Sanjeev Arora

Punjab Cabinet Minister for Industries & Commerce, Investment Promotion, Power & Local Government Sanjeev Arora shared that Jogindra Group has announced a strategic expansion plan worth ₹1,100 crore, giving a major boost to Punjab’s industrial growth and green energy transition. He stated that this investment reflects the growing confidence of industry in Punjab’s progressive policies and business-friendly environment.

Sanjeev Arora said that this investment reflects the growing confidence of industry in Punjab’s progressive policies and business-friendly environment. He detailed that the expansion includes ₹700 crore investment in the steel sector, primarily through Jogindra Castings and Vardhman Adarsh, along with ₹400 crore investment in renewable energy through Jogindra Green India.

Highlighting the scale of impact, Sanjeev Arora noted, “The Jogindra Group’s turnover is projected to increase from ₹3,000 crore to ₹5,000 crore, while employee strength will rise from 1,800 to 3,000, creating significant employment opportunities. He added that renewable energy capacity will expand from 37 MW to 120 MW.”

Providing background, he stated that established in 1992, Jogindra Group is a leading industrial conglomerate in North India with a strong presence in steel manufacturing and a growing footprint in renewable energy. “The Group is promoted by CMD Adarsh Garg along with Directors Sanjay Gupta and Nimit Gupta,” he added.

Emphasising the regional impact, Sanjeev Arora said that Mandi Gobindgarh has always been the backbone of Punjab’s steel industry. “Today, under Bhagwant Mann Government, it is regaining its strength with new investments, modernization, and a strong push towards cleaner and more efficient production. The expansion by Jogindra Group is a clear sign that Gobindgarh is once again becoming a growth engine for Punjab’s industrial economy.”

He further stated that Punjab continues to emerge as a preferred destination for both manufacturing and green energy investments, and that this ₹1,100 crore investment will strengthen the industrial base, create substantial employment opportunities and promote sustainable growth.

Reiterating the Bhagwant Mann Government’s commitment, the Minister said, “The AAP Government remains focused on providing a conducive ecosystem for industry, ensuring ease of doing business and encouraging environmentally responsible investments across Punjab.”

19,000 ASHA Workers Join Mukh Mantri Sehat Yojna’s Statewide Sehat Card Enrolment Drive

Dr Balbir Singh

Strengthening last-mile healthcare access, the Punjab Government under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann has activated its extensive ASHA (Accredited Social Health Activity) workers’ network to accelerate enrolments under the Mukh Mantri Sehat Yojna (MMSY), with over 19,000 ASHA workers and 900 facilitators now driving registrations across villages in Punjab.

ASHA workers are playing a critical role in expanding the reach of the scheme at the grassroots level. Each worker is assigned a population of nearly 1,000 residents, covering around 250 households, where they are conducting door-to-door outreach, creating awareness about the scheme, and accompanying families for enrolment at Seva Kendras and Common Service Centres. This approach ensures that awareness reaches households directly, especially in rural areas, while also guiding families through the enrolment process so that registration and verification are completed smoothly without delays or confusion.

The impact of this sustained on-ground mobilisation is already visible, with ASHA-led efforts contributing to nearly 10 lakh enrolments in the past 20 days alone, significantly strengthening the pace at which residents across Punjab are being brought under health coverage. To sustain this momentum, the ASHA-led model is supported through a structured incentive system, with workers being incentivised for successful enrolments, ensuring accountability and consistent outreach across regions.

Emphasising the intent behind the initiative, Punjab Minister of Health and Family Welfare Dr. Balbir Singh said, “CM Bhagwant Singh Mann has made it clear that in Punjab, no family should have to suffer because they cannot afford treatment. Our ASHA workers are taking this promise to people’s homes, ensuring that every family is aware and able to enrol. This is not just a scheme on paper, it is a guarantee we are delivering directly to people, one household at a time.”

The scale of the Mukh Mantri Sehat Yojna continues to expand across Punjab, with nearly 50,000 residents enrolling every day and over 35 lakh Sehat Cards already issued. Districts such as Ludhiana, Patiala, and Jalandhar continue to lead enrolments at scale, reflecting strong participation across both urban and rural areas.

Beyond enrollment, the scheme is actively delivering healthcare outcomes. So far, over 2 lakh treatments worth ₹300 crore have been carried out, including more than 40,000 surgical procedures across cardiac care, dialysis, orthopaedics, cancer treatment, and emergency interventions. This is backed by a ₹2,000 crore allocation in the Punjab Budget 2026-27 to further expand the scheme’s reach.

With camps, centres, and door-to-door mobilisation working together, the Punjab Government continues to encourage residents to enrol for their Sehat Card and avail cashless treatment benefits under the Mukh Mantri Sehat Yojna.

Punjab to conduct first-ever caste socio-economic survey to ensure equitable development: CM Bhagwant Singh Mann

CM Mann

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann on Wednesday presented a comprehensive four-year report card of the Rural Development and Panchayat Department as part of the Punjab Government’s ongoing “Shandaar Char Saal Bhagwant Mann de naal” series, highlighting how sustained policy interventions have transformed village infrastructure, strengthened grassroots governance, and expanded employment opportunities across rural Punjab.

