Kejriwal compares Modi govt with British Raj, tears farm laws in Assembly

Delhi Cheif Minister Arvind Kejriwal has extended his support to the agitating farmers in a very solidarity way. Kejriwal tore the copy of three farm laws in the special assembly session of the Legislative Council.

Addressing the Delhi Assembly Kejriwal said that ” the farm laws are introduced for BJP’s electoral funding and not for the farmers.

“I am pained that I have to do this. I did not intend to, but I cannot betray the farmers of my country who have been sleeping on the streets in the cold when the temperature is just 2 degrees Celsius,” Kejriwal said.

“I am a citizen of this country first, a chief minister later. This assembly rejects the three laws and appeals to the central government to meet the demands of farmers,” he said.

“What was the hurry to get the farm laws passed in Parliament during pandemic? It has happened for first time that three laws were passed without voting in Rajya Sabha. I hereby tear the farm laws in this assembly and appeal Centre not to become worst than Britishers,” Kejriwal said as he tore a copy of the farm laws.

Ranking up the matter of the death by suicide of the priest farmer Kejriwal asserted and lashed out at the central government. He also compared the central government with the British Raj.

He said “I want to ask Centre how many sacrifices farmers will have to make, to get their voices heard. Every farmer has become Bhagat Singh. The government is saying that they are reaching out to farmers and trying to explain the benefits of Farm Bills. UP CM told farmers that they’ll benefit from these bills as their land won’t be taken away. Is it a benefit?”

Today the nation also marked 22nd day of the ongoing farmers protest and its becoming a huge problem nation wide.

FDA says Pfizer vaccine vials hold extra doses, expanding supply

Pharmacists have found a way to squeeze extra doses out of vials of Pfizer’s vaccine, potentially expanding the nation’s scarce supply by up to 40 percent.

The Food and Drug Administration said late Wednesday that those extra doses could be used, clearing up confusion that had caused some pharmacists to throw away leftover vaccine for fear of violating the rules the agency set last week.

An FDA spokesman told the news outlet Wednesday that it was informing health providers that “it is acceptable to use every full dose obtainable.”

The news comes after hundreds of extra doses of the vaccine, which was already in short supply, were apparently thrown away over the past few days, according to Politico.

Manufacturers typically overfill vaccine vials to safeguard against spills and other waste, said Erin Fox, a pharmacy expert at University of Utah who monitors drug shortages. “It’s pretty unusual to have a full extra dose or more though – but it does seem to be there!” she said in an email.

While the news offers extra strength to the market optimism, traders are currently concentrating on the US COVID-19 stimulus headlines with skeptic’s eyes.

Read what supreme court says on farmer protest against three farm law

During the hearing on the petitions filed in the Supreme Court against the peasant movement, the apex court said that it accepts the right of the farmers to perform and it cannot cut the right of farmers to ‘right to protest’. Chief Justice SA Bobde, who was hearing the hearing, said that ‘we have to see that the farmer should demonstrate himself and the rights of the people are not violated’. The court said that ‘We are sympathetic to the plight of the farmers and its causes, but you have to change the way this is changed and you have to find a solution to it’.

The court asked the Center, ‘Is it willing to hold agricultural laws during negotiations with farmers?’ The Attorney General said that he would take instructions from the government on this.

Chief Justice SA Bobde said that ‘we have to see that the farmer should demonstrate himself and the rights of the people are not violated’.

He said that any protest is constitutional as long as it does not destroy any property and endangers someone’s life. The court said that the Center and the farmers will have to talk among themselves.

The Chief Justice said that people of the city can remain hungry due to the blockage of Delhi. The intention of the farmers can be fulfilled by negotiation. Just sitting while performing will not benefit. He further said that we are also Indians, we are aware of the condition of the farmers and also sympathize with their issues. But the farmers should change the way of their protest. We will ensure that they can advocate their case and hence we are thinking about setting up a committee. The CJI said that all the farmer organizations that are protesting should reach notice. It also suggested that the case be put before the Vacation Bench of the court during the winter break.

US passes defence policy bill it also includes China aggression against India

The US Parliament has officially passed the $ 740 billion Defense Policy Bill. It has, among other things, opposed Chinese aggression against India on the Line of Actual Control . There has been a military standoff between India and China along the Line of Actual Control in eastern Ladakh since May this year.

Even after several rounds of talks between the two countries, there has been no significant progress towards resolving the deadlock. The US House of Representatives and the Senate passed the National Defense Authorization Act. It not only includes important portions of the language of the resolution of Raja Krishnamurthy, an Indian-American MP, but also urges the Chinese government to end military aggression against India with the LAC.

The Bipartisan Congressional Conference Committee prepared the final bill by combining the House and Senate versions of the bill earlier this month. Krishnamurthy’s resolution was passed with unprecedented bipartisan support in both houses.

It will become law with the signature of President Trump. Trump has threatened to use the veto against the bill, as it does not talk of revoking legal protection for social media companies.

Krishnamurthy said, “Violent aggression is not the answer to anything and this is particularly true in the case of the Line of Actual Control, which is a disputed border area separating China from India.” He said, “In the NDAA By incorporating the language of the proposal and converting it into law after the bill is signed, the US government will send a clear message that China’s aggression against India will not be accepted. Is committed to standing with allies like India.

“The NDAA has raised” considerable concern “over China’s continued military aggression near the border with India. It said that China should work closely with India to reduce tension on LAC through existing diplomatic mechanisms and refrain from attempting to resolve disputes using force.
