AAP leader Anurag Dhanda alleges political conspiracy after firing at Diljit Dosanjh manager’s house

Anurag Dhanda on Tuesday alleged a political conspiracy behind the reported firing incident at the house of singer-actor Diljit Dosanjh’s manager in Karnal, accusing the BJP of targeting Punjabis for political reasons.

Reacting to media reports about the firing incident, Dhanda claimed that gangster Lawrence Bishnoi was being given protection in Gujarat and alleged that the attack was linked to Diljit Dosanjh allegedly refusing an offer to join the BJP.

The AAP leader described the development as part of what he termed an “anti-Punjab mindset” and accused the BJP of attempting to intimidate Punjabis.

Anurag Dhanda: Firing incident reported in Karnal

The remarks came after reports emerged regarding firing outside the residence of Diljit Dosanjh’s manager in Karnal. Media reports stated that police authorities have started investigating the matter and are examining the circumstances surrounding the incident.

However, no official confirmation linking any political angle or organised gang involvement to the firing had been publicly established at the time of reporting.

Political reactions intensify

Dhanda’s remarks have intensified the political exchange over law and order and alleged targeting of public figures connected to Punjab. The BJP has not issued an immediate response to the allegations made by the AAP leader.

The incident has triggered reactions on social media, with supporters and political leaders demanding a thorough investigation into the firing case and enhanced security measures.

Good news for Punjab farmers, Bhagwant Mann Govt will not allow shortage of fertilisers in Punjab

Punjab News

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann on Wednesday called upon Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and sought his intervention for the de-notification of certain hybrid paddy seeds to ensure smooth procurement and lifting operations in Punjab during the forthcoming Kharif season, while raising a series of critical issues concerning the state’s farmers before the Centre.

During the crucial meeting in Delhi, CM Bhagwant Singh Mann secured assurances on uninterrupted fertilizer supply and groundwater conservation, demanded Punjab’s representation in the Central Seed Committee, and pressed for wheat seed subsidy allocation for 2026-27. Emphasising that Punjab’s farmers had successfully achieved the Centre’s target of 125 lakh metric tonnes of wheat production, CM Bhagwant Singh Mann asserted that the Punjab Government is now aggressively promoting crop diversification through maize, pulses, oilseeds, sunflower and bajra to reduce dependence on paddy cultivation, conserve rapidly depleting groundwater reserves and pull Punjab out of the dangerous dark zone crisis threatening the state’s agrarian future.

During the meeting with the Union Agriculture Minister, CM Bhagwant Singh Mann also strongly pitched for Punjab’s representation in the Central Seed Committee under the proposed Seed Bill 2025 and sought greater support from the Centre for crop diversification and agricultural reforms in the state.

The Chief Minister informed Shivraj Singh Chouhan that though Punjab accounts for merely 2% of the country’s population, it contributes around 185 LMT of rice and 125 LMT of wheat annually, due to which Punjab is known as the food bowl of the country. Stressing the importance of uninterrupted supply for both Kharif and Rabi crops, CM Bhagwant Singh Mann asserted that it is imperative for ensuring the nation’s food security.

Raising the issue of the Seed Bill 2025, CM Bhagwant Singh Mann said, “Punjab, being an agrarian state with a major contribution towards the national food pool, must have adequate representation in the Central Seed Committee.” He also stressed that the existing role and powers of the State Level Seed Committee should remain unchanged to safeguard the interests of farmers and the agriculture sector in Punjab.

Flagging concerns over hybrid paddy seeds, CM Bhagwant Singh Mann pointed out, “Some paddy hybrids have been found to exhibit a higher percentage of grain breakage during milling along with comparatively lower Head Rice Recovery in comparison to recommended varieties. Such produce does not conform to the quality standards prescribed by the Food Corporation of India, causing serious inconvenience to farmers during procurement.”

“In view of the forthcoming Kharif 2026 season, necessary action must be taken on priority for the de-notification of some of these hybrid paddy seeds in Punjab so that smooth procurement and lifting operations can be ensured in the larger interest of the farming community,” CM Bhagwant Singh Mann said.

