Rani Mukerji Viral Video: Mardaani 3 actress is back in the spotlight ahead of the film’s release. Several old interview clips of the actress are going viral on social media, leading to fresh debates and mixed reactions from netizens.

While one recent clip saw Rani being criticised for her views on relationships, another resurfaced video has grabbed attention for a different reason. In another video that has grabbed attention, the discussion is about how she landed a role in Shah Rukh Khan’s iconic film Kuch Kuch Hota Hai.

The viral video (shared widely on Reddit) features filmmaker Karan Johar revealing that it was Aditya Chopra who recommended Rani Mukerji for the 1998 blockbuster. The clip has once again sparked conversations around nepotism in Bollywood.

Rani Mukerji Viral Video Sparks Nepotism Debate

In the interview, Karan Johar shares that Rani Mukerji was not his original choice for Kuch Kuch Hota Hai. He explains how Aditya Chopra played an important role in shaping both his and Rani’s journeys.

Karan tells Rani Mukerji, “It was actually Adi who called me and recommended me to you. And do you remember that meeting? We were sitting just so that you could compose yourself. I just said there was a teaser at that time. Again it was Aditya Chopra’s idea. I think he’s such a part of my entire journey. Rani’s journey, consciously and subconsciously. He gave me the idea. That teaser where Rani is sitting with baby Anjali.”

The revelation did not go down well with a section of social media users. One user shared the video on Reddit and wrote, “What kjo is to nepos is what Aditya Chopra is to Rani Mukerji.”

This comment triggered a flood of reactions. Some users accused Aditya Chopra of favouring his now-wife Rani. Others argued that connections have always existed in the film industry and are nothing new.

Many users pointed out that while industry support may help actors get opportunities, talent is what keeps them going. A user said, “I don’t like Rani as a person, but she is a phenomenal actor.” Another user commented, Bollywood has always worked like this. Your connections bring the opportunities to you.”

A user called Rani a “Nepo Biwi.” A fan defended her and added, “Rani Talent >>>>>>>>>>> Alia Jhanvi.”

Kerala Viral Video: A video from Palakkad, Kerala, has gone viral on social media after it showed an elderly woman stepping out of a car and offering Namaz at a busy road junction, briefly halting traffic and drawing widespread public reaction. The incident, captured on camera by bystanders, has reignited debate over the use of public spaces for personal expression and protest.

What the Viral Video Shows

The video shows the woman prostrating on the road at a crowded junction while vehicles wait and horns blare in the background. Traffic movement was reportedly disrupted for around ninety seconds as commuters and pedestrians watched the unexpected scene unfold. The clip quickly circulated across platforms, prompting mixed reactions ranging from concern to criticism.

Police Response and Explanation

According to local police, the woman was briefly detained by Palakkad South Police to prevent further disruption and ensure public safety. During questioning, she told officers that her act was not religious outreach, but a form of protest linked to a family property dispute.

Police officials stated that the situation was handled calmly. Her relatives were informed, the junction was cleared, and normal traffic resumed shortly after.

No Legal Action Taken

Local media reports, including Times of India and Mathrubhumi, confirmed that no formal charges were filed against the woman. Authorities treated the matter as a situational disturbance rather than a criminal offence, citing her age and the personal nature of the grievance.

Public Reaction and Online Debate

The incident triggered intense discussion online. Some netizens expressed shock over traffic disruption in a public space, while others urged restraint and sensitivity given the woman’s age and circumstances. Several commentators pointed to the broader issue of how individuals choose public spaces to voice personal disputes.

Larger Questions on Public Space and Protest

The episode highlights ongoing tensions in India’s urban environments, where religion, personal grievances, and public order often intersect. It also raises questions about appropriate platforms for protest and the role of authorities in balancing empathy with civic discipline.

UGC New Rules Row: SC Rejects New Regulations, 2012 Regulations To Be Followed Till New Notification, Joy Among General Category Students

UGC New Rules Row

UGC New Rules Row: The Supreme Court (SC) of India has outrightly rejected the Promotion of Equity in Higher Education Institutions Regulations, 2026 by the University Grants Commission (UGC). The Court ordered that the UGC regulations of 2012 would stay in force unless a new notification is allowed by it. The matter will be next heard on March 19.

