Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav has given approval for new route of Vande Bharat train. Bengaluru-Dharwad Vande Bharat train is being extended to Belgaum (Belagavi). The long wait of people is going to end for this route. This will reduce travel time and will also improve connectivity for the people of Belagavi region.
Who Will Get Benefit of the New Route?
Under the new route, this train will now run from Belgaum in the morning and will provide direct service to Bengaluru for the passengers of Belagavi. This decision will not only provide benefits to passengers from Belagavi but also from nearby areas. They will not require traveling long distances and frequently change trains for going Bengaluru. This will also save travelling time and will improve connectivity.
Vande Bharat Train: Bengaluru to Belagavi Route, Distance, and Time
At current, it takes around 10 hours to cover the distance between Bengaluru and Belagavi by the Rani Chennamma train which is the existing best option on the route. The Bengaluru to Belagavi Vande Bharat train will be an extension of the existing KSR Bengaluru-Dharwad Vande Bharat train. The Bengaluru-Belagavi Vande Bharat train will cover a distance of 611 km in less than 8 hours.
Current Route of Bengaluru-Dharwad Vande Bharat Train
Currently, the Bengaluru-Dharwad Vande Bharat train inaugurated by PM Modi in June 2023 connects various major stations such as KSR Bengaluru City Junction, Yesvantpur Junction and Dharwad. This extension of route to Belagavi will enhance travel experience in the region. The train currently covers 490 km in about 6 hours and 25 minutes from Bengaluru to Dharwad.
After the extension of current route of Bengaluru-Dharwad Vande Bharat train, people of Belagavi and nearby regions will enjoy time saving and t convenience to travel Bengaluru.
