Himanta Biswa Sarma

Himanta Biswa Sarma: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has refuted the claims of Congress Leader Pawan Khera that his wife holds the passports of UAE, Antigua-Barbuda and Egypt. Sarma remarked that the press conference materials used by Congress leaders Gaurav Gogoi and Pawan Khera were allegedly supplied by a social media group from Pakistan. The Assam CM also alleged that there has been a massive surge in upcoming Assam assembly elections from Pakistan and a wave of support for the Congress party.

Recently, Khera alleged that Sarma’s wife Riniki Bhuyan has three different passports. Khera also claimed that Riniki has a series of undisclosed business interests outside the country. Khera went on to allege that the Sarma family holds several properties in Dubai and companies in USA.

Himanta Biswa Sarma Reaction

Reacting to the passport allegations, Himanta Biswa Sarma remarked that the Congress has a long history of using fabricated documents to influence state election outcomes. Sarma warned Khera and others of life imprisonment for such behaviour in the future.

Sarma went on to remark that confirmations from the Indian government and Dubai authorities clearly indicate that the passport-in-question was fake and not genuine.

Sarma added that a FIR has been lodged by his wife, Riniki Bhuyan Sharma. The Assam CM said the police would register the case and take the required actions as per the appropriate sections of the Indian law.

Pakistani PC Materials

Sarma added that at least 11 talk shows have been conducted by Pakistani channels in the last 10 days regarding the Assam Assembly elections 2026. Sarma said that such trends have been completely unprecedented and the conclusion in each of these talk shows is that the Congress party should emerge as the winner.

These developments come just a few days before the upcoming Assam Assembly Elections 2026 that start on April 9 in a single phase across the state’s 126 constituencies. The counting of votes is scheduled by the Election Commission of India for May 4.

Bengal Assembly Election 2026: Asaduddin Owaisi, the chief of All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM), has blasted West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee for releasing the party’s manifesto in Urdu language. In another development, Mamata has expressed confidence that votes in the state would not be divided. Mamata remarked that BJP would capture West Bengal if people decide to vote in their favour.

Many political experts in the country believe that Mamata’s party would face stiff competition from BJP and AIMIM this time.

Asaduddin Owaisi Reaction

Owaisi remarked that Mamata has a double-face and her party has not done anything for the betterment of Muslims in the state. Owaisi remarked that Mamata operates with a dual face towards the Muslim community members in the state.

The AIMIM Chief added the TMC has released its manifesto in Urdu but has never paid heed to the plight of Muslims in the state’s government sector. Owaisi remarked that the Muslims presently occupy approximately 29 percent of the state’s population yet only 7 percent are serving in government jobs.

Owaisi claimed that the Muslim community members stay in acute poverty in areas like Murshidabad and Malda. The AIMIM Chief also said a significant majority of Muslim girls in the state have low literacy rates while the highest school dropout rate is among Muslims in the state of West Bengal.

Bengal Assembly Election 2026-AIMIM And Aam Janata Unnayan Party Alliance

Recently, Owaisi held a joint election rally with Aam Janata Unnayan Party Founder Humayun Kabir in Murshidabad. During the rally, Owaisi remarked that the AIMIM has entered into an alliance with the party of Kabir for ensuring the victory of its candidates in the Bengal Assembly Election 2026.

He went on to claim that five lakh Other Backward Classes (OBC) certificates were cancelled last year by the Calcutta High Court and approximately 3 lakhs of them were from the Muslim community.

Bengal Assembly Election 2026 would be conducted in two phases. The first phase elections would be held on April 23 while the second phase elections would be held on April 29; voting would be performed on May 4.

Trump warned that Tehran should sign the deal at the earliest else the United States would open a series of lethal attacks on power, energy, civilian and other infrastructure in the Islamic Republic of Iran.

US Ambassador To Russia Appointment

In another development, Witkoff has been blamed for influencing the selection process for the United States ambassador to Russia. The post has stayed vacant since June 2025 after the tenure of Lynne Tracy came to an end. The Daily Mail reported that search for a suitable candidate has dragged on for years as the ambassador’s views must align in line with the views of US presidential envoy Steve Witkoff.

