Actor Celina Jaitly has made a series of emotional and disturbing allegations against her husband, Austrian entrepreneur Peter Haag, amid their ongoing divorce and custody battle. The actress claimed she has been denied communication with her children despite joint custody orders.”

The controversy intensified after Mumbai Police reportedly registered an FIR against Peter Haag following Celina Jaitly’s complaint. The case includes allegations of cruelty, physical harm, harassment and criminal intimidation. Reports also claim that a Look Out Circular (LOC) has been issued against Haag due to alleged non-cooperation in the investigation.

Celina Jaitly Shares Emotional Message About Her Children

Amid the legal dispute, Celina recently shared an emotional video on social media from the grave of her late son, Shamsher. In the post, the actress described the last few weeks as the “most difficult” phase of her life.

She wrote, “I had no option but to share this devastating video to show the world my trauma as a mother. The last few weeks were the most difficult of my life. I was in Austria for my divorce hearing ….”

Celina further alleged that even after assurances before an Austrian court, her children were not returned to the marital residence. She stated, “Despite an undertaking before an Austrian judge, my children who were removed to an undisclosed location were not brought back to the marital residence. The only child I got to meet was my son Shamsher, who passed away some time back. This is the heartbreaking story of a mother who has done everything for her children from the day they were born.”

Actress Alleges Abuse And Financial Control

According to reports, the FIR was registered at Versova Police Station under multiple sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023. The complaint reportedly includes accusations of emotional, physical, verbal and financial abuse.

Last year, Celina also approached the Judicial Magistrate First Class court in Andheri under the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act. In her petition, she reportedly sought interim relief and damages worth Rs 50 crore.

The actress alleged that her husband prevented her from working and slowly took away her financial independence.

She wrote, “I left my country, my parents, my work and moved from India to Dubai, Singapore, Austria, back to Dubai, Austria AGAIN all to support my husband’s career.”

She also claimed that she raised their children largely on her own while supporting her husband’s career ambitions and relocations across countries.

Celina Jaitly Says She Was Denied Contact With Children

Celina further alleged that despite joint custody and existing Austrian court orders, she is currently unable to communicate with her children.

She shared, “Despite joint custody and a subsisting order of the Austrian Family Court, I am presently DENIED ANY COMMUNICATION with my 3 children and I am heartbroken.”

The actress additionally accused Peter Haag of interfering in her relationship with the children and exposing them to selective narratives against her.

Celina Jaitly married Peter Haag in 2010 in Mumbai before their marriage was later registered under Austrian civil law. The couple has three children – Viraaj, Winston and Arthur.

The legal proceedings are currently ongoing, while Celina’s emotional posts and allegations continue to spark reactions.

Sanju Samson or Shreyas Iyer: Who’ll Helm India T20 Team? Suspense Decoded

Sanju- Samson
Google

Sanju Samson: Cricket fans are excited as India’s T20I captaincy is uncertain after Suryakumar Yadav’s time in charge is being questioned. Recent reports highlight Rajasthan Royals’ Sanju Samson as the leading candidate, surpassing Punjab Kings’ Shreyas Iyer in a close competition.

Why Sanju Samson Leads the Race

Samson, the Player of the Tournament in the T20 World Cup 2026, has a steady presence in India’s T20I team. Selectors appreciate his recent form and leadership in crucial matches. This stands in contrast to Iyer, who has not played in T20Is since December 2023. A report from Dainik Jagran highlights that this change could impact the upcoming Ireland-England series, with Samson’s squad stability as a key advantage.

His performance in the IPL shows a mix of explosive batting and calm leadership. He handles pressure better than Iyer. Samson thrives in tense situations, making him well-suited for the unpredictable nature of T20 cricket.

Shreyas Iyer’s Hurdles

Iyer shines in IPL and Tests, but his lack of T20I performances hurts his chances. Experts say he needs to secure a spot first before aiming for the top role. Despite the rumors, selectors focus on players making current contributions in T20.

Verdict: Samson’s Edge

Sanju Samson is BCCI’s top choice, although Suryakumar may stay in the mix for a short time. Hardik Pandya is also in the background, but current reports favor Samson. Keep an eye on the IPL 2026 finale for hints; this excitement is sure to deliver surprises!

Nashik TCS Case: New Twist in Nida Khan Arrest, Fresh AIMIM Involvement Comes to Fore, Check Latest Update

Nashik- TCS- Case
Google

The Nashik TCS case has caught the nation’s attention due to serious allegations of sexual harassment, stalking, and forced religious conversions at Tata Consultancy Services’ Nashik unit. Female employees reported being targeted through social media platforms like Facebook and WhatsApp with inappropriate messages and coercion over four years. Seven other suspects were arrested earlier, but Nida Khan, an HR manager and a key suspect, avoided capture for 42 days until her dramatic arrest on May 8, 2026, in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar.

The Arrest and AIMIM Connection

Nashik Police, along with local forces, arrested Nida Khan in Naregaon. AIMIM corporator Abdul Mateen Patel is accused of sheltering her family, providing food, and helping her hide. Patel is facing charges under BNS Section 238 (or 249) for helping an offender and destroying evidence. Reports indicate that former AIMIM MP Imtiaz Jaleel met Khan recently, raising calls for a full party investigation.

