The Thai film ‘One Day’ follows Denchai, a shy and socially ignored IT employee, who falls in love with Nui, a warm and kind colleague. During a company trip to Japan, Nui suffers a temporary memory loss condition called Transient Global Amnesia, which lasts exactly 24 hours. In that short window, Denchai pretends to be her boyfriend and gives her the love and attention she always deserved. The story is tender but morally complex, as both characters know the truth will vanish with time.

Sai Pallavi’s casting has drawn attention, given her strong acting credentials and loyal fan base. However, many netizens remain sceptical about whether even she can help the film overcome the remake fatigue.

Aamir Khan had earlier admitted he was disappointed by the failure of Loveyapa, stating that he personally liked the film. With Ek Din, he is once again backing his son with a fresh pairing and an emotionally driven story.

Rekha Gupta: Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has dedicated 81 new Ayushman Arogya Mandirs taking the total tally to 319 such centres now. This is expected to take a great load out of the over-crowded All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) and Safdarjung Hospitals.

Gupta dedicated the Arogya Mandirs on the occasion of Makar Sankranti to the people of Delhi.

The Delhi CM inaugurated the new facilities in the Hari Nagar Assembly Constituency. The expansion marks progress towards the Delhi government’s objective of setting up 15 Ayushman Arogya Mandirs in each of the capital city’s assembly constituencies. This also includes a total of 1,100 centres across the national capital.

The Chief Minister of Delhi inspected the facilities at the Hari Nagar Arogya Mandir, including laboratories, OPD rooms, vaccination units, maternal & child healthcare centres and medical distribution counters.

Gupta also went on to review digital health record and patient registration systems. She went on to direct healthcare officials to ensure accuracy, ease of access and transparency.

The controversy blew up after a video from an exclusive NDTV interview went viral. In the clip, gangster Inderjit Singh Yadav (also known as Rao Inderjit) says, “Elvish mera chhota bhai hai.” The remark spread quickly on social media, leaving his fans surprised

When asked if he had spoken to Elvish, Inderjit said they had spoken on the phone. He added that they would meet and talk regularly when he was around. He also mentioned a mutual acquaintance who spends time with Elvish and lives nearby. These statements caused widespread speculation and discussion online.

The interview turned serious when NDTV asked Inderjit about the firing outside Elvish’s Gurugram home. On August 18, 2025, Elvish’s house in Sector 56 was targeted in a shooting. Elvish was not home, but his family was inside.

After the incident, the Himanshu Bhau gang posted on social media, naming Inderjit Yadav in connection with the attack. When questioned, the gangster gave a cryptic reply, “Dalne wale jaane aur dalwane wale jaane.” He also referred to Elvish as his brother again, adding fuel to the controversy.

Links To Gurugram Firing Case

Inderjit Singh Yadav is believed to be a key member of the Himanshu Bhau gang, which claimed responsibility for the attack. The gang said the firing was a “warning” to Elvish, accusing him of promoting gambling and betting apps that “ruined many homes.”

Inderjit is classified as a “Category A” gangster with multiple cases, including attempted murder, extortion and kidnapping. He is reportedly operating from the United States to avoid arrest. In late 2025, Haryana Police sought a Red Corner Notice to extradite him. His name has also been linked to other high-profile controversies, including a corruption case connected to the suicide of senior Haryana police officials.

So far, Elvish Yadav has not publicly responded to Inderjit’s claims. However, the viral video has once again put him at the centre of public debate. Social media users are divided, with some questioning the gangster’s statements and others calling on Elvish to clarify his side of the story.

Released on December 5, 2025, Dhurandhar has turned into one of the biggest and most consistent successes in recent Hindi cinema. According to trade estimates, the film’s India net collection has crossed Rs 813 crore, moving past Pushpa 2’s lifetime Hindi total of about Rs 812 crore. This achievement places Dhurandhar firmly at the top of the Hindi box office.

What makes this run special is the film’s long-term performance. Unlike many big films that depend heavily on opening weekends, Dhurandhar has remained steady well after its initial release. Even in its sixth week, it is driving footfalls in theatres.

Ranveer Singh starrer is also performing exceptionally well overseas. So far, the film has collected Rs 1269–1270 crore worldwide. This has helped it cross the global lifetime collection of KGF Chapter 2, which was around Rs 1215 crore. It has become the first A-rated Indian film to cross Rs 1250 crore worldwide. This is a rare achievement, as most record-breaking films usually have a wider, family-friendly rating.

