According to a statement posted by the Punjab Director General of Police (DGP) on X (formerly Twitter), the operation was carried out by the Amritsar Rural Police under the supervision of senior officials. An FIR under relevant sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act has been registered at Police Station Lopoke.

Police Probe Expands to Network Linkages

Following the arrest, authorities have launched a detailed investigation to trace both forward and backward linkages connected to the drug seizure. This includes identifying suppliers, buyers, and any interstate or international connections that may be involved in the smuggling and distribution chain.

Sources within the police department revealed that mobile devices and other digital evidence recovered from the accused may provide critical leads to expose the full scale of the network. The police are also coordinating with central agencies to investigate possible cross-border elements involved in the racket.

This seizure underscores the Punjab Police’s ongoing efforts to combat the drug menace that has plagued the state for years. Crystal Meth and heroin are both highly addictive substances, and such large hauls have the potential to impact thousands of lives if circulated.

The Punjab Police reiterated its commitment to uprooting drug cartels from the state. “We remain committed to dismantling drug cartels and making Punjab drug-free,” the DGP's office stated, highlighting the importance of community cooperation in the fight against narcotics.

This incident adds to a growing list of successful anti-drug operations by Punjab Police in recent months, reflecting intensified efforts to restore safety and well-being across the state.