Political Firestorm Ignites

BJP and Shiv Sena leaders criticized AIMIM’s role, saying it is part of a larger “conspiracy.” Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis said it’s “clear” Patel helped. He promised to reveal everyone involved in the “conversion racket” and called it “corporate jihad.” He praised TCS for acting quickly.

TCS Response and Next Steps

TCS confirmed that no internal complaints were received at first but began an investigation while planning to fire six other employees accused of misconduct. Khan was placed in police custody for three days. The investigations are expanding with testimonies from victims and digital evidence. We await the NCW report. This case shows gaps in workplace safety within IT companies and has led to demands for stricter POSH audits.

India CDS Appointment: NS Raja Subramani Steps Into Bipin Rawat’s Legacy! Why Should Beijing and Islamabad Be Nervous?

India CDS Appointment

India CDS Appointment: The Union Government has announced the appointment of NS Raja Subramani as the next Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) to carry on the legacy of General Bipin Rawat. In another development, Vice Admiral Krishna Swaminathan was named by the Union Government as the next Chief of Naval Staff.

The post, once held by General Bipin Rawat who was considered as the architect of India’s military integration reforms, is among the most powerful strategic positions in the Indian security framework. Subramani’s elevation is not only a routine military appointment but it signals continuity in India’s long-term effort to build a more aggressive, technologically integrated and theatre-oriented military force.

Impact Of India CDS Appointment On China And Pakistan

India remains one of the few countries facing the possibility of simultaneous military pressure from two nuclear-armed neighbours. China’s infrastructure build-up near the LAC and Pakistan’s continued military coordination with Beijing create a complex strategic environment.

Both China and Pakistan closely monitor changes in India’s higher defence leadership, especially in the CDS structure created to streamline war-fighting across the Army, Navy and Air Force. The appointment of an officer known for operational experience along both the western and northern borders suggests that New Delhi intends to sharpen its strategic preparedness amid rising tensions in the Indo-Pacific, the Line of Actual Control (LAC), and the western front with Pakistan.

Unlike ceremonial military appointments of the past, the CDS today functions as the government’s principal military adviser and the key driver of joint warfare planning. The office also heads the Department of Military Affairs, making it central to procurement reforms, operational integration, cyber preparedness and future military doctrines.

Subramani’s operational background along the western sector gives him first-hand understanding of Pakistan’s military patterns and escalation strategies. His appointment may therefore strengthen India’s effort to build quicker response mechanisms for border crises, terror incidents and hybrid warfare scenarios.

NS Raja Subramani-Highly Decorated Officer

NS Raja Subramani has received the prestigious Param Vishisht Seva Medal (PVSM), Ati Vishisht Seva Medal (AVSM), Sena Medal and Vishisht Seva Medal.

Subramani succeeds General Anil Chauhan [PVSM, UYSM, AVSM, SM and VSM] who would complete his official tenure on May 30, 2026. Subramani would be serving as the Secretary of the Department of Military Affairs from the day of assumption of official charge until further orders.

Veteran actor and Ranbir Kapoor‘s mother Neetu Kapoor has sparked fresh conversation around mental health and healing after sharing her views on therapy. During a recent podcast appearance, the actress revealed that she personally does not believe in therapy and instead finds comfort in close friendships, family support and work.

Neetu Kapoor opened up about dealing with the emotional pain after losing her husband Rishi Kapoor in 2020. The actress admitted that although many people advised her to seek professional help, she struggled to connect with the process and eventually realised that inner strength mattered more for her healing journey.

Neetu Kapoor Says Friends Matter More Than Therapists

Speaking on All About Her podcast hosted by Soha Ali Khan, Neetu Kapoor explained why she values friendships over therapy sessions. She said, “I don’t believe in therapists, honestly. I believe in friends. You should have four or five close friends with whom you can really talk things out.”

The actress shared that emotional support from trusted people helped her more than professional counselling during difficult times. Recalling the emotional phase after Rishi Kapoor’s death, Neetu Kapoor said she did try therapy once but could not relate to it.

She revealed, “When Rishi passed away, people told me to go to a therapist. I was very low and I did speak to one, but I kept asking myself, ‘What am I doing here?’ Till I am not mentally strong myself, what can therapy do? They tell you to meditate, count numbers, do this and that… for me, it felt like nonsense.”

She further added that healing takes time and must come from within. According to Neetu, people eventually have to decide for themselves when they want to become emotionally stronger and move ahead in life. For the actress, work, family and friendships became the biggest pillars of support.

Actress Currently Appearing In Daadi Ki Shaadi

On the work front, Neetu Kapoor is receiving appreciation for her performance in Daadi Ki Shaadi, which released on May 8, 2026. Directed by Ashish R Mohan, the family comedy-drama explores loneliness and companionship in old age through a chaotic Punjabi family setup. The story follows a grandmother’s decision to remarry, creating unexpected tension within the family.

The film also stars Kapil Sharma, Riddhima Kapoor Sahni and Aamir Khan‘s sister Nikhat Khan. It also marks Riddhima Kapoor Sahni’s big-screen debut alongside her mother.