Responding to the concerns raised by Punjab, Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan assured the Chief Minister that a special committee would be constituted to examine the issue of hybrid paddy seeds and ensure smooth procurement operations in the state.

Highlighting another key issue, CM Bhagwant Singh Mann said, “Approximately 33% of wheat seed is required to be replaced annually in order to sustain wheat yield levels. Enhancing the Seed Replacement Rate is the need of the hour for improving agricultural productivity in Punjab.”

Seeking the Centre’s support, CM Bhagwant Singh Mann requested Shivraj Singh Chouhan for approval and allocation of Wheat Seed Subsidy under the Annual Action Plan for the financial year 2026-27 under Krishionnati Yojana. “Such support is crucial for the comprehensive development of the agriculture sector and welfare of farmers. This will help in promoting scientific agriculture practices, thereby significantly increasing productivity and enhancing farmers’ income,” added the Chief Minister.

The Chief Minister also solicited fulsome support and cooperation from the Union government for giving a major push to crop diversification in Punjab to gradually take farmers out of the wheat-paddy cycle. “Diversification is essential not only for strengthening the rural economy but also for saving the rapidly depleting groundwater reserves in Punjab,” he added.

Pointing out the alarming groundwater situation, CM Bhagwant Singh Mann said, “Out of the total 150 blocks in Punjab, groundwater levels in 117 blocks have already entered the dark zone.”

He urged the Union government to introduce MSP on alternative crops as well so that farmers can be encouraged to diversify crops while simultaneously securing better incomes and protecting the state’s water resources.

NEET paper leak has shattered dreams of lakhs of students, it is Centre’s failure & fraud with aspirants: CM Bhagwant Singh Mann

Punjab News

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann on Wednesday slammed the BJP-led Centre over the NEET paper leak, calling it a betrayal of lakhs of students whose dreams were crushed by repeated failures in the examination system. Targeting the BJP on multiple fronts, CM Bhagwant Singh Mann also asserted that after Punjabi singer Diljit Dosanjh refused to enter politics at the BJP’s behest, a campaign of intimidation had been unleashed against him.

Positioning governance and welfare as AAP’s central electoral pitch ahead of the Punjab polls, CM Bhagwant Singh Mann asserted that the party would seek a renewed mandate on the plank of “Rangla Punjab”, highlighting free electricity, cashless healthcare and development-oriented governance as proof of delivery.

During a media interaction, CM Bhagwant Singh Mann stated that the NEET paper leak incident had shattered the dreams of lakhs of aspirants and exposed the Centre’s failure to ensure a fair examination system. “Students had worked tirelessly and burnt midnight oil in the hope of cracking the examination, but the paper leak had dealt a severe blow to their aspirations,” he added.

The Chief Minister stated, “The aspirants are in deep shock because the Union government has failed to prevent this fraud with their careers. Lakhs of hopes have been ruined due to this paper leak. The Centre should have ensured free and fair conduct of the examination, which could have transformed the destiny of millions of students.”

Politics of intimidation started after Diljit Singh refused to enter politics

Responding to another question, CM Bhagwant Singh Mann said it was unfortunate that after ace singer Diljit Dosanjh declined to enter politics, the BJP had resorted to intimidation tactics against him. “After actor Vijay’s success in Tamil Nadu’s political landscape, the BJP had realised that artists enjoy greater public acceptance and had therefore attempted to bring Diljit Dosanjh into politics,” he added.

“Since Diljit Singh declined the BJP’s offer, politics of intimidation has begun against him, which is unfair. Attacking his manager’s house reflects this politics of threat,” he added.

Development and welfare agenda will take AAP back to power

Meanwhile, CM Bhagwant Singh Mann said that carving out a “Rangla Punjab” would remain the sole poll plank of the AAP in Punjab, asserting that the AAP Government has undertaken several pro-people and development-oriented initiatives over the last few years. “Students from Punjab are excelling in competitive examinations like NEET and JEE, around 90% of households are receiving free electricity, and people are getting cashless medical treatment worth ₹10 lakh,” he added.

