While his openers KL Rahul and Mayank Agarwal are scoring runs for Punjab, the batting of T20 specialists like Glenn Maxwell in the middle order has been silent. Maxwell has scored only 58 runs so far this season. However, he has now broken the silence on his poor performance. He says that his roles in the IPL keep changing while he has had only one role in the Australian team for years.

Maxwell said, “When you come together in the IPL for only two months in a year, the role of every player in the team changes. You always look for the best team balance. The team combination tournament that you start Before it seems right, it does not fit with the progress of the tournament. I think we are getting very close to that team balance. I have had a lot of experiences in my IPL career, where I have come to expect people I have not been able to perform accordingly. However, there has never been any lack of effort from my side. “

IPL 2020: Chris Gayle sets to play his first game of this season RCB

Kings XI Punjab’s Caribbean batsman Chris Gayle has recovered from stomach pain (Food Poisoning) and may get his chance to play his first match in the IPL 2020 against RCB on 15 October.

The team’s head coach Anil Kumble said that Gayle could not play in the match against Sunrisers Hyderabad due to ‘Food Poisoning’. The 41-year-old explosive batsman did not play a match against Kolkata Knight Riders on Saturday. Gayle shared a picture from the hospital on social media, while Kings XI Punjab on Monday released a picture of Gayle returning to training.

Sources in the team said, “He is healthy now and is expected to play in the match against RCB (Thursday)”. Later, Dhoni and Ravindra Jadeja stitched a crucial partnership to take CSK to 167 runs. For Hyderabad, Sandeep Sharma took 2 wickets for by giving just 19 runs.

While chasing, Hyderabad lost their top three batsmen in quick succession. Kane Williamson scored a gritty 57 run knock but it went in vain. Ravindra Jadeja picked was adjudged as the player of the match for his all-round contribution.

“I think with our team and the depth that we have, we’re always going to be one short either way. It would have been nice to have an extra batter today, but you’ve got to weigh the pros and cons,” Warner said after the match.

“I thought 160 was the right total to go after, but anything above that was always going to be difficult. Having 6-7 bowlers in the team helps. It’s difficult to play against bowlers who can swing the ball. There’s always a challenge in the powerplay, but you have to take on the bowlers,” he said.

Russia Approves Second Covid-19 Vaccine

Russia has granted regulatory approval to a second Covid-19 vaccine—even though the drug has yet to begin large scale Phase-III trials—two months after it greenlit another vaccine that experts expressed caution over due to lack of adequate safety and efficacy data.

“We need to increase the production of our first and now our second vaccine,” Putin said. “First of all, we should supply the domestic market.” Russia will also work with foreign partners to boost output, he said.

The peptide-based vaccine, named EpiVacCorona, is the second to be licensed for use in Russia.

A shot developed by Moscow’s Gamaleya Institute, Sputnik V, was licensed for domestic use in August.

A large-scale human trial of EpiVacCorona is likely to begin in November or December, the TASS news agency cited the consumer safety watchdog Rospotrebnadzor, which oversees the institute, as saying this month.

Vector’s EpiVacCorona vaccine was tested on only a limited number of people before receiving provisional registration.

There were 100 volunteers in Phase 1 and 2 trials and all feel fine, Vector General Director Rinat Maksyutov said last week.

A case has been registered against Bolllywood actor Kangana Ranaut in Tumakuru district of Karnataka over her anti-farmers tweet.

The case was registered on Monday on the recent order of a local court over actor’s alleged tweet which target farmers protesting against the controversial farm laws.

Kangana had compared farm laws to CAA(Citizenship Amendment Act). Calling them “terrorists”, Kangana had said people who protested against CAA are same who are now protesting against Centre’s farm bills.

“People who spread misinformation and rumours about CAA (Citizenship Amendment Act) that caused riots are the same people who are now spreading misinformation about Farmers bill and causing terror in the nation, they are terrorists,” she had tweeted on September 21.

The case has been registered under Indian Penal Code (IPC) sections, including 108 (abetment), wanton vilification upon a community (153A) and intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of peace (504), police said.

The FIR against the actor was filed on October 9 after an order from a local court. The Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC) directed Kyathasandra police station to register an FIR against the actress on the basis of a complaint by a lawyer L Ramesh Naik.

“My case against popular Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut is not to gain any publicity but to convey to her that what she did was wrong. I need clarification on this and therefore I am fighting this case,” Naik told IANS.

Delhi govt tells CBSE to postpone board exams to May, further reduce syllabus

Delhi Government has written a letter to the Central Board of Secondary Education, CBSE, urging it to postpone the March 2021 Board Examinations to May.

The state government has also asked the central board to consider reducing the CBSE 10th 12th Board Exam 2021 syllabus further, as the schools continue to remain closed due to the coronavirus pandemic.

While the Centre has laid out guidelines to reopen the schools and educational institutions, many states, including Maharashtra, Karnataka, West Bengal, Odisha have decided to keep the schools closed at least October 31.

“Though online, semi-online teaching-learning activities are being conducted through live classes as well as worksheets or activity sheets it cannot replace the physical classroom teaching-learning process,” the DoE said in the letter.

The government had requested the Board to waive the fees this year, but the Board said it is not possible to do so. The government, which had covered this fee last year, is not doing so this year citing a revenue crunch.

The educational institutes across the country, including schools and universities, were shut down on March 16 to control and limit the spread of the Covid-19 virus among the students. While several restrictions have been eased gradually in different phases of the ”unlock” since June 8, educational institutions continue to remain closed.

The Ministry of Home Affairs recently released the Unlock 5 guidelines, in which it stated that schools, colleges, and other educational institutions outside Covid-19 containment zones can reopen after October 15.

‘Shame On Vijay Sethupathi’ trends as netizen express anger over Muralitharan biopic

Biopics in India have remained in trends for quite some time now. And if the bipoic is on a cricketer, the topic surely adds weight.

In the past years, we have seen biopics on MS Dhoni and Mohammad Azharuddin, both, turned out to be massive hits. Now, South Indian makers have turned to neigbouring countries for the next cricketing venture. A biopic on Muttiah Muralitharan, the highest wicket-taker in international cricket, has been in progress.

On Tuesday, the makers unveiled official motion poster of the film which showed Vijay Sethupathi stepping into the shoes of former cricketer. The film titled 800 will be set against the backdrop of the civil war that thrashed Sri Lanka for over two decades.

The motion poster featured the journey of Muralitharan acknowedging his passion for cricket and training hard to achieve his goal.

While the motion poster looked convincing, fans are criticizing Vijay Sethupathi for supporting a film on Sri Lankan cricketer.

The reason behind the displeasure is Muralitharan’s controversial statements over the years. It is also said that the spin legend had also lent his support to ruling Rajpaksha family during the long civil war between Sri Lanka government and Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE). He had also received flak back in 2009 when he had denied genocide of Tamils during the clash.

Now, netizens have taken to Twitter to oppose the film. They have expressed strong anger and disapproval over the film.

A user wrote, “If Any Hindi actors plays the role of Pakistan player with pakistani flags all around the film. Didn’t hurt your sentiments fellow Indians. Please understand the feelings of Tamils”

“I stand with the sentiments of Tamil Diaspora, concerning this movie, Murali 800. I never will watch, share or encourage anyone to watch this movie in my circle. I completely boycott this film and will do so.”

Check out some more tweets:

800 was announced in July this year. The makers originally wanted to release the film by the end of 2020, but their plans were halted by the covid-19 pandemic.

The film will be made in Tamil and will be released in several languages across the world.