Chief Justice of India Surya Kant ruled that the new UGC regulations are vague in nature and appear discriminatory per se in its choice of words. The court ruled that the regulation wordings appeared to favour certain groups while arbitrarily excluding others.

UGC New Rules Row-SC Ruling

The SC ruled that the University Grants Commission (Promotion of Equity in Higher Education Institutions) Regulations, which were notified on January 23, 2026, were exclusionary, discriminatory, arbitrary and in violation of the Indian Constitution as well as the UGC Act, 1956.

The new UGC regulations caused massive uproar among teachers, students, political parties and social groups over the definition of caste-based discrimination in the UGC regulations.

Joy Among General Category Students

The Court ruled that the new UGC regulations undermined the principles of fairness, equity, transparency and accountability. The SC decision effectively brings an abrupt halt to the implementation of the new UGC regulations, preserving the status quo under the 2012 framework, which emphasizes balanced promotion criteria without the contested caste-specific clauses.

The SC verdict has been greeted with joy with students belonging to the general category along with many political parties, social media users and teachers of the country.

Broader Implications for Higher Education

The SC decision is more than just a procedural win. It is a massive moment for the educational landscape of the country. The UGC would now have to redraft rules within constitutional framework. Many in the political circles believe that the Supreme Court verdict is a testament against “divisive” politics and policies.

Ranveer Singh: ‘Toxic PR Is Working Hard…’ Why Are Netizens Accusing Yash’s Team Amid FIR Against Dhurandhar Actor? Check

Ranveer Singh Faces FIR, Toxic makers accused

Ranveer Singh is back in the headlines after a fresh FIR was registered against him in Bengaluru. This comes weeks after the controversy around his mimicry of a Daiva scene from Rishab Shetty‘s Kantara Chapter 1. While the actor had already faced criticism and issued a public apology, the timing of this new FIR has triggered fresh debate online.

The delay in legal action has raised questions among netizens. Many are wondering whether the FIR is purely legal or if there is something more behind it. Social media (especially Reddit) is buzzing with theories linking the issue to upcoming film releases and industry rivalry.

According to NDTV, the FIR was registered on Wednesday at the High Grounds Police Station in Bengaluru. This development comes over a month after the alleged incident, which has only added fuel to online speculation.

FIR Against Ranveer Singh Sparks ‘Toxic PR’ Claims Online

The FIR accuses Ranveer Singh of allegedly hurting Hindu religious sentiments and insulting the Chavundi Daiva tradition of coastal Karnataka. The case has been registered under Sections 196, 299, and 302 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). The complaint was filed by Bengaluru-based advocate Prashanth Methal.

Many online users found it strange that a fresh FIR was filed so long after the incident, especially since Ranveer had already faced complaints and apologised publicly. Some believe it is negative PR by Yash’s Toxic team ahead of a clash with Dhurandhar Part 2, while others feel it is a publicity move to create buzz before Dhurandhar’s OTT release.

Have a look at some comments on Reddit below

“Ho gaya bhai ho gaya. Why ain’t people moving on?”

“That IFFI event was 2 months ago. Itna late FIR? After uproar, he apologised for the insensitive mimicry. Ab FIR se kya naya hoga? another apology?”

“Seriously?!? I thought this matter was done and dusted.”

“After 2 months lol Toxic Pr is working hard! Funniest thing will be them delaying toxic release at very last moment after Dhurandhar 2 teaser drops…let’s see who has the last laugh.”

“Bas kardo toxic ka pr ab bass kar de bhai.”

“Netflix promotion begins itna bhi obvious nahi hona tha.”

What The FIR Says About The Daiva Scene Controversy

As per the FIR, the alleged incident took place on November 28, 2025, during the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Goa. The complaint claims that Ranveer made derogatory remarks and performed a stage act that mocked sacred elements of the Daiva tradition.