Indian comedian Samay Raina is set to make a powerful return to the spotlight with his latest stand-up special Still Alive. The trailer for the special drops today, April 5, with the full special premiering exclusively on YouTube on April 7, 2026.

More than just a title, Still Alive reflects a defining phase in Raina’s career. In February 2025, India’s Got Latent—the YouTube talent show he had built into one of India’s most-watched creator-led properties—became the centre of a nationwide controversy. A remark made during a members-only episode went viral, triggering multiple FIRs across states, summons from the National Commission for Women, and an inquiry by the Maharashtra Cyber Cell. The matter escalated to the Supreme Court of India, placing Raina at the centre of a larger debate on digital content, free speech, and online accountability.

In response, Raina took down all episodes of the show, cancelled scheduled tours, and cooperated fully with authorities, including a six-hour interrogation session in Navi Mumbai. Throughout this period, he maintained silence publicly, refraining from statements or media engagement.

His return began in August 2025, when he stepped back onto the stage with the Still Alive & Unfiltered India Tour. The tour opened in Bengaluru, selling over 40,000 tickets within an hour of release. Subsequent performances at major venues including Bharat Mandapam and Talkatora Stadium in Delhi were sold out, marking a significant resurgence in audience support.

The tour extended internationally, covering Europe, Australia, and North America. The run culminated in a landmark performance at Madison Square Garden, making Raina one of the youngest Indian comedians to achieve this milestone.

Still Alive captures this journey in its most candid form. The special blends observational humor with deeply personal reflections, offering audiences a raw and unfiltered perspective on resilience, identity, and public scrutiny. It stands as Raina’s most introspective work to date.

Speaking about the special, Raina said: “My only objective was to make people laugh and have a good time. That hasn’t changed.”

With Still Alive, Samay Raina reasserts his place in India’s comedy landscape—unfiltered, unapologetic, and firmly rooted in his craft.

Mohammed Shami: 4 Overs, 9 Runs, 2 Wickets and 18 Dot Balls, Pacer Guides LSG To First Win In IPL 2026 Against SRH, India Calling?

Mohammed- Shami
Google

When Mohammed Shami steps onto the field in rhythm, magic happens. That was the case in this important Indian Premier League 2026 game. Shami didn’t just bowl; he controlled the whole game. He bowled 4 overs, gave up only 9 runs, and took 2 wickets with an amazing 18 dot balls. This kind of spell is rare and game-changing in a T20 match, where runs come quickly.

How Shami Outclassed SRH Batters

Facing a strong lineup from Sunrisers Hyderabad, Shami relied on:

  • Tight line and length
  • Subtle seam movement
  • Smart pace variation

He didn’t go after wickets aggressively; instead, he built up pressure ball by ball. The pressure made people make mistakes, which led to important breakthroughs at the right times.

His spell made sure that SRH never got going, keeping their total within reach.

LSG’s First Win: A Much-Needed Boost

The Lucknow Super Giants’ win was more than just two points; it was a statement.

This win came after a slow start to the tournament:

  • Boosted team morale
  • Strengthened bowling confidence
  • Showed their ability to handle pressure

Shami’s performance was the key to this success.

The Turning Point of the Match

Every match has a moment where the tide turns—and here, it was Shami’s spell in the middle overs.

While SRH looked set for a competitive total, Shami’s dot-ball pressure:

  • Broke partnerships
  • Slowed scoring rate drastically
  • Forced risky shots

This shift allowed LSG to chase comfortably without panic.

Why This Spell Matters Ahead of Big Tournaments

Shami’s form is not just important for LSG—it’s a strong signal for Indian cricket.

With major tournaments approaching, performances like this show:

  • He is in peak rhythm
  • His experience remains invaluable
  • He can still dominate in pressure situations

Fans and selectors alike will be watching closely.

Experience Meets Precision

In modern T20 cricket, where batters get all the attention, bowlers like Mohammed Shami remind us that discipline and skill still win games. His 2/9 spell wasn’t flashy, but it was smart, precise, and to the point. If he keeps playing like this, he will win a lot more matches in IPL 2026.

