NZ vs ENG: Kiwi star Bracewell finds a unique way to get himself run-out, cricket lovers aghast, watch here

NZ vs ENG: On the fourth day of the second Test against England at Wellington, Michael Bracewell, New Zealand’s all-rounder, was run out in a manner that was quite embarrassing. During the 159th over of New Zealand’s second innings, Tom Blundell whipped England’s left-arm spinner Jack Leach to deep mid-wicket, and the Kiwi batters attempted to come back for the third run. However, Bracewell was too casual in his efforts to complete the third run and made no effort to drag his bat in, resulting in his run-out.

Bracewell’s casual approach stuns everyone

Following a chase by Ben Stokes from mid-on and his subsequent throw, Ben Foakes initially feigned disinterest in the ball and then suddenly took the bails off to catch Bracewell off-guard. Even though the New Zealand all-rounder had crossed the crease, both his bat and foot were in the air, leading to his dismissal. Bracewell was out after scoring 8 runs off 19 balls.

At the time of Bracewell’s run-out, New Zealand’s score was 478, and they eventually were all-out for 483. England concluded Day 4 in Wellington at 1/48, requiring an additional 210 runs to win the match. The commentators were taken aback by Bracewell’s seemingly casual running between the wickets.

Kane Williamson was both officially and unofficially the best batter for New Zealand. He scored his 26th Test century, enabling New Zealand to lead England by 257 runs after following on. Meanwhile, Tom Blundell’s contribution of 90 runs was critical as he was the last man out, bringing New Zealand’s second innings to an end at 483, less than an hour before stumps on Monday.
