The final results of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation election have been reached. In this election, Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) is at number one position, while Bharatiya Janata Party has come second and Asaduddin Owaisi’s party AIMIM has moved to third position. Looking at the seats, the TRS has won 55 seats in the 150-ward municipal corporation, while the BJP has won 48 seats, while the AIMIM has managed to win 44 seats, while the Congress has won only two seats.

TRS has suffered the most in this time election as it won 99 seats last time. At the same time AIMIM has also suffered. In the last election, BJP had only 4 seats in its account, which has increased to 48 this time.

In the results, BJP seems to get a big lead. BJP is in second place with 49 seats. At the same time, TRS is at the first position with 56 seats. There is very little difference between BJP and TRS. AIMIM (43 seats) is on the third position. BJP general secretary Bhupendra Yadav on Friday termed the party’s performance in the GHMC election as a ‘moral victory’, saying the saffron party has emerged as the ‘only option’ of TRS in Telangana.

Bad news is coming out from the team of popular TV show ‘Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’. Abhishek Makwana, the author of this show, committed suicide on 27 November. Abhishek was found hanging in his flat. Police said that Abhishek Makwana had mentioned the financial crisis in the suicide note. Whereas, the family of the deceased alleged that he was a victim of cyber fraud and blackmail.

Police had said that the author mentioned ‘financial troubles’ in his suicide note. Abhishek’s family, on the other hand, has now alleged that the deceased was a victim of blackmail and cyber fraud. Apparently, after Abhishek’s death, the family is receiving calls from fraudsters. Families are being demanded to return the money as the family was made a guarantor for the loan.

The investigation of his email after his death has revealed this. According to Janice, the thugs are still pressuring the family members to pay the money. Some of the numbers being used to threaten are from Bangladesh and Myanmar. After Makwana’s suicide, Charkop police started investigating ADR by registering ADR. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on December 4 seized fugitive Vijay Mallya’s assets in France worth 1.6 million euros.

“On the request of Directorate of Enforcement (ED), a property of Vijay Mallya located at 32 Avenue FOCH, France has been seized by the French Authority. The value of the seized assets in France is 1.6 million euros (Rs 14 crore). Investigations revealed that a large amount was remitted abroad from the bank account of Kingfisher Airlines Ltd,” the ED said in a statement.

As per investigations conducted under Prevention of Money Laundering Act, 2002 (PMLA), it was found that a large amount was remitted abroad from the bank account of M/s. Kingfisher Airlines Ltd. (KAL).

Mallya, an accused in a bank loan default case of over Rs 9,000 crore involving his defunct Kingfisher Airlines, is in the UK since March 2016. He is on bail on an extradition warrant executed three years ago by Scotland Yard on April 18, 2017.

“We have planned to block all roads leading to Delhi in the coming days if new farm laws are not scrapped,” he also said.

Maharashtra Teacher Wins ‘Global Teacher Prize’ for Educating Girls

A primary school teacher from India was on Thursday named the winner of the $1 million annual Global Teacher Prize 2020 in recognition of his efforts to promote girls’ education and trigger a quick-response (QR) coded textbook revolution in India.

The Global Teacher Prize is an annual award instituted by the Varkey Foundation. It is awarded to a teacher who has made an outstanding contribution to the profession.

Launched in 2014, nominations are open worldwide to teachers. This year, there were 12,000 nominations from across the world for the award.

Ranjitsinh Disale, a primary school teacher at a government school in the village of Paritewadi.

After applying for the award, Disale went through a long procedure and was selected to the top 100. Disale faced interviews, audit and verification by PWC and other third party agencies. He said it has been several months since the process started.

Disale has announced that he will voluntarily share half the prize money with the other nine finalists (they will get over US$55,000 each). 

This is the first time in the Global Teacher Prize’s six-year history that the overall winner has shared the prize money with other finalists.

The announcement was made by actor and writer Stephen Fry at a virtual ceremony broadcast from the Natural History Museum in London. A jubilant Disale heard the news at home in India, surrounded by his family.

He started teaching at the school in 2009, when it was in a rundown building next to a cattle shed, according to organisers. School attendance was low and teenage marriage common.

The curriculum was not even in the girls’ main language, Kannada. Disale moved to the village, learned the language and translated the class textbooks.

All you have to do is install the app and go to sign up option wherein you will be required to fill your name and email id/number. The account can be created through any payment info that you use.

However, Netflix has now clarified that the StreamFest will have a limited capacity as the OTT giant wants to offer best services to the consumers.

 “To make sure everyone gets the best Netflix experience, we may have to limit the amount of StreamFest members. So you may see a message that StreamFest is at capacity,” the platform said in an official statement.

“At Netflix, we want to bring the most amazing stories from across the world to all fans of entertainment in India. It’s why we’re hosting StreamFest: an entire weekend of free Netflix,” the company had earlier said while making the StreamFest’s announcement.

Users who are already registered will not be able to access the free services irrespective of the type of their account. For new users, the services will be available across various platforms like iOS, TV, gaming console, Android apps and web browser, however, they will be limited to a single stream in standard definition.

When paid, Netflix plans in India stand somewhere between Rs 199 and 799.

Ram Setu: CM Yogi grants Akshay Kumar permission to shoot in Ayodhya

Akshay Kumar announced his new project Ram Setu on Diwali this year. According to latest reports, the actor is all set to start the shooting for the same. In his recent meeting with Uttar Pradesh CM, the actor reportedly discussed the story line of the film. Further, the reports suggested that the actor also asked UP CM for his permission to shoot in Ayodhya where the Ram Temple construction in underway. As informed by an close aide, the CM has happily granted permission to the actor to shoot in Ayodhya.

According to a Mumbai Mirror report, Akshay and director Abhishek Sharma wanted to shoot the film in the real location to give more realistic approach to the story. A source has further told that the shooting of the film will commence from Mid 2021.

“Set in today’s India, it’s the journey of the protagonist to discover if the Ram Setu is a myth or reality. Since Akshay and his director, Abhishek Sharma, want to present an accurate depiction, they want to shoot in real locations in the state, including Ayodhya, the birthplace of Lord Ram.