Despite positive reviews for Neetu Kapoor’s graceful performance and the film’s emotional message, Daadi Ki Shaadi witnessed a slow start at the box office after its release. Made on an estimated budget of Rs 20 crore, the film earned around Rs 60 lakh on its opening day in India, while the worldwide gross stood close to Rs 72 lakh.

Suvendu Adhikari

Suvendu Adhikari: Suvendu Adhikari is all set to become the first Chief Minister of West Bengal from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) today.

Political Rise Of Suvendu Adhikari

The rise of Suvendu Adhikari started far away from Kolkata’s elite political circles. Hailing from Purba Medinipur district, he built his image through grassroots activism and regional political influence.

In 2007, his political breakthrough moment came during the historic Nandigram land acquisition movement. The protests transformed Nandigram into a national political flashpoint, and Adhikari emerged as one of the movement’s most recognizable faces. The movement significantly weakened the Left Front government and eventually contributed to Mamata Banerjee’s rise to power in 2011.

Suvendu went on to become Mamata Banerjee’s closest political associates and expanded the Trinamool Congress organization in rural Bengal, especially in Junglemahal and western districts.

CM Swearing-In Ceremony

Adhikari will be sworn in as the 25th Chief Minister of the state of West Bengal by Governor RN Ravi on May 9, 2026, at 10am at Kolkata’s Brigade Parade Ground.

The CM swearing-in ceremony would be led by the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP national president Nitin Nabin, Chief Ministers of BJP-ruled states and many Union Ministers.

Historic Mandate

The event marks the end of the 15-year-tenure of Mamata Banerjee and Trinamool Congress (TMC) after the BJP received a historic mandate after winning 207 seats out of a total of 294 seats as against TMC that won only 80 seats.

West Bengal CM Oath Ceremony-List Of Dignitaries

The list also includes big names such as Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, CM Yogi Adityanath, Bihar CM Samrat Choudhary, Union Minister JP Nadda, Union Minister Ram Mohan Naidu, Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu.

Others include Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, Union Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Gujarat CM Bhupendra Patel.

Veteran actor Moushumi Chatterjee has made some striking remarks about late superstar Rajesh Khanna, offering a rare glimpse into his personality during the peak of his fame. Known as Hindi cinema’s first superstar, Rajesh Khanna enjoyed unmatched popularity in the 1970s, but Moushumi’s latest comments suggest that the massive success may have also changed him in many ways.

In a recent interview with NDTV, Moushumi Chatterjee reflected on her experiences working with Rajesh Khanna and spoke candidly about his behaviour and personal struggles. While recalling their time together, the actress called him “a spoilt brat” and linked his eventual downfall to “karma.”

Rajesh Khanna Always Had Stardom In His Head’

Moushumi Chatterjee did not hold back while speaking about Rajesh Khanna’s larger-than-life image during his peak years. The actress said, “He was a spoilt brat. His success was always in his head.”

Rajesh Khanna ruled Hindi cinema at a time when his fan following was unmatched. However, the arrival of Amitabh Bachchan and the rise of the “angry young man” era gradually changed Bollywood’s landscape. As audience preferences shifted, Rajesh Khanna reportedly struggled to deal with the fading superstardom that once defined his life.

Moushumi Chatterjee Calls His Downfall ‘Karma’

When asked whether Rajesh Khanna often appeared lonely during the later phase of his career, Moushumi Chatterjee gave a philosophical response. She said, “No, it is all karma. The way you design your life, and the way you pretend to be what you are not, and the way you respond to all relationships.”

The actress also shared her views on loneliness and emotional struggles faced by celebrities. According to her, everyone experiences emptiness at some point in life, regardless of fame or success. She added, “If you say everybody is alone, you should know how to enjoy your alone time. Don’t feel lonely. I enjoy my aloneness.”

Moushumi further mentioned legendary names like Kishore Kumar and Madhubala, saying many iconic stars dealt with similar emotional phases in life.

Rajesh Khanna Era Was Full Of Competition

Moushumi Chatterjee also opened up about the atmosphere inside the film industry during the 1970s and 1980s. She explained that competition and power struggles among stars were always part of Bollywood.

She said, “Whoever was at the top felt whatever they said had to be obeyed. It was always there. Everybody who rules feels they can rule everything.”

Over the years, Rajesh Khanna and Moushumi Chatterjee worked together in several memorable films, including Anuraag, Prem Bandhan, Humshakal and Bhola Bhala.

Sai Pallavi Calls Herself ‘Miscast’ After Junaid Khan’s Ek Din Flop – Will She Be Able To Justify ‘Sita’ In Ramayana?

Sai Pallavi

Sai Pallavi has sparked fresh discussion in the film industry after openly admitting she felt “miscast” in her Hindi debut film Ek Din, co-starring Junaid Khan. Produced by Aamir Khan, the film failed to perform at the box office and received mixed to negative reactions from audiences. Her honest comment has now triggered debate about whether this experience could impact her much bigger upcoming role in Ramayana.

The romantic drama marked Sai Pallavi’s official Bollywood debut, but the film struggled to connect with viewers and was labelled a box office disappointment. Reports suggest the film earned only modest collections despite strong expectations. In a candid conversation, Sai Pallavi admitted she personally felt she did not fully fit the role, adding that the experience made her question her casting choice.