Can Dhurandhar Beat KGF 2 in India?

Despite its historic run, crossing KGF Chapter 2 in India remains challenging. Yash’s blockbuster still holds a lifetime India net collection of Rs 859.7 crore. Dhurandhar is close but would need around Rs 45 crore more to beat that figure.

Since the film is already deep into its theatrical run, trade experts feel this target may be hard to reach. Even so, getting this close to KGF 2 proves the massive success of Dhurandhar.

Trade analysts credit the film’s success to strong word of mouth and repeat viewing. Instead of following a typical mass formula, Dhurandhar connected with adult audiences through its grounded storytelling and intense tone. On several days, it even recorded better weekday collections than Pushpa 2, topping daily box office charts.

Directed by Aditya Dhar, Dhurandhar is a spy thriller inspired by real events such as the IC-814 hijacking and the 2008 Mumbai attacks. Mayawati: Mayawati, the former Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, is celebrating her 70th birthday today.

The Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) National President has vowed that her political party would make all possible efforts to deliver a significant comeback.

Party workers and leaders gather in large numbers to attend the birthday celebrations of Behenji. The BSP party leaders would be gearing up the cadre for the assembly polls in the state of Uttar Pradesh in 2027. BSP leaders are preparing to make her the UP CM for the fifth tenure (1995, 1997, 2002 & 2007).

Mayawati Birthday Reactions

Several political stalwarts including UP CM Yogi Adityanath, Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya and Samajwadi Party (SP) president Akhilesh Yadav wished Mayawati on her birthday.

The press conference event was marred by a short circuit after which fire extinguishers were used to douse smoke.

She released The Journey of My Struggle and BSP Movement, Part 21 of the BSP’s Blue Book. The blue book documents her life, the party’s movement and her political struggle. It also includes details of the activities of BSP over the last year, the future strategy and achievements.

Mayawati was born on 15 January 1956 in Delhi. She went on to become the first woman Dalit Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh

She led the BSP, founded by her mentor Kanshi Ram, to champion the rights of Dalit-Bahujan in Uttar Pradesh.

Ahead of the 2027 UP Assembly Polls, Behenji faces a tough challenge to win against UP CM Yogi Adityanath and SP Chief Akhilesh Yadav. In 2022, the share of BSP plummeted to 13 percent from historic highs. Now, Mayawati is reviving BAMCEF ties and OBC Bhaichara committees. The Raja Saab Box Office Collection Day 6: Prabhas‘ The Raja Saab continues to struggle at the box office despite a small jump in numbers on Day 6. The horror-comedy saw a slight rise on Wednesday due to the Makar Sankranti holiday. However, trade experts believe the film’s fate was decided during its opening weekend. The Raja Saab Box Office Collection Day 6

As per Sacnilk, The Raja Saab earned around Rs 5.25 crore on Day 6 across all languages in India. While this minor increase brought hopes for makers, the collections are still far below expectations for a Prabhas-led Sankranti release. The film has now collected nearly Rs 124.65 crore net in India since its release on January 9, 2026.

For a big-budget pan-India film, these figures are considered disappointing. Trade trackers note that weekday drops have been sharp. Audience footfall has also failed to recover after mixed word of mouth.

Meanwhile, Chiranjeevi’s Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu has clearly won the festive box office battle. The film was released two days after The Raja Saab but quickly gained momentum. It crossed the Rs 100 crore mark globally within just two days and continues to perform strongly in the Telugu states.

Although The Raja Saab had a bigger opening day with nearly Rs 53.75 crore, Chiranjeevi’s film has shown much better consistency. On a similar comparison, Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu earned about Rs 19.5 crore on Wednesday (Day 3) alone. In contrast, The Raja Saab’s Day 6 collection is nearly 73% lower on the same day.

Due to its weak hold, The Raja Saab has lost several screens to Chiranjeevi’s film and other regional releases. This has further affected its daily collections.

Why The Raja Saab Failed To Connect

Trade analysts point to several reasons behind the film’s poor run. Despite its star power and scale, The Raja Saab received mixed to negative reviews. Many viewers criticised the weak story, slow pacing and confused mix of horror and comedy.

The visual effects also drew strong criticism. Audiences complained about poor-quality VFX and the noticeable use of body doubles with digital face replacements for Prabhas. The missing “old man” look from the initial theatrical cut, which was heavily promoted, added to the disappointment.

