Punjab Police: In a major success against narco-terror and organized crime, the Amritsar Commissionerate Police has dismantled a significant cross-border narcotics and arms supply network. Acting on intelligence inputs, the police apprehended six operatives involved in drug and weapons trafficking and seized 4.03 kg of heroin along with two pistols — a Glock 9mm and a .30 bore pistol.

According to police officials, the preliminary investigation has revealed that the accused were in close contact with a Pakistan-based handler, identified as Shah, through social media platforms. The operatives were allegedly receiving heroin and weapons consignments from Pakistani smugglers through drones in the Khemkaran and Ferozepur sectors, which were later supplied in the Amritsar region.

An FIR has been registered at Police Station Gate Hakima (Islamabad), Amritsar, and further investigation is underway to identify the backward and forward linkages of this network. Authorities confirmed that the case could unravel a wider nexus of cross-border smuggling syndicates working at the behest of handlers across the border.
Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann lauded the Punjab Police for their swift action, stressing that his government has adopted a zero-tolerance policy against drugs and organized crime. He said, “The safety and future of Punjab’s youth cannot be compromised. Our police are working day and night to dismantle these networks, and no one involved will be spared.”
The Punjab Police reiterated its commitment to crack down on narco-terrorism and arms smuggling, assuring that operations will continue to safeguard the state from cross-border threats.