Sai Pallavi Calls Herself “Miscast” After Ek Din Failure

According to recent interviews and reports, Sai Pallavi said she felt UNSURE about her character in Ek Din and believed she may not have been the right fit for the role. The film’s poor performance only added more attention to her statement.

The film, directed by Sunil Pandey and produced by Aamir Khan Productions, was a romantic drama that also marked Junaid Khan’s theatrical lead role alongside Sai Pallavi. Despite the buzz around the pairing, the film failed to deliver strong box office numbers and received criticism for weak storytelling and limited emotional impact.

Her honest admission has now raised a bigger question in the industry — whether actors can recover confidence after a debut film does not work as expected.

5 Concerns Around Her Casting In Ramayana

Sai Pallavi is now set to play Sita in Nitesh Tiwari’s mega-budget epic Ramayana, starring Ranbir Kapoor as Ram. However, her recent comments have led to discussions about whether she can justify such a large and culturally sensitive role.

Here are the key concerns being discussed:

1. Pressure of a mythological icon role
Sita is one of the most respected characters in Indian mythology, and expectations are extremely high.

2. The “miscast” admission
Her own doubts about Ek Din have raised questions about confidence in demanding roles.

3. Shift from realism to epic scale cinema
Ramayana demands a completely different performance style compared to modern romantic dramas.

4. Heavy visual and emotional expectations
The film is being mounted on a massive budget with global-level VFX planning, increasing pressure on the cast.

5. Public scrutiny and online trolling
Sai Pallavi has already faced online debates regarding her suitability for mythological roles, which may add pressure during release cycles.

Will Sai Pallavi Be Able To Justify Sita?

Despite the debate, many industry voices continue to support Sai Pallavi, calling her one of the most natural performers in Indian cinema. In earlier discussions, even co-star Junaid Khan defended her performance in Ek Din, saying she brought sincerity to the role despite challenges.

Meanwhile, Ramayana remains one of the most anticipated Indian films, scheduled for a grand multi-part release starting in 2026. The film features Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi and Yash in key roles and is being touted as a landmark mythological epic in Indian cinema.

Sai Pallavi’s “miscast” comment may have come from a single experience, but it has now led to a much larger conversation about casting pressure, expectations and performance scale in modern Bollywood.

Whether it affects Ramayana or not, the actress remains one of the most closely watched stars heading into India’s biggest upcoming film projects. It will be interesting to see if she justifies the role of Sita or falls short of expectations.

Vijay Deverakonda Birthday: Why His Films Always Start Big But Fade Fast?

Vijay Deverakonda Birthday Why His Films Always Start Big But Fade Fast

Vijay Deverakonda is celebrating his 37th birthday today (May 9, 2026). The actor remains one of the most talked-about stars in Indian cinema even today. Every announcement around his films trends instantly online. Teasers go viral within minutes, and expectations rise sharply even before release. But when the films hit theatres, the results often don’t match the hype.

From Arjun Reddy to Geetha Govindam, Dear Comrade, Liger and Kingdom, the pattern has been consistent. Strong openings are followed by sharp drops in momentum, making his box office journey a mix of highs and setbacks.

Vijay Deverakonda And The Arjun Reddy Effect

The turning point in Vijay Deverakonda’s career came with Arjun Reddy (2017). The film became a cultural phenomenon and reportedly earned around Rs 50–60 crore worldwide on a modest budget. It turned him into a youth sensation overnight.

After this, Vijay Deverakonda’s popularity exploded online. Even small updates from his films began trending on social media. His “rowdy” image became a powerful brand among younger audiences.

He followed it with Geetha Govindam (2018), which became a huge commercial success and reportedly crossed ₹100 crore worldwide. It proved that Vijay Deverakonda could also deliver clean, family-friendly entertainers.

But this success also raised expectations to a level where every new film was compared to his biggest hits.

When Hype Outgrows The Film

After his early success, Vijay Deverakonda’s films began showing a clear trend of strong openings but weak sustainability.

  • Dear Comrade opened well but dropped due to mixed audience response
  • World Famous Lover failed to connect with wider audiences
  • Liger became the biggest example of hype vs reality, with massive pan-India promotions but poor box office results
  • Kingdom (2025) reportedly opened around Rs 15.5 crore but struggled to maintain momentum in later days

This pattern indicates that Vijay’s films get big opening numbers driven by hype, followed by sharp drops once word-of-mouth takes over.

Vijay Deverakonda Film Face Over-Promotion Challenge

One major factor behind this trend is aggressive marketing. Films like Liger were promoted as pan-India blockbusters long before release, building huge expectations. However, audience reactions suggested that the final product did not match the scale of promotion. Trade discussions around Liger also noted that heavy marketing created a “larger-than-life” image that the film could not sustain.

This gap between expectation and execution has become a key challenge for Vijay Deverakonda films.

Why Vijay Deverakonda Still Delivers Big Openings

Despite mixed outcomes, Vijay Deverakonda continues to pull strong opening numbers. This is driven by:

Massive youth fan following
Strong social media presence
High curiosity around every release
Pan-India branding strategy

Even films with weak reviews often open well because audiences turn up for curiosity and star power. But after the first couple of days, word-of-mouth becomes the real deciding factor.