“We will go to the people with the agenda of development, welfare and honest governance. Punjab is witnessing holistic development and the people are supporting these initiatives wholeheartedly. We will form the government again with a huge mandate,” CM Bhagwant Singh Mann affirmed.

Cancer: Doctor Says 95% People Are Doing This One Small Mistake Daily Without Knowing Hidden Health Risk, Check Video

Toothbrush Can increase cancer risk

Most people brush their teeth every day without giving much thought to their toothbrush. But according to a doctor’s warning on YouTube, one small habit linked to toothbrush hygiene could quietly affect overall health. The issue is so common that experts claim nearly 95% of people may be making this mistake daily without realising its possible risks.

In the video, Dr Tarang Krishna spoke about how people often ignore the replacement guidelines printed on toothbrush packaging. While many wait for visible wear and tear before changing their toothbrush, doctors say that may already be too late.

Cancer And Oral Hygiene: Why Changing Your Toothbrush Matters

Talking about oral care habits, Dr Tarang Krishna said that most people do not replace their toothbrushes on time. He explained that a study suggests around 95% of people change their toothbrush only once a year. However, most toothbrush packets clearly mention one important instruction: “Please discard in 3 months.”

According to the doctor, toothbrushes are designed for limited use. Still, many people continue using them for six months, ten months or even a full year.

He said people usually decide to replace their toothbrush only when the bristles become bent, rough, or spread out. But relying only on visible damage is a mistake.

Experts believe old toothbrushes may collect bacteria, food particles and germs over time. Worn-out bristles may also fail to clean teeth and gums properly, which can affect oral hygiene.

Poor Oral Health Awareness

While a toothbrush alone does not directly cause cancer, doctors often stress that poor oral hygiene can contribute to long-term health problems. Maintaining good oral care is important for preventing infections, gum disease and inflammation inside the mouth.

Health experts recommend a few simple habits for better oral care:

  • Replace your toothbrush every 3 months
  • Change it sooner after illness like flu or infection
  • Store toothbrushes in a clean, dry area
  • Avoid sharing toothbrushes with others
  • Use soft-bristle brushes for gentle cleaning

Many dentists also advise checking toothbrush packaging regularly instead of waiting for bristles to visibly weaken.

Diabetes: Expert Warns THIS Corn-Derived Ingredient Can Spike Sugar Higher Than Table Sugar & Glucose, Check Video

Diabetes Expert Warns THIS Corn-Derived Ingredient Can Spike Sugar Higher Than Table Sugar & Glucose

Many people living with diabetes carefully avoid sugar, but not all threats come from obvious sources. Some ingredients hidden in “sugar-free” or “diet” products can still raise blood sugar sharply. One such ingredient is now gaining attention after a warning from a health expert on a diabetic food channel.

According to the expert, certain processed ingredients may be even more dangerous for people with diabetes than regular glucose or table sugar. The concern is not just what tastes sweet, but how the body reacts to hidden forms of carbohydrates that act like fast sugar in the bloodstream.

Diabetes Expert Explains Why Glycemic Load Matters

The expert explains that understanding diabetes control is not only about avoiding sugar but also about studying something called glycemic load. It shows how quickly a food raises blood sugar after consumption.

He said, “A diabetic patient should always avoid one specific food item because it can be extremely dangerous for blood sugar control.”

This food is considered even more harmful than glucose in some cases. To understand whether any food is safe for diabetes, we use glycemic load. Foods with low glycemic load are generally safe, while high glycemic load foods are not recommended. The ingredient discussed is maltodextrin.

What Is Maltodextrin And Why Experts Warn About It

Maltodextrin is a processed carbohydrate made from corn (maize). It is created through enzymatic hydrolysis of corn starch, where enzymes and water break starch into a fast-digesting sugar-like substance.

