IPL 2020: Rajasthan Royals captain Steven Smith hints Ben Stokes could play next game

The Rajasthan Royals have suffered their fourth consecutive defeat in the 13th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL). Rajasthan Royals lost by 46 runs to Delhi Capitals on Friday.

After the match, Rajasthan Royals captain Steve Smith said, “Stokes hasn’t had a lot of practice,” Smith said after his team succumbed to their fourth successive defeat in Friday’s contest against table-toppers Delhi Capitals in Sharjah.

“He gets out of quarantine tomorrow, so we’ll see if he plays the day after tomorrow,” said the Australian.

Rajasthan began their campaign in search of their second IPL title with back-to-back victories before their campaign stuttered.

“Not playing good enough over the full 40 overs,” Smith said. “We are doing some good things in patches, but unfortunately not executing well under pressure.”

IPL 2020: Vijay Dahiya believes Delhi Capitals can win the tournament

Delhi Capitals are sitting on top of the points table their head scout Vijay Dahiya praised the performance of his team so far in this years’ IPL.

“It was a team game played by the individuals – you play your role, you play your part or sometimes you do something extraordinary, and this is the whole crux of this team,” said Dahiya.

“This is what team is all about, that’s what our boys are doing. I mean we are not dependent on one person, every game you see a different individual steps up, raises his hand and delivers for the team and that’s what the whole quality of any team,” he added.

Dahiya stated that if Delhi Captals will play with their strengths then they can get the results and win the tournament.

“We do respect whoever we meet in this tournament, but yes, more and more emphasis is on ourselves, and to just execute whatever we are practising in the nets and planning in our meetings. If we can do that, we will get the desired results,” he said.

When asked on back-to-back matches, Dahiya added, “I guess there’s no doubt about back-to-back matches proving to be challenging. Barring Dubai, the travel for us is over two hours for each match, and that’s the main challenge you have here. Otherwise, when you are playing back home in India, there’s more air-time, and you end up getting up early and then traveling to another city. So I think it’s comparatively less taxing on your body here, and doesn’t push you to the limits compared to what happens when you play in India.”

“But yes, it is still demanding because we have different grounds, different mindsets, different surfaces and tough conditions. However, I believe our team is up for any kind of challenges thrown at them,” he added.

IPL 2020: Batsmen need to perform, says Rajasthan Royals captain Steven Smith

After the fourth consecutive defeat in this years’ Indian Premier League (IPL), Rajasthan Royals captain Steve Smith has admitted that his team has failed to deliver as a batting unit in all these matches. Skipper Smith said Rajasthan has to bounce back in order to move forward in the tournament.

“It’s been difficult four games for us. We’ve not been able to get in the performances under pressure and that has hurt us. We bowled and fielded well for large parts of the game against Delhi and that’s a positive for us,” said Smith as per a release issued by the franchise.

“Our batting needs to click for us, we have not been able to get a good start in our four games and the top four just haven’t been able to score a lot of runs in games, which has been detrimental for us and we’ll have to address that and try to bounce back from this situation,” he added.

The Rajasthan captain further lauded Sunrisers Hyderabad for their best show against them. Rajasthan Royals are currently at the seventh spot in the points table after a terrific start in the initial phase.

“The games are coming in thick and fast so we need to adjust quickly and put on our best show against a strong Sunrisers team who’ve got a good overall team, we’ll have to be at our very best to beat them,” the 31-year-old said.

Google plans to turn YouTube into an e-commerce giant

We often come across various goods on YouTube while watching videos. Soon, these products will be available for viewing for sale on YouTube itself.

The video viewing site is currently testing features that will allow users to buy products directly on the platform. The company has asked creators to use its software to tag and track products featured in the clips.

The data will have links directed t o analytics and shopping tools from parent Google.

Be it gaming, photography or fashion, many channels use advertisements link on YouTube as a medium to earn extra money.

If you are someone who visits YouTube often, you must have come across Amazon referral link provided in video’s description. Now of the latest plan is materialised, you would be able to purchase the product from link right then and right there on YouTube.

The company is currently testing features with Shopify Inc to integrate methods to sell items through YouTube directly.

If successful, this move by Google can be a threat to leadin e-commerce websites including Amazon, Alibaba and Flipkart.

“YouTube is one of the least utilized assets,” said Andy Ellwood, president of e-commerce startup Basket. “If they decided they want to invest in it, it’s a huge opportunity for them.”

Alphabet Inc.’s Google has launched multiple attempts at online commerce, and have been successful to a limit. However, until now, the company has focused on promoting products and generating revenue by ads rather than selling itself.

World Mental Health Day 2020

“Try to be a rainbow in someone else’s cloud” let’s talk about it.

For boosting awareness about the mental health issues and to mobilize efforts in support of mental health issues around the world, every year on 10th October, World Mental Health Day is observed.

The theme of the World Mental Health Day 2020 is related to the need for investment in mental health. According to the World Federation for Mental Health (WFMH), the World Mental Health Day theme in 2020 is “Mental Health for All: Greater Investment – Greater Access.”

What is mental health?

Being mentally healthy doesn’t just mean that you don’t have a mental health problem.

If you’re in good mental health, you can:

make the most of your potential

cope with life

play a full part in your family, workplace, community and among friends.

HISTORY OF WORLD MENTAL HEALTH DAY

In 1992, the World Federation of Mental Health led by the deputy secretary-general at the time, Richard Hunter, created World Mental Health Day. They didn’t have a precise objective other than to advocate for mental health as a whole.

To say the least, it was an uphill climb to change a plethora of bad and dangerous habits that were making a difficult situation worse for people.

Mental health is everyone’s business. We all have times when we feel down or stressed or frightened. Most of the time those feelings pass. But sometimes they develop into a more serious problem and that could happen to anyone of us.

Everyone is different. You may bounce back from a setback while someone else may feel weighed down by it for a long time.

Your mental health doesn’t always stay the same. It can change as circumstances change and as you move through different stages of your life.

Here are a few common signs of mental illness in adults and adolescents:

Excessive mood changes

– Overthinking

– Sleep or appetite changes

– Feeling lost or disconnected

– Unusual behaviour

– Apathy

– Suicidal

– Aggression

– Temper issues

– Frequent nightmares

– Unable to carry out daily activities

– Overindulgence of drugs or alcohol

World Mental Health Day 2020 is the most important one yet. The months of lockdown and loss have had a huge impact on us all, and prioritising mental health has never been more important than it is now.

We all deserve to feel safe and supported when talking about our mental health. But too often, mental health stigma leaves people feeling isolated and ashamed. At worst, it prevents people from getting support, finding employment or having open conversations.

Attitudes towards mental health have improved, but the stories of many are still not being heard or understood.

A mental health crisis is looming as the COVID-19 pandemic pushes people into isolation, poverty and anxiety, experts say. And as demand for help increases, the crisis has affected critical mental health services in 93% of countries, data from the World Health Organization shows.

According to WHO’s recent report, India is the most depressed country in the world. The report suggests that one in seven people from India have suffered from mental illness such as depression and anxiety from 1990 and 2017.

It is an alarming situation for the country to secure the future of upcoming generations.

Mental Illness is still a taboo in Indian society and people hesitates to talk on such topic as they are afraid that they might face discrimination because of it.

There is also a very low number of health professionals to deal with mental health issues in India and has been suffering from chronic underfunding. Thus, it has become very important to invest in mental health programmes not only in India but across the globe.