To sum it up, Vijay Deverakonda remains one of the most influential young stars in Indian cinema. His films always dominate conversations before release and create massive buzz. But his journey shows one simple truth:

Hype creates openings
Content creates impact

Until both align consistently, Vijay Deverakonda’s films will continue to swing between massive expectations and unpredictable box office results.

Leading ‘Shukrana Yatra’ in Malwa region, CM Bhagwant Singh Mann says, “BJP is branding Punjabis, who made highest sacrifices for nation, as anti-national”

CM Mann

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann on Friday tore into the BJP and communal forces while leading the third day of the ‘Shukrana Yatra’ across the Malwa region, pointing out to the saffron party’s agenda of trying to brand patriotic Punjabis as “anti-national” and conspiring to destroy the state’s centuries-old social harmony for electoral gains.

Beginning the yatra from Bathinda and paying obeisance at Sri Damdama Sahib, the Chief Minister warned that the same “politics of fear and division” unleashed in West Bengal was now being attempted in Punjab, where communal forces were trying to pit communities against each other to polarise society and capture power. The Chief Minister also asserted that Punjabis, who made the greatest sacrifices for the country’s freedom and unity, would never allow such forces to succeed in Punjab, while declaring that those involved in beadbi cases, including protectors and handlers, would now face stringent punishment under the new law, including life imprisonment and fines up to ₹50 lakh.

Addressing massive gatherings at Talwandi Sabo, Bathinda city and Kotshamir, CM Bhagwant Singh Mann called upon Punjabis to unite against divisive forces inimical to the peace, amity and communal harmony of the state, asserting that communal politics would never be allowed to disturb Punjab’s centuries-old brotherhood. Coining the slogan “Punjab belongs to Punjabis,” CM Bhagwant Singh Mann said, “Those trying to disturb communal harmony are enemies of Punjab. The BJP has gained power in Maharashtra, Haryana, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh and Bengal through divisive politics, but such conspiracies would never succeed in Punjab because people here celebrate every festival together.”

“Communal parties are conspiring to break Punjab’s brotherhood and their sinister agenda must not be allowed to succeed,” CM Bhagwant Singh Mann said. He added that these political parties want to divide Punjabis and pit communities against each other for electoral gains.

Citing the example of West Bengal, CM Bhagwant Singh Mann said the situation there deteriorated drastically after BJP came to power and innocent people’s houses are being set on fire. “The moment BJP formed the government in West Bengal, an atmosphere of fear spread everywhere. The same conspiracy is now being hatched for Punjab,” CM Bhagwant Singh Mann said. “First they pit two communities against each other, then they stand with one side and intimidate the other to secure votes,” he added.

Targeting RSS and BJP over nationalism, CM Bhagwant Singh Mann said RSS did not hoist the Tricolour at its headquarters for 52 years, yet today they are distributing certificates of patriotism to others. “Punjabis made countless sacrifices for the nation during the freedom struggle and do not need certificates from self-proclaimed patriots,” he said.

Referring to Partition, he said Punjab suffered the most during that painful period and nearly one million Punjabis lost their lives, whereas those now questioning Punjab’s patriotism had made no such sacrifices for the nation. He said some BJP leaders are demanding sedition charges against him while forgetting that Punjabis have made nearly 90 percent sacrifices for the nation and are now being labelled traitors. “Punjabis who made the highest sacrifices for the nation are now being branded anti-national by the BJP,” said the Chief Minister.

Targeting opposition leaders, CM Bhagwant Singh Mann said leaders like Sunil Jakhar need introspection because they cannot tolerate seeing the son of an ordinary family honestly serving Punjab after becoming head of the state. Training his guns on Congress and Shiromani Akali Dal, CM Bhagwant Singh Mann described both parties as looters that plundered Punjab’s wealth for decades while ignoring welfare of common people. “Opposition parties are asking for another chance to loot Punjab, but people will now send them not to power, only to jail,” he said.

He said Shiromani Akali Dal leader Sukhbir Singh Badal is daydreaming about returning to power, but the wise people of Punjab will never again vote for those who repeatedly betrayed the state.

Meanwhile, CM Bhagwant Singh Mann said that as a devout and indebted Sikh, he had embarked upon the ‘Shukrana Yatra’ with full religious fervour and gaiety after paying obeisance at Takht Sri Kesgarh Sahib. He said his heart is indebted to the Almighty for blessing him with the opportunity to serve humanity by enacting the Jaagat Jot Sri Guru Granth Sahib Satkar Amendment Act 2026, which stipulates harsher punishment for sacrilege.

CM Bhagwant Singh Mann said, “Our Government is fortunate to have been entrusted with the responsibility of passing this historic legislation, which will help put an end to sacrilege incidents in future. Sacrilege of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji was part of a deep-rooted conspiracy aimed at disturbing peace, amity, brotherhood and communal harmony in Punjab. The Act ensures that anyone found guilty of this unpardonable offence will not be spared and exemplary punishment will be awarded to perpetrators of this heinous crime,” he said.

He further said excuses of mental illness in beadbi cases will no longer work and even protectors and handlers of those involved in such crimes can face life imprisonment along with fines up to ₹50 lakh. “Those committing sacrilege in Punjab will no longer escape punishment,” CM Bhagwant Singh Mann said.

