IND vs PAK: BCCI is planning to send Team India to play in Pakistan for Asia Cup 2023?

IND vs PAK: Due to the agressive history between the two countries, Team India last visited Pakistan in 2008 for the Asia Cup. Since then, the two countries have only met in big ICC tournaments like the World Cup and Asia Cup.

The BCCI is considering the possibility of sending Team India to Pakistan for the Asia Cup 2023, which is scheduled to take place on the other side of the border.

The Indian government must approve India’s visit to Pakistan, according to a Cricbuzz report, but arrangements to send the Men in Blue across the border are undoubtedly in the works. According to the report, Team India’s 2019 obligations are included in a BCCI memo that was distributed to state associations on Thursday before the Annual General Meeting (AGM).

The BCCI president, Sourav Ganguly, is expected to be removed, and former World Cup champion Roger Binny is thought to be the front-runner to take over the top position, according to reports, at the AGM set for October 18.

Asia Cup 2023 to take place before World Cup

In the second half of 2023, before the ODI World Cup, which will be held in India, Pakistan is all set to host the Asia Cup 2023, which is most likely to be played in the 50-over format. According to the AGM note, the BCCI had intentions to send Team India to Pakistan, but the Indian government would make the final decision.

The story further states, under the condition of anonymity, that a source with knowledge of the development said, “It will be subject to the permission of the Government of India as always.” Jay Shah, the secretary of the BCCI and president of the Asia Cricket Council (ACC), have played a role in the decision.

The BCCI statement appears to be indicating otherwise, but if there were a barrier to playing across the border, the Asia Cup could easily be transferred to UAE, as it was earlier this year.