The expert explains why it can be risky for diabetes:

  • Glucose has a glycemic index of 100
  • 100g glucose glycemic load = 100
  • Maltodextrin glycemic index can reach 110 or more
  • 100g maltodextrin glycemic load = 110

This means maltodextrin may raise blood sugar faster than glucose itself. Even compared to table sugar (glycemic index around 65), maltodextrin shows a significantly higher impact on blood sugar levels. This is why experts warn that some “sugar-free” products may still be unsafe for people managing diabetes.

Diabetes Risk In “Sugar-Free” Products

One of the biggest concerns highlighted is labelling. Many products marketed as sugar-free still contain maltodextrin as a filler or thickening agent. For people with diabetes, this can be misleading. They may assume the product is safe, but their blood sugar may still spike unexpectedly.

Experts suggest:

  • Always check ingredient labels carefully
  • Avoid processed foods with maltodextrin
  • Do not rely only on sugar-free claims
  • Focus on glycemic load, not just sweetness

Managing diabetes requires more than avoiding obvious sugar. Hidden ingredients like maltodextrin can silently affect blood sugar control. Awareness, label reading and understanding glycemic load can help people make safer food choices and avoid unexpected sugar spikes.

Alia Bhatt has once again become the centre of online debate after a statement from her recent interview went viral. The actress, who is currently representing a beauty brand at the Cannes Film Festival 2026, is receiving mixed reactions on social media over her views on Indian cinema and audience trends.

During an interview with The Hollywood Reporter India, Alia Bhatt spoke about changing audience dynamics in films. While her comments aimed to highlight inclusivity in storytelling, a section of social media users interpreted her statement differently, triggering backlash and heated discussions online.

Alia Bhatt’s ‘Gender Agnostic Cinema’ Comment Goes Viral

In the interview, Alia Bhatt referred to global films and discussed how storytelling often targets specific audiences. She then reflected on the Indian film industry and questioned the long-standing belief that movies should primarily cater to male audiences based on box office data.

Alia Bhatt said, “In India, somehow when we talk about box office numbers, there’s a conversation that comes up pretty often, ‘oh 75% of movie-going audience is male, so we need to cater to the mass’. This conversation comes up quite a bit. But, I only wonder if we are catering just to the men, then what happens to the women?”

She further added, “I am not saying that we alienate the men, but then why do we have to alienate anybody? Why do we have to cater to one gender? Why can’t we make movies that are gender agnostic where the storytelling takes centre stage? Whether it stars a man or a woman, that should not matter. It is the storytelling that should matter. So, I am just hoping we have more of that.”

Her “gender agnostic” remark quickly went viral, sparking online reactions.

Following her statement, social media platforms saw divided opinions. While some users supported her perspective on inclusive storytelling, others criticised her remarks and linked them to ongoing industry debates. A section of users even dragged in Dhurandhar, suggesting comparisons with recent film trends and box office discussions.

One X user wrote, “Alia Bhatt’s jealousy over not being part of Dhurandhar is starting to become visible now. She has a problem with why Indian movies are male-centred. She argues against the practice of catering to just one gender, suggesting that storytelling should be gender agnostic.”

Another commented, “Raazi bana li na tumne? That too twisting the original according to your narrative & ideology.”

A third user said, “It’s funny how the conversation didn’t occur to her when Animal came out…”

One more wrote, “She already did Razi, Jigra, Gangubai, Dear Zindagi. Does she wants all female led movies for herself? Movies like Dhudandhar are loved by men and women alike because STORY is gender agnostic. Patriotism doesn’t see gender. If Aditya Dhar made Dhurandhar, he also made Article 370.”

A netizen also tweeted, “Where was this statement when her husband did animal. The most misogynistic, sexist film to ever come out of Bollywood.”

Despite the ongoing online debate, Alia Bhatt has not issued any clarification or response to the backlash.

Alia Bhatt: Upcoming Movies

On the work front, Alia Bhatt will next be seen in Alpha, the first female-led film in the YRF Spy Universe, co-starring Sharvari Wagh and releasing on July 10, 2026.

She will also reunite with Sanjay Leela Bhansali for Love And War, alongside Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal, which is scheduled for a 2027 theatrical release.