He expressed hope that the stringent legislation would act as a strong deterrent against sacrilege incidents in future and no one would dare commit such a crime again. Describing Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji as a father figure for every Sikh, the Chief Minister said it is the collective duty of society to ensure its sanctity and added that people from across the globe are expressing happiness and gratitude over the enactment of the historic law.

CM Bhagwant Singh Mann said the sole purpose of the ‘Shukrana Yatra’ is to thank the Almighty for giving him the strength and courage to pass this important legislation. Thanking people who gathered in huge numbers despite the scorching heat, he said he was grateful to the Almighty for this overwhelming affection from the public. “I am nobody to pass this Act. Guru Sahib himself has taken this service from me,” he said, adding that God entrusts such service only to those chosen by Him.

Calling himself a humble servant of Guru Sahib, he said this was a huge responsibility because people from all sections of society had been demanding such a law for a long time to check desecration incidents. The sole purpose behind the legislation was to heal the sentiments of people bruised due to the negligence of previous governments and there was no political motive behind it. People from across the world are happy over the historic legislation and he receives numerous calls daily from people thanking him for this initiative,” he added.

However, CM Bhagwant Singh Mann said some people are opposing the law tooth and nail because their political bosses are unhappy over it. “It is unfortunate that some people are indulging in politics even over this sensitive issue merely for vested interests because they know they may soon land behind bars for grave sins,” CM Bhagwant Singh Mann said.

Calling Bathinda the heart of the Malwa region, he said the massive response to the ‘Shukrana Yatra’ reflects the happiness and emotional connection of people with the enactment of the law. He said previous governments never bothered to enact such legislation because they never wanted perpetrators of sacrilege incidents to land behind bars.

Lashing out at the Akalis, CM Bhagwant Singh Mann said they were never sincere about enacting such a law during their tenure because their intentions were flawed from the beginning. He added that Akali leaders allowed sacrilege incidents to happen for political gains despite seeking votes in the name of Baba Nanak. “They sought votes in the name of Baba Nanak but insulted Baba Nanak’s Bani,” CM Bhagwant Singh Mann said.

He further said Akali leaders admitted their mistakes before Akal Takht Sahib but later denied them publicly. “Those who can lie before the Takht can never remain loyal to anyone,” he remarked, urging people to remain cautious of such leaders.

Taking a dig at opposition parties, CM Bhagwant Singh Mann accused previous Congress and Akali governments of promoting nepotism and corruption while ignoring welfare of common people. He asserted that the present Punjab Government is working honestly and transparently for every section of society. “The taxpayers’ money is now being spent judiciously on welfare works and is being returned to people through development, schools, hospitals and roads instead of corruption and commissions,” he said.

Highlighting achievements of the AAP Government, CM Bhagwant Singh Mann said more than 90 percent households in Punjab are receiving free electricity and over 65,000 youth have secured government jobs without corruption. He said roads and infrastructure are being upgraded across the state and several toll plazas have been shut down, saving nearly ₹70 lakh daily for people.

The Chief Minister said when the AAP Government assumed office in 2022, only 21 percent canal water was being used for irrigation in the state. “Today nearly 68 percent of canal water is being utilised for irrigation and this figure will rise to 85 percent by the upcoming paddy season,” CM Bhagwant Singh Mann said.

He said the Punjab Government has laid nearly 14,000 kilometres of pipelines and watercourses across the state to facilitate farmers in every corner of Punjab. The Chief Minister said 21,000 cusecs of water have been released through these pipelines and watercourses to cater to irrigation needs of farmers. “This water released by the Punjab Government is equal to the supply of two Bhakra canals,” CM Bhagwant Singh Mann said, adding that recharge points have also been created in canals and rivers due to which groundwater levels have increased by two to four metres in several areas. “This decision has been taken to safeguard future generations because Punjab’s identity and existence are intrinsically linked with water,” he said.

CM Bhagwant Singh Mann said the Punjab Government has launched the Mawan Dheeyan Satkar Yojna under which every woman in Punjab will receive ₹1,000 per month, while women belonging to Scheduled Castes will receive ₹1,500 per month. He said the amount will be directly transferred into bank accounts and even women already receiving social security pensions will be eligible for the scheme. “Nearly 97 percent women in Punjab are expected to benefit from the scheme and the Punjab Government has allocated ₹9,300 crore for it in the Budget,” he added.

The Chief Minister further said the AAP Government has launched the Mukh Mantri Sehat Yojna under which health cards are being issued to all 65 lakh families in Punjab. CM Bhagwant Singh Mann said every family is entitled to free treatment up to ₹10 lakh and over 30 lakh beneficiaries have already received health cards. He said nearly 1.65 lakh people have already availed free treatment under the scheme and urged people to maximise benefits of the health cards.

CM Bhagwant Singh Mann said he is fulfilling every responsibility entrusted to him by people in 2022 with complete honesty and every promise made to Punjabis is being delivered upon. He said Aam Aadmi Clinics have been opened across Punjab where quality treatment facilities are being provided free of cost, government schools are being transformed, hospitals upgraded and free electricity provided to households and farmers.