Sanju Samson: “Where Is ICC T20 World Cup Hero”, Asks Angry Chennai Super Kings Fans! Heroics in Question

Sanju Samson

Sanju Samson: Wicketkeeper batsman Sanju Samson has been blasted by die-hard fans of Chennai Super Kings after he looked all lost with no hunger to score runs in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL). Samson, who demonstrated exemplary batting skills in the recently concluded International Cricket Committee (ICC) T20 World Cup 2026, has failed in the first three matches of the IPL 2026.

Interestingly, Sanju Samson was player of the tournament in the ICC T20 World Cup 2026 and scored a brilliant 89 runs off just 46 balls in the final match against New Zealand. His inning included 8 towering sixes and 5 fours; his batting strike rate was 193.48 runs.

Sanju Samson Under The Hammer?

Samson was signed by CSK from the Rajasthan Royals in a trade move. His performances in this year’s IPL have become a pain for enthusiastic fans of CSK who had expected the wicketkeeper batsman to replace the majestic Mahendra Singh Dhoni by taking bowlers to cleaners in the IPL 2026.

Till now, Samson has scored miserable scores of 6, 7 and 9 runs in the IPL 2026. This has left the CSK management worried and the fans frustrated over the team’s remaining season.

Fans Express Anger

Many fans believe that the recent drop in Samson’s performances is more because of a lack of disconnect and hunger at Chennai Super Kings. Fans remarked that the body language of Samson is screaming disinterested. Many claimed that he looks frustrated and disconnected every time the camera is on him.

In the recent match against RCB, CSK struggled after the team’s openers including Samson failed to deliver. RCB piled up a massive 250 runs for the loss of 3 wickets, thanks to a partnership of 99 runs between Rajat Patidar and Tim David and noteworthy contributions from Virat Kohli and Phil Salt. In response, CSK’s top order collapsed to 30 runs and only Jamie Overton, Prashant Veer and Sarfaraz Khan offered any hope. CSK lost the match after being bowled out for 207 runs.

Two Main Perpetrators Behind Chandigarh Grenade Blast Held From Haryana; Total Arrests 7

Punjab News

Continuing its swift action in the Chandigarh grenade attack case amidst the ongoing drive to make Punjab a safe and secure state as per directions of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, Counter Intelligence wing of Punjab Police in joint operation with Chandigarh Police and with the assistance of Haryana Police has successfully arrested the two main perpetrators— who had lobbed hand grenade outside the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) office in Sector 37, Chandigarh— from Rewari in Haryana, said Director General of Police (DGP) Punjab Gaurav Yadav here on Sunday.

Those arrested have been identified as Gurtej Singh and Amanpreet Singh, both residents of Rattangarh in Rupnagar. Accused Amanpreet Singh has a prior criminal record, with FIRs of theft and snatching registered against him in SAS Nagar and Bilaspur in Himachal Pradesh respectively.

The development came a day after five accused— identified as Balwinder Lal alias Shami, Jasvir Singh alias Jassi, Charanjit Singh alias Channi, Rubal Chauhan and Mandeep alias Abhijot Sharma— involved in this case were arrested and one hand grenade along with one .30 bore Zigana pistol were recovered from their possession.

DGP Gaurav Yadav, while addressing the press conference here, said that with these latest arrests, all seven accused involved in the case are now in police custody. The DGP was accompanied by ADGP Counter Intelligence Amit Prasad, ADGP Internal Security SK Verma, IGP Intelligence Dr Sukhchain Singh Gill, AIG SSOC SAS Nagar Deepak Pareek.

The DGP said that the arrested accused had been motivated and directed by ISI-backed foreign-based handlers Baljot Singh alias Jot in Portugal and Harjeet Singh Laadi in Germany, and were promised a monetary reward of Rs 2 lakhs for carrying out the attack.

Acting on the directions of their foreign-based handlers, the accused persons coordinated the delivery and execution of the attack, he said, while adding that accused persons used multiple cutouts and sub-modules to execute the attack.

DGP Gaurav Yadav said that during preliminary questioning, accused Gurtej Singh disclosed that he had come in contact with a foreign-based handler approximately six months ago via social media platform. Acting on the handler’s instructions, Gurtej along with his co-accused Rubal Chauhan and Mandeep alias Abhijot Sharma, collected the consignment of arms and grenades from Jasvir alias Jassi at Village Bharapur in SBS Nagar on March 28, 2026, he said, while adding that, Gurtej subsequently took Amanpreet Singh along to carry out the attack.