Director Maruthi Responds To Criticism

Director Maruthi recently defended the film’s poor performance by blaming the festive mood of audiences. He said viewers failed to connect with the film’s “deeper layers” during the holidays. His comments included warnings about “karma” for those mocking the film and triggered heavy backlash online. Many accused him of making excuses after serving a poor film.

Maruthi also admitted that nearly eight minutes showing Prabhas in an older avatar were missing from Day 1 screenings due to technical issues. Although these scenes were later added, critics say such explanations cannot cover a weak script and the film’s long 189-minute runtime.

At this point, The Raja Saab is unlikely to see a major recovery at the box office. Despite the brief Sankranti bump, trade experts believe the film will go down as one of the first major pan-India disasters of 2026.

Jana Nayagan: No Respite ? Supreme Court Declines to Intervene on Vijay’s Film, Certification Issue to Be Resolved by Madras High Court

The highly anticipated Tamil film Jana Nayagan, starring actor Vijay, has hit a legal roadblock. The Supreme Court of India refused to entertain the makers’ plea seeking a stay on the Madras High Court order that stalled the film’s certification. The case now returns to the Madras High Court, which has been asked to decide by January 20.

Supreme Court’s Decision

A bench of Justices Deepankar Datta and A. G. Masih did not agree to the intervention. The makers had brought the matter to the apex court after the Madras High Court had put a stop to a previous order which directed the CBFC to issue a certificate. Rather than granting an interim stay, the Supreme Court remitted the case to the High Court for a decision.

Why Certification Delay?

The certification issue arose when Jana Nayagan was submitted to the CBFC in December 2025. Initially, the board intended to issue a U/A 16+ certificate; however, a member’s objection led to a referral to a revising committee, and the clearance was delayed. Later, the producers filed a petition before the Madras High Court, which gave contradictory orders, and the matter was referred to the Supreme Court.

Effect on Movie Release

Jana Nayagan was scheduled for release on January 9, 2026, on the occasion of the Pongal festival. Since the certification is still pending, the release has been stalled, and both the fans and producers are in a dilemma. A movie cannot be exhibited in theatres without CBFC sanction, and that is the current status of this movie

America Ban Visa: United States President Donald Trump has restricted non-immigrant and immigrant visa processing for citizens of 75 countries, many of them in Asia, Africa and Latin America.

Effective January 21, 2026, the United States Department of State would pause all visa issuances to immigrant visa applicants who are nationals of certain countries.

America Ban Visa-Which Countries Face The Wrath?

The list includes Afghanistan, Albania, Algeria, Antigua and Barbuda, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bahamas, Bangladesh, Barbados, Belarus, Belize, Bhutan and Bosnia and Herzegovina. It also includes Brazil, Burma, Cambodia, Cameroon, Cape Verde, Colombia, Cote d’Ivoire, Cuba, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Dominica, Egypt, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Fiji, The Gambia, Georgia, Ghana, Grenada, Guatemala, Guinea, Haiti, Iran, Iraq and Jamaica.

The Department of State also paused immigrant visas for nationals from Jordan, Kazakhstan, Kosovo, Kuwait, Kyrgyz Republic, Laos, Lebanon, Liberia, Libya, Moldova, Mongolia, Montenegro, Morocco, Nepal, Nicaragua, Nigeria, North Macedonia and Pakistan. The list also includes nationals from Republic of the Congo, Russia, Rwanda, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Somalia, South Sudan, Sudan, Syria, Tanzania, Thailand, Togo, Tunisia, Uganda, Uruguay, Uzbekistan and Yemen.

Immigrant visa applicants who belong to the affected countries may submit their visa applications. They would be eligible to attend interviews. The US Department of State would be scheduling appointments as earlier but no immigrant visas would be issued to nationals of the above countries during the pause.

Why Was The Suspension Made?

Led by Secretary of State Marco Rubio, the State Department remarked that the suspension would not apply to applicants seeking temporary, business or non-immigrant visas. In a statement, the US Department of State remarked that the Trump-led administration would be relentless to bring an end to abuse of the immigration system of America by those who illegitimately extract wealth from Americans.

In an embarrassing development, Trump was seen sleeping while being a part of a public gathering. The US President can be seen in a video farting while sleeping before a gathering.