CM Bhagwant Singh Mann reiterated, “Our Government has laid nearly 14,000 kilometres of pipelines and revived watercourses to ensure that water reaches every field of Punjab.”

Sharing a few snippets on X, CM Bhagwant Singh Mann stated: “Today, on the third day of the ‘Shukrana Yatra’, I was blessed with the opportunity to pay obeisance at the sacred land of martyrs and Gurus, Takht Sri Damdama Sahib. Despite it being a working day and the extreme heat, the immense love, blessings and affection you showered upon me by gathering in such huge numbers has left me deeply grateful.”

“It is only through the boundless blessings of Guru Sahib that we were able to enact the stringent Jaagat Jot Sri Guru Granth Sahib Satkar Act to prevent beadbi incidents. Under this law, no accused will now be able to escape punishment by taking the excuse of ‘mental imbalance’; strict action will also be taken against their protectors and handlers. Previous governments only looted Punjab for their families and indulged in divisive politics, whereas Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji belongs to the entirety of humanity and gives us the message of Sarbat da Bhala,” he added

“Those who betrayed Punjabis have today abandoned the battlefield and fled. Your “Lok Sewak” and your government remain firmly committed, day and night, to Punjab’s progress, communal harmony and protection of Guru Maharaj’s maryada,” the post concluded.

CM Bhagwant Singh Mann Pays Obeisance at Gurdwara Mastuana Sahib during Shukrana Yatra

CM Bhagwant Mann

Punjab CM Bhagwant Singh Mann on Friday paid obeisance at Gurdwara Sri Mastuana Sahib and prayed for the peace, progress and prosperity of Punjab and its people. During his ‘Shukrana Yatra’, the Chief Minister sought blessings for the well-being of citizens and reiterated the government’s commitment to serving the state with honesty and dedication.

Earlier during his ‘Shukrana Yatra’, the Punjab CM announced that the government has completed all formalities related to the construction of the proposed Medical College at Mastuana Sahib and that a Central Government team is expected to visit soon for inspection of the identified land for the project.

Addressing a gathering, Punjab CM Bhagwant Singh Mann said, “This development marks a major step towards establishing a world class institution for medical education and healthcare services in the region. The proposed medical college will significantly strengthen healthcare infrastructure in Punjab while creating quality educational opportunities for students aspiring to pursue medical studies within the state. The institution will also help improve access to specialist healthcare services for people living in rural and semi urban areas.”

Speaking about the project approvals, he added, “The Punjab Government has already cleared all procedural and administrative requirements for the project and the visit of the Central team will pave the way for further approvals and commencement of construction work. Our focus is to ensure that people get quality healthcare facilities closer to their homes while students receive better opportunities for higher education in Punjab itself. The state government is committed to establishing modern institutions equipped with advanced healthcare facilities and quality educational infrastructure.”

He stated, “As a devout and indebted Sikh, I embarked upon the ‘Shukrana Yatra’ with full religious fervour and gaiety after paying obeisance at Takht Sri Kesgarh Sahib. My heart is indebted to the Guru Sahib for blessing me with the opportunity to serve humanity by enacting the Jaagat Jot Sri Guru Granth Sahib Satkar Amendment Act 2026, which stipulates harsher punishment for ‘beadbi.’”

Calling the legislation historic, CM Bhagwant Singh Mann continued, “Our Government is fortunate to have been entrusted with the responsibility of passing this historic legislation, which will help put an end to ‘beadbi’ incidents in future. ‘Beadbi’ of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji was part of a deep rooted conspiracy aimed at disturbing peace, amity, brotherhood and communal harmony in Punjab. The Act ensures that anyone found guilty of this unpardonable offence will not be spared and exemplary punishment will be awarded to perpetrators of this heinous crime.”

Speaking about strict provisions in the law, he added, “Excuses of mental illness in ‘beadbi’ cases will no longer work and even protectors and handlers of those involved in such crimes can face life imprisonment along with fines up to ₹50 lakh. Those committing ‘beadbi’ in Punjab will no longer escape punishment. This stringent law will act as a strong deterrent against ‘beadbi’ incidents in future and no one will dare commit such a crime again. Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji is like a father figure for every Sikh and it is the collective duty of society to ensure its sanctity. People from across the globe are expressing happiness and gratitude over the enactment of this historic law.”

Explaining the purpose behind the yatra, CM Bhagwant Singh Mann said, “The sole purpose of the ‘Shukrana Yatra’ is to thank Guru Sahib for giving me the strength and courage to pass this important legislation. I am grateful to the Almighty for the overwhelming affection shown by people who gathered in huge numbers despite the scorching heat. I am nobody to pass this Act. Guru Sahib himself has taken this service from me. God entrusts such service only to those chosen by him.”