The DGP said that on April 1, after conducting a recce, Amanpreet Singh hurled the grenade, while Gurtej Singh recorded the act on his mobile phone at the handler’s behest. Both accused thereafter fled the scene, he said.

DGP Gaurav Yadav thanked the DGsP of Chandigarh and Haryana, and appreciated the significant role played by Chandigarh Police and STF of Haryana Police in unraveling this entire conspiracy and nabbing the accused.

From Heart Disease to Cancer Cure and More; The Mukh Mantri Sehat Yojana Provides Aid in Emergencies

CM Bhagwant Mann

Punjab’s flagship Mukh Mantri Sehat Yojna is emerging as a critical pillar of healthcare security, offering ₹10 lakh coverage per family and enabling faster access to treatment while reducing financial stress during sudden medical emergencies. As illnesses such as heart attack, cancer, and birth complications continue to strike without warning, the Punjab Government’s approach is increasingly centred on bridging the gap between medical urgency and affordability through large-scale public health intervention.

Illnesses like heart attack, cancer, and birth complications can strike without any red flags, causing sudden, severe symptoms and requiring immediate medical attention to prevent serious complications. This suggests that such health conditions often develop silently and strike without warning, leaving little room for delay or indecision. In Punjab, this growing concern is increasingly being viewed through the lens of financial preparedness, with government-backed initiatives like the Mukh Mantri Sehat Yojna aiming to bridge the gap between medical urgency and affordability.

According to the Department of Health and Family Welfare, Punjab, the government, led by CM Bhagwant Singh Mann, is running the health scheme that gives every family free medical treatment up to ₹10 lakh per year. It covers treatment for over 2,300 diseases in both government and private hospitals.

Highlighting the hidden onset of major diseases, global health data underscores the urgency of early intervention. The World Health Organisation informs that diseases like heart disease, cancer, diabetes, and long-term breathing problems cause about 75% of deaths worldwide every year, and many people don’t even know they’re at risk until it’s too late. “By the time patients come to us, the disease is often at an advanced stage,” said Dr Esha Arora, Medical officer (medicine), district hospital, Mohali. “Early detection can help improve outcomes, but it is still not prioritised. Routine screenings remain underutilised, largely because the absence of symptoms creates a false sense of security,” she added.

Medical experts emphasise that when emergencies strike, time becomes the most critical factor. As per the American Heart Association, even a few minutes’ delay in treating a heart attack or stroke can cause permanent damage, or even cost a life. Doctors indicate that hesitation at such moments is common. “Families often pause to consider costs before proceeding with treatment,” said Dr Esha Arora. “That delay can be dangerous.” It is in this context that financial protection schemes like the Mukh Mantri Sehat Yojna are expected to play a transformative role.

From coverage to actual care delivery, the scheme has witnessed substantial uptake across Punjab. Officials state that over 33 lakh families have been enrolled, with lakhs of hospital admissions processed under the scheme, particularly for cardiac procedures, cancer treatment, and dialysis. “The scheme has successfully registered over 33 lakh beneficiaries and approved 1,98,793 free treatments, amounting to approximately ₹3,30,01,32,533. Of this total, ₹59,34,18,468 has already been disbursed to hospitals,“ as per the State health agency, Punjab. People across age groups, from infants to the elderly, have benefited, including those requiring critical interventions such as heart surgeries and cancer care.

Health Department sources further indicate that the initiative has helped reduce out-of-pocket expenditure for many families, especially in high-cost treatments that would otherwise require borrowing or asset sales. This is particularly significant in the Indian context, where out-of-pocket spending accounts for nearly 47% of total healthcare expenditure, as highlighted in National Sample Survey Office and government-backed studies.

Early indicators suggest encouraging trends on the ground, even as comprehensive assessments remain underway. These include improved willingness among patients to seek hospital care, fewer delays in emergency admissions, and a gradual increase in early-stage diagnosis in certain cases, particularly where screening programmes are active.

