Uttarakhand News: CM Dhami lauds PM Modi’s ‘SVAnidhi’ scheme

Uttarakhand News: Lauding Prime Minister Narendra Modi‘s ‘SVAnidhi’ scheme, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said Uttarakhand government will waive off the interest of loans taken by street vendors and hawkers. CM Dhami also interacted with the beneficiaries of the SVAnidhi family at his residence. He said the government will bear the loan interest of street vendors and hawkers taking loans under the Prime Minister‘s Street Vendor’s Self-Reliant Fund (PM SVAnidhi Scheme) in urban areas. Seven percent of this will be borne by the central government, he said, adding the entire remaining interest would now be given by the state government.

PM’s SVAnidhi scheme has been launched with the aim to boost digital transactions among street vendors, while also providing loan facilities to them.

“Under this, the subsidy is given on the interest of seven per cent by the central government and two per cent by the state government. The three to four per cent interest which has to be paid by the beneficiaries after getting the nine per cent under PM Swanidhi Yojna, will also be borne by the state government in the coming times,” CM Dhami said.

The chief minister also interacted with the beneficiaries of ‘SVAnidhi’ Pariwar at his residence. “Earlier, the poor man could not even think of going inside the bank. But today the bankers themselves are coming to them and providing them loans, this is respect and self-reliance,” he added.

“Under the leader of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the poor are taking loans from banks and are repaying them honestly,” he concluded.