It further alleges that he imitated expressions linked to Panjurli and Guliga Daiva in a crude and comical manner. The complaint also states that he referred to Chavundi Daiva as a “female ghost,” which deeply hurt religious sentiments.

According to the complainant, Chavundi Daiva is a revered guardian deity symbolising divine feminine energy in coastal Karnataka. Misrepresenting the deity was described as offensive and disrespectful.

The matter has now been referred to the 1st Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) Court in Bengaluru. The next hearing is scheduled for April 8. A private complaint was earlier filed on December 27, after which the court ordered the registration of an FIR on January 23.

‘We Are Failing To Instil Fear Into Monsters Who…’ Bhumi Pednekar Questions System After 6-Year-Old’s Gang Rape By Three Minor Boys

Actress Bhumi Pednekar has expressed anger after reports of a six-year-old girl allegedly gang-raped by three boys( aged 10, 13 and 14) in northeast Delhi’s Bhajanpura. The incident (which took place on January 18) has shocked the nation and sparked widespread outrage on social media. Bhumi called the accused MONSTERS and questioned the system for failing to prevent such crimes.

Here’s what Bhumi Pednekar Said

On Wednesday, Bhumi Pednekar took to Instagram Stories to repost an article on the case and share her anger. She wrote, “What is going on… We clearly are failing cause we haven’t, till now been unable to instil fear into these monsters who think they can get away with sexual violence.”

The Bhakshak actress highlighted how minor issues like street dogs are often sensationalised, while the safety of children remains overlooked. Bhumi said, “Breaks my heart to see underage boys go through with something so heinous. Imagine the environments they are growing up in. We are punishing the voiceless in our country, and have sensationalised dogs being a threat.”

She said, “What about the fact that a 6-year-old isn’t safe on our streets and actually no child is, cause in this case the perpetrators are also the victims. Wake up, India.”

All About Bhajanpura Gang Rape Case

Police said that two of the accused boys have been caught, while the third boy and his family are reportedly missing. Deputy Commissioner of Police (North East) Ashish Mishra confirmed the incident and said that legal action has been initiated, without giving further details.

The girl’s mother told the media that the assault happened around 7 pm when the child returned home bleeding. At first, the girl said she had fallen. She had been dropped at the entrance of her lane by her father after he bought her candy. The mother explained, “The boys caught her there and lured her by offering to feed her chowmein. They then took her to a nearby empty two-story building where the assault occurred. The girl told us that her hands were tied and her mouth gagged.”

The case has now been transferred to Bhajanpura Police Station, and authorities are investigating further.

India-EU FTA Deal: Grapes Sour! Scott Bessent Calls Deal ‘Disappointing,’ Says Not Fair to Team Zelensky, India Sitting Pretty, Check Why?

India-EU FTA Deal

India-EU FTA Deal: Scott Bessent, the 79th United States secretary of the treasury, has remarked that the European Union (EU) has “backstabbed” Kyiv and team Zelensky by signing a free trade deal (FTA) deal with India.

The comments of Bessent exposes the “serious” cracks in Western Unity that has been tarnished to new lows by US President Donald Trump’s obsession for Greenland and tariffs on European countries.

India-EU FTA Deal: Bessent’s Reaction

Bessent remarked that the European Union has been buying refined products made with Russian oil supplies in India. The United States secretary of the treasury remarked Europe has put trade before the sacrifices of people from Ukraine though it claims to feel too much for Ukrainian people.

Under the India-EU FTA deal, India would cut tariffs on EU exports by as much as 96.6 percent. One-third tariff reductions would become effective on an immediate basis while the pact becomes fully operational by early 2027. In contrast, the European Union would be eliminating tariffs on 99 percent of exports from India over a period of 7 years.

FTA deal-Narendra Modi’s Economic Diplomacy Win

The India-EU FTA deal would unlock a $1.5 trillion trade powerhouse for India. Sectors like Indian gems, pharmaceuticals, auto parts and textiles would gain massively. This could easily translate to export boosts by $100 billion annually.