Punjab Health Minister Balbir Singh stated that the scheme is part of a broader push to ensure equitable healthcare access across the state. “Our objective is to ensure that no family delays treatment due to financial constraints. We are continuously working to expand coverage, improve hospital networks, and strengthen implementation,” he said.

The enrolment drive is continuing to gain momentum, with the state health agency focusing on targeted awareness campaigns to ensure beneficiaries understand how and when to use the scheme. Officials overseeing implementation shared that continuous efforts are being made to create awareness, simplify claim processes, and ensure a smoother, more accessible experience for both hospitals and patients.

At the same time, experts underline that preventive healthcare remains a crucial gap. Regular check-ups, early screenings, and monitoring of risk factors are still limited, particularly in rural areas. Data from the National Family Health Survey indicates that only about one-fourth of rural adults have ever undergone basic health screening, while cancer screening rates among women remain below 2%. While insurance provides a safety net when illness strikes, prevention ultimately determines its severity and outcomes.

Health emergencies may not be predictable, but preparedness can be strengthened. Financial protection through the Mukh Mantri Sehat Yojna, combined with increased awareness and a stronger focus on preventive care, is steadily shaping a more resilient healthcare framework in Punjab. As experts note, when illness strikes without warning, the difference between delay and timely care often determines the difference between recovery and long-term consequences, making preparedness not just a policy priority but a necessity.

CM Bhagwant Singh Mann gifts Jaito development projects worth ₹28.68 crore

CM Mann

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann on Sunday continued his government’s development push across Punjab, unveiling projects worth ₹28.68 crore in Faridkot’s Jaito, including the upgradation of the Community Health Centre into a 30-bed hospital and key investments in drinking water and sports infrastructure, while asserting that the 2022 mandate for the ‘jhaadu’ (AAP’s electoral symbol) has begun realising the dreams of Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh. The Chief Minister contrasted AAP’s governance model with opposition parties, stating that while AAP is delivering clean water, healthcare, education, ₹10 lakh health insurance and financial support to women, traditional parties had failed to serve the people of Punjab.

He sharpened his attack on the BJP, Congress and Akali Dal, questioning their record in power and accusing them of promoting nepotism and criminal elements in politics, while also taking aim at the Centre over poverty and rising hardships.

Announcing that a special session on April 13 will enact a stringent anti-sacrilege law with provisions of no bail for one year and life imprisonment, CM Bhagwant Singh Mann declared the 2027 elections as a clear choice, saying the Congress symbolises the legacy of anti-Sikh riots, the Akali Dal stands discredited, and AAP represents a governance-driven alternative committed to building a “Rangla Punjab.”

Addressing a gathering after laying the foundation stone of several development projects, CM Bhagwant Singh Mann said, “The land of Jaito has always written history, and it deserves our salute. Whether it is literature or struggle, whenever the need arose in any field, Jaito has always stepped forward and stood at the forefront.”

The Chief Minister asserted, “Every vote casted to Akalis will be mandate in favor of sacrilege of Guru and Gurbani.” He said that the Akalis had bruised the psyche of every individual through the desecration of Sri Guru Granth Sahib ji, adding, “Akalis had disrespected the bani of the great Guru Sahiban and ordered firing on the innocents in Behbal Kalan and Bargadi. They have shown grave disrespect to Sri Akal Takht Sahib.” He further stated, “Jathedars of Sri Akal Takht Sahib are selected and removed from their pockets, which is totally unfair.”

Referring to claims of development, CM Bhagwant Singh Mann asserted, “The former Deputy Chief Minister claims that massive development of the state took place during their regime but turns blind eye towards Kotakpura, Behbal Kalan and others where sacrilege of Sri Guru Granth Sahib took place and innocents were killed.”

Taking a jibe at the Akali Dal’s Punjab Bachao Yatra, CM Bhagwant Singh Mann said, “The real name of this gimmick of Akali Dal is parivar bachao yatra.” He added, “I dare the Akali leaders to explain that after looting the state for 15 years, from whom they are trying to save the state.”

He said, “Akalis have plundered the state mercilessly, bruised the psyche of Punjabis emotionally and patronized several mafias.” He asserted, “The Akali leadership can never be forgiven as it was responsible for the genocide of several generations, as the drug trade was patronized by them and bloomed during their long misrule.”

