In the footage, the woman can be heard repeatedly stating that the boy is her son and that she brought him along due to the large withdrawal amount. Meanwhile, the bank manager tries to de-escalate the situation. The young man insists that the Union Bank of India cashier has done this before and requests to have his mother's account transferred.
As the argument escalates, the boy continues recording the incident. At one point, the cashier attempts to snatch the phone from him. In response, the boy warns the cashier, saying, “You are not a big officer.” The Rampur Viral Video has ignited debates on customer service and bank policies.
The Rampur Viral Video was uploaded on March 4 and has already amassed over 275,000 views on X. Many users have reacted strongly to the incident, with divided opinions. Some defended the Union Bank of India cashier, citing banking rules, while others criticised his behavior.
One user commented, “The only mistake the banker made was touching him at the end... The rule is that the person withdrawing the money should receive it directly. After that, it’s their responsibility to hand it over.” Another stated, “The cashier is not wrong. Now an unnecessary issue is being created.”
However, many others criticised the Union Bank of India employee. A user demanded, “@UnionBankTweets Suspend this employee, he is tarnishing the bank’s reputation.” Another remarked, “Nationalised bank employees have not adapted to modern times; they still behave arrogantly and rudely.”