Calling himself a humble servant of Guru Sahib, he stated, “This was a huge responsibility because people from all sections of society had been demanding such a law for a long time to check desecration incidents. Targeting critics of the legislation, CM Bhagwant Singh Mann said, “Some people are opposing the law tooth and nail because their political bosses are unhappy over it. Calling Bathinda the heart of the Malwa region, he added, “The massive response to the ‘Shukrana Yatra’ reflects the happiness and emotional connection of people with the enactment of the law. AAP MP Dr Raj Kumar Chabbewal Raises Alarm Over Suspicious Call Allegedly Made in Amit Shah’s Name

Dr Raj Kumar Chabbewal

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MP from Hoshiarpur Raj Kumar Chabbewal on Thursday raised serious concerns over a suspicious phone call allegedly made in the name of Union Home Minister Amit Shah and demanded a thorough investigation into the matter. Dr. Chabbewal termed the incident highly questionable and said such tactics reflect the dirty and desperate politics being played against AAP leaders.

In a statement, Dr. Raj Kumar Chabbewal said that since it was his birthday, he had been receiving numerous calls from morning onwards. During this period, he received a peculiar phone call around 8:45 AM. He said the caller initially asked him “Is it AAP MP Dr. Raj Kumar Chabbewal ji speaking?” to which he responded by confirming his identity.

Dr. Chabbewal stated that the caller then said, “Union Home Minister Amit Shah ji wants to speak to you.” He replied that the call could be connected. Shortly after, another voice came on the line wishing him warmly on his birthday and congratulating him. The caller then reportedly asked about his whereabouts. When Dr. Chabbewal informed him that he was in Hoshiarpur in his Lok Sabha constituency, the caller told him, “Whenever you come to Delhi, make sure you meet me.”

Dr. Chabbewal said that although the conversation appeared normal on the surface, several aspects of the call immediately raised suspicion in his mind. He pointed out that calls from the Union Home Ministry generally come from official landline numbers, whereas this call came from an unusual number. He further stated that even the voice claiming to be that of the Home Minister did not sound authentic to him.

“From the very beginning, something about the call felt unusual and suspicious. The voice did not sound genuine and the entire sequence appeared questionable,” Dr. Chabbewal said.

The AAP MP said that considering the seriousness of the matter, he has formally approached the SSP Hoshiarpur and requested a detailed investigation into the call. He demanded that the origin, intent and individuals behind the suspicious communication be identified.

Dr. Chabbewal said such incidents expose the kind of backdoor politics and pressure tactics being used against opposition leaders in the country. He stated that AAP leaders will neither be intimidated nor trapped by such dubious methods.

He further said that if anyone is trying to misuse the name of constitutional authorities or senior leaders for political maneuvering, then it is an extremely serious issue and must be investigated.

Cashless Treatment Under Bhagwant Mann Govt’s Mukh Mantri Sehat Yojana Helps Save Over 5,000 Heart Patients Across Punjab

CM Mann

For a heart under attack, every second counts. A delay of minutes can mean the difference between life and death. In Punjab, that race against time is increasingly being won, as faster angioplasty procedures, enabled by the Bhagwant Mann Government’s Mukh Mantri Sehat Yojana (MMSY), are helping patients receive immediate, cashless cardiac care when it matters most.

A heart attack triggers medical urgency and financial anxiety. Families struggle to arrange funds, complete paperwork, and secure hospital clearances, often losing precious time in the process. Today, that reality is changing. With the Sehat Card system, patients arriving at government and empanelled private hospitals are being fast-tracked for diagnosis and emergency angioplasty without upfront payment delays. The shift is proving critical in improving survival outcomes, particularly during the “golden hour”: the first 60 minutes after a cardiac event when timely intervention is most effective.

Globally, cardiovascular diseases remain the leading cause of death, with the World Health Organization estimating nearly 17.9 million deaths each year. A significant number of these fatalities are linked to delayed treatment, something Punjab’s evolving healthcare system is now actively addressing.

Doctors across the state report a concerning rise in heart-related cases, not just among the elderly but increasingly among younger patients. Sedentary lifestyles, stress, unhealthy diets, and rising diabetes levels are key contributors. Yet alongside this trend, access to emergency cardiac care is improving.

According to the State Health Agency (SHA), a total of 5,054 cardiac procedures have been carried out under the Sehat Yojana in recent months. This includes 5,000 PTCA (Percutaneous Transluminal Coronary Angioplasty) procedures, inclusive of diagnostic angiograms, and 54 cases of peripheral angioplasty.

The total value of these treatments stands at approximately ₹496 million, with PTCA procedures accounting for the overwhelming share of both cases and expenditure.

Punjab Health Minister Dr Balbir Singh said the impact is already visible. “More patients are surviving what was once almost certainly fatal. In those critical moments, speed, supported by systems like the Sehat Card, is becoming the state’s strongest lifesaver,” he said.

Cardiology units in hospitals are adapting rapidly. Emergency protocols are being streamlined to ensure that suspected heart attack patients are quickly assessed and moved to intervention without administrative bottlenecks.

Dr Saurabh Sharma, Associate Professor and Head of Department of Cardiology, GMC and Rajindra Hospital, Patiala, says, “The Sehat Card is helping people get timely treatment. The reduction in financial hesitation is a key factor. Previously, uncertainty over treatment costs often caused families to delay consent for procedures.” Dr Sharma adds that with cashless coverage, that barrier has largely been addressed.

The transformation is significant across districts. Earlier, patients often faced dangerous delays due to referrals to larger city hospitals. Now, with wider empanelment and better-equipped facilities under the scheme, more centres are capable of initiating angioplasty without transferring patients over long distances.