Continuing, CM Bhagwant Singh Mann said, “The Akalis should be booked for the genocide of generations as the drug trade was patronized by them and flourished during their long misrule.” He added, “The hands of these leaders are drenched with the blood of millions of youth who fell prey to drugs supplied in the state in their official vehicles.” He said, “The sins of these leaders are unpardonable and they can never be forgiven by the people for their long saga of misdeeds.”

Meanwhile, outlining legislative action, CM Bhagwant Singh Mann said, “The AAP government has convened the special session of the state assembly on April 13 to amend the Jagat Jot Sri Guru Granth Sahib Satkar Act, 2008.” He added, “Anyone attempting sacrilege will face the strictest punishment, with a minimum of 10 years and up to life imprisonment.” He further said, “The state government has roped in the best legal experts to frame the law, and the Sant Samaj is also being consulted.”

Coming down heavily on the Akali leadership, CM Bhagwant Singh Mann said, “These are opportunist leaders who change their colors and stance like a chameleon as per their convenience and vested political interests.” He added, “Everyone knows that this family was a stooge of Britishers and was conferred the title of Sir by them for hobnobbing against patriots.” He further stated, “The family had feted General Dyer, the perpetrator of Jallianwala Bagh massacre on April 13, 1919, by hosting a dinner for him after this heinous incident.”

He said, “This act exposed their anti-national and anti-Punjab mindset.” He added, “Not only this, the family also ensured that General Dyer was bestowed siropa and forgiveness at Golden Temple.” CM Bhagwant Singh Mann further said, “It is even more shocking that Jathedar Arood Singh, who granted the siropa, was the maternal grandfather of former Lok Sabha MP Simarjit Singh Mann.”

Emphasising history, CM Bhagwant Singh Mann asserted, “History cannot be wiped out and the dubious characters of Badal’s ancestors are etched on its pages.” He added, “The hands of this family are drenched with the blood of patriots and their role in backstabbing nationalists can never be forgotten.”

Calling out the Congress, CM Bhagwant Singh Mann said, “In Congress every leader is aspiring to become the head of the state. They have more CMs than workers.” He added, “Their top leader has snubbed them publicly during a recent rally.” He further remarked, “The Congress is a divided house that will collapse due to infighting.” He said, “It is a pity that leaders sent to unite them are not even aware how to pronounce their names.”

Outlining the 2027 choice, CM Bhagwant Singh Mann said, “People will have three pens to choose from.” He explained, “The first pen is Congress with red ink symbolising attack on Sri Harmandir Sahib, riots of 1984 and other anti-Sikh stances.” He added, “The second pen is of Akalis with one ink of desecration of Sri Guru Granth Sahib.” He asserted, “The third pen is AAP, which is transforming Punjab into Rangla Punjab through path-breaking initiatives.”

Referring to Jaito, he said, “This sacred land has always scripted history and contributed immensely to Punjab’s destiny.” He added, “Traditional leaders were born with silver spoons and never suffered for the country.” He said, “They believe they have a divine right to rule, but in democracy people are supreme.”

Taking a swipe at Sukhbir Singh Badal, CM Bhagwant Singh Mann said, “Instead of discussing education and welfare, he talks about buffaloes, reflecting a narrow mindset.” He added, “Despite getting multiple chances, they looted the state and were rejected by people.”

Criticising opposition conduct, CM Bhagwant Singh Mann said, “Instead of raising real issues, they indulge in mudslinging and wait for their turn to plunder resources.” He added, “Their only aim is power, not public welfare.”

Reiterating AAP’s agenda, CM Bhagwant Singh Mann said, “We talk about education, health, power and agriculture, while others focus on grabbing power.” He added, “Their agenda is family welfare, ours is people’s welfare.” He said, “Due to their misrule, people elected Aam Aadmi Party, which is working tirelessly.”

Reminding people of past regimes, CM Bhagwant Singh Mann said, “Traditional parties have never been loyal to Punjab.” He added, “They are envious because AAP has set the agenda of welfare.” He further said, “Sukhbir Singh Badal is not even aware of Punjab’s basic topography but seeks power.”
