CM Yogi Adityanath : Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has announced a fresh set of welfare and infrastructure measures aimed at strengthening the state’s legal ecosystem, speaking recently at an event in Prayagraj. The announcements focus on supporting lawyers, modernizing courts, and improving access to justice for ordinary citizens.
Cashless Health Insurance and Tablets for Law Officers
Among the biggest highlights, the Chief Minister announced that all practicing lawyers in the state will now get Rs 5 lakh cashless medical insurance. Alongside this, 400 government law officers received tablets to help digitize their daily legal work. This move is expected to save time, reduce paperwork, and bring greater transparency to how legal officers handle cases.

Better Facilities for the Legal Community
To ease the daily struggles faced by lawyers, especially in Allahabad High Court, the government announced a multi-level car parking facility for around 10,000 advocates. The state is also funding the construction of lawyers’ chambers in a dozen districts that previously lacked such infrastructure. Fees for law officers who represent the state in court have been increased by more than 50 percent, recognizing their important role in the justice system.
Advocate Welfare Fund Gets a Major Boost
Earlier, at a separate event in Gorakhpur, the Chief Minister had already announced that the Advocate Welfare Fund would be increased to Rs 5 lakh, backed by a Rs 500 crore corpus. Nearly 4,000 advocates have already benefited from this scheme, worth about Rs 200 crore so far. The age limit for financial aid was also raised to 70 years, making the benefit accessible to senior lawyers who need it most.
Digitisation and Modern Court Infrastructure
The government is also speeding up the digitisation of court documents and records, a step meant to make case tracking faster and more reliable. CM Adityanath praised the Allahabad High Court’s leadership for pushing forward infrastructure projects, stressing that “good governance depends on public trust” and that constitutional institutions must remain accessible to everyone, including the last person in the queue.