Italian machinery, French wines, German cars and more would be more accessible to Indians. Furthermore, the European Union would be able to explore India’s 1.4 billion consumers, especially after the US markets have tightened policies for EU under Trump’s protectionism.

Why is India “Sitting Pretty”?

The India-EU FTA deal gives India economic muscle and the leverage to explore strategic neutrality. The deal also greatly shields the country from US tariff threats while it would help EU de-risk from China.

The trade deficit of India with the European Union (currently $80 billion) could halve, creating more than 2 million jobs in export hubs such as Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra and Gujarat.

Rupee vs Dollar: Indian Rupee Falls to a Record Low of 92, Marks Two Percent Decline This Year, Check Details

Rupee Vs Dollar
Google

Rupee Vs Dollar: The Indian rupee has recently slipped to a historic low of 92 against the US dollar, marking a 2% decline this year. This decline has caught the attention of businesses, traders, and citizens across the country.

Rupee Slips to Record Low of 92

Rupee Vs Dollar: The Indian rupee has fallen to 92 against the US Dollar, marking its lowest level ever. This represents a two per cent decline this year, driven by a strong dollar, rising import costs, and economic challenges. The fall affects trade, inflation, and everyday expenses for citizens.

Why the Rupee Fell?

The rupee’s fall is influenced by several factors. A strong US dollar in global markets has put pressure on emerging currencies, such as the rupee. At the same time, rising import costs have increased the demand for dollars. Domestic economic challenges and global uncertainties have further added to the pressure.

Impact on the Economy

The weakening of the rupee affects trade and the overall economy. Import costs rise, potentially increasing prices for consumers. There are also concerns about inflation as essential goods and commodities become more expensive. Additionally, the fall may affect foreign investment, as investors closely monitor currency stability.

Effect on Citizens

The value of the Rupee affects everyday citizens because they must pay more for imported goods, which include electronics and fuel. International travel costs and household expenses are expected to rise as inflation is expected to continue.

One of Pawar’s most notable achievements is his push for large-scale irrigation projects in drought-prone regions like Marathwada and Western Maharashtra. These projects aimed to boost agricultural productivity and water availability, making irrigation a defining theme of his political legacy.

3. Power Broker in Maharashtra Politics

Ajit Pawar has emerged as a key power negotiator during government formations and political realignments. His sudden political moves and alliances have often reshaped Maharashtra’s coalition dynamics, reinforcing his image as a strategist with significant influence across party lines.

UGC New Rules Row: The Promotion of Equity in Higher Education Institutions Regulations, 2026 introduced by the University Grants Commission (UGC) have brought students from all parts of the India to the streets. Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Rajasthan and Delhi students blasted the recently introduced UGC regulations that deliberately leave out ‘general category students’ from students who can file complaints against discrimination.

The UGC regulations were initially aimed at making all UGC campuses (colleges and universities) in the country more inclusive for marginalized students, like those from Economically Weaker Sections, Scheduled Tribes, Scheduled Castes and Other Backward Classes. However, the regulations seem to have ruffled a few feathers down the line.

Stalin Extends Solidarity

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin like many opposition parties such as Congress and Samajwadi Party has come in open support for the new UGC regulations. Stalin remarked that the revisions in UGC rules were long awaited. The Tamil Nadu CM commented that there has been a surge in incidents of harassment and attacks on students from Southern India, minority communities and Kashmir.

Reaction of UP BJP Leaders

Many BJP leaders in the state of Uttar Pradesh have openly criticized the UGC regulations saying they are highly discriminative in nature. Many leaders claimed that there are no provisions of penalty against false complaints or interim protections until the case is finally decided. If this is not all, there is no mention of Muslim minorities and the new Equity Committee, along with Equity Squads and Equity Ambassadors don’t have any representation whatsoever from the ‘general’ category.

The list of challenges with the UGC regulation doesn’t end here. The process’s speedy nature demands that all complaints must be handled by the committee within 24 hours and reports need to be submitted within 15 days. Given the heavy administrative and teaching load on teachers and professors, the committee members would not be able to provide the due time and diligence required to handle delicate issues in the required timeframe.
