of the third gender.

Meanwhile, results have been declared for 31 seats, according to the Election Commission website, with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) winning 10 seats, the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) eight and the Janata Dal (United) (JD(U)) six and Indian National Congress (INC) two, among others.

Tej Pratap Yadav is the eldest son among the seven daughters and two sons of two former chief ministers of Bihar, Lalu Prasad Yadav and his wife Rabri Devi.

Hasanpur Assembly Seat previous results

Only 1,000 voters were allowed to vote in each polling booth, due to which the number of EVMs also increased. According to the information, 63 percent more EVMs have been used in these elections.

Bihar Election Commission Chief Electoral Officer HR Srinivas said that this time the announcement of election results in Bihar will take more time than last time as the number of polling stations is 45 percent. According to the Election Commission, this time the number of polling stations was double but the number of tables was not increased. Earlier the number of polling stations was 72,723, which increased to 1,06,515 this time.

This time the number of voters at each polling station was fixed from 1,000 to 1,500, so as to ensure social distance. For this, the number of polling stations had to increase. Bihar’s Deputy Election Commissioner Bihar Chandra Bhushan Kumar said, “We hope that according to the process, the counting of votes will be finished tonight.”

He said that in the 2015 assembly elections, the counting of votes was done at 38 places, but this time, counting is being done at 55 places to ensure social distance. This time the number of tables in each hall has been reduced from 14 to seven. Bhushan said that counting of votes will be held in different constituencies in 19 to 51 rounds.

Deputy Election Commissioner Sudeep Jain, in charge of EVMs, while answering some questions regarding the reliability of EVMs, said that there can be no “tampering” of the machine and the Supreme Court has several times justified the use of this device.

Kangana Ranaut calls for Arnab Goswami’s release, attacks Maharashtra govt

Kangana Ranaut has demaded the release of journalist Arnab Goswami who is in judicial custody in a 2018 abetment to suicide case.

On Monday, the Bombay High Court had rejected Goswami’s Interim Bail. Now, the journalist have approached the Supreme Court challenging the order.

Punjab govt withdraws general consent to CBI to probe in the state

After Maharashtra, Punjab has also announced to withdraw its general consent to the Central Bureau Investigation(CBI) to probe across the geographical boundaries of the state.

In view of revocation of all previous general consents issued earlier, prior consent of the government of Punjab shall be required, hereinafter, on a case-to-case basis for investigation of any offence or class of offences under Section 3 of the aforesaid Act, by the Delhi Special Police Establishment,” reads Punjab government’s notification published in the state government gazette on November 8.

The move by the governement led by Captain Amarinder Singh means that the CBI will now have to seek permission from the state government to investigate cases in the state.

Jharkhand, Rajasthan, West Bengal, Maharashtra, Kerala and Chhattisgarh are other states that have withdrawn the general consent accorded to the CBI to exercise its powers under the Delhi Special Police Establishment (DPSE) Act.

“The general consent granted to the CBI under Section 6 of the DPSE Act has been revoked. If the CBI has to investigate any offence or class of offences related to the state, prior consent of the Punjab government will be required on a case-to-case basis,” Hindustan Times quoted a senior officer familiar with the matter.

While states can deny general consent to CBI to probe cases in future, they do not have the power to withdraw the consent given in the retrospective dates.

Last month, Uddhav Thackeray-led Maharashtra government had withdrawn the general consent to CBI to probe after UP police had handed over its TRP scam case to CBI.

Meanwhile, for Punjab, the withdrawal comes at a time when the state government is agitated with central government over its contentious farm laws.