Positioning rural development as a central pillar of inclusive growth, the Chief Minister outlined key initiatives ranging from the launch of Punjab’s first-ever caste socio-economic survey to large-scale infrastructure creation, revenue generation through transparent land management, and youth-focused development programmes.

Emphasising that the caste socio-economic survey, beginning April 1, will play a crucial role in ensuring equitable and targeted policymaking, the Chief Minister said the exercise aims to assess the living standards of all communities while maintaining complete confidentiality. He noted that the rural development report card is part of a wider governance framework under which the AAP government is presenting sector-wise performance across education, healthcare, irrigation, agriculture, and other key areas, underlining its focus on accountability, transparency, and measurable outcomes.

Presenting the report card of the Rural Development and Panchayat Department, Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann said, “Holistic development of the villages has taken place in the last four years involving massive construction work, cleaning of ponds as the state has generated money by removing the illegal encroachments from the government lands and through other means.”

The Chief Minister said, “Due to strenuous efforts of the state there has been an increase in consensus for Panchayat Elections. There are 13,236 Panchayats in Punjab, the polls for which were conducted in 2024, with a large number of Panchayats elected unanimously. In 2018, around 1,870 Panchayats were elected unanimously but in 2024, as many as 2,970 Panchayats were elected unanimously.”

CM Bhagwant Singh Mann said, “This is an increase of 1,100 Panchayats thereby strengthening communal harmony in villages and ensuring their holistic development.”

He said, “The Punjab government has enhanced the honorarium of Sarpanchs from ₹1,200 to ₹2,000 per month.”

CM Bhagwant Singh Mann said, “Under the 15th Finance Commission for Rural Development ₹2,367.64 crore was spent on rural development in 2025–26 which was double as compared to 2024–25. During 2017-22 ₹1,883 crore was spent on the development of villages in five years whereas the state government has spent ₹3,847 crore in the last four years for this noble cause.”

The Chief Minister said, “₹1,030.94 crore was spent on Panchayat buildings, libraries, Anganwadi centers, playgrounds, streets, drains, and other development works.”

CM Bhagwant Singh Mann said, “₹1,336.70 crore was spent on drinking water, water supply, sanitation, solid waste management, and essential services, and the funds were released through Zila Parishads, Panchayat Samitis, and Panchayats.”

He added, “The Punjab government has increased income from leasing Shamlat Land in the villages. Illegal encroachments on Panchayat lands were removed thereby increasing the revenue of the state. Over four years the state government has generated ₹1,842.78 crore by leasing Shamlat land.”

CM Bhagwant Singh Mann noted, “In 2025–26, revenue increased by ₹50.75 crore as compared to the previous year. Around 1.35 lakh acres were given on lease which generated ₹520.54 crore, as compared to ₹469.79 crore in 2024–25.”

CM Bhagwant Singh Mann stated, “In order to channelize the unbounded energy of the youth in a positive direction around 3,000 rural playgrounds are being developed and ₹1,166 crore is being spent on it. These grounds will be spread over 6,500 acres for which 3,148 locations have been identified.”

He stated, “Work has already started on 2,400 grounds and most of them will be completed by June this year with facilities like volleyball courts, football fields, children’s play equipment, and seating arrangements.”

He stated, “For the first time in the history of the state construction of Panchayat Buildings has been undertaken. 500 modern Panchayat buildings are being constructed in the second phase with a ₹125 crore budget.”

CM Bhagwant Singh Mann said, “₹25 lakh has been allocated per building and 373 buildings have been already completed in the first phase.”

CM Bhagwant Singh Mann said, “The Punjab government has also started the process to construct 251 libraries in the villages out of which 231 have been already completed. The aim is to connect villagers with literature and help youth prepare for competitive exams.”

CM Bhagwant Singh Mann said, “Talking about the MGNREGA Scheme, from 2017–2022, only ₹4,708 crore was spent whereas from 2022 till now, ₹5,146 crore has been spent. 8.96 lakh people have received employment and 2.40 crore man days of employment has been generated.”

The Chief Minister noted, “In 2025–26, around 63,357 new job cards were issued, which included 2,480 for persons with disabilities.”

CM Bhagwant Singh Mann said, “Punjab vehemently opposes the arbitrary and illogical amendments in the MGNREGA scheme. The Punjab Legislative Assembly had opposed changes made by the central government that could reduce rural employment. Such restriction based schemes are unwarranted and undesirable as they pose a serious question mark on the intent of such schemes.”

CM Bhagwant Singh Mann said, “The Punjab government has taken path breaking initiatives for providing housing facilities for rural families. This year approval was granted for 76,000 houses, including 30,000 flood-affected families.”

CM Bhagwant Singh Mann said, “From 2016–2022, only 39,000 houses were built in the state whereas this year the state government has set a target to construct one lakh houses for the poor strata of society.”

He stated, “The Punjab government has embarked a major scheme for cleaning of 17,080 village ponds. 13,414 ponds have been de-watered and desilting has been completed in 4,706 ponds for which ₹235 crore is being spent.”

CM Bhagwant Singh Mann said, “The Caste and Socio-Economic Survey is being conducted for the first time in Punjab’s history. The aim is to assess living standards of all castes and sub-castes to frame policies for their well being accordingly. A budget of ₹250 crore has been kept for this purpose in which 28,000 enumerators will be deployed and each will receive ₹62,500 honorarium.”

He stated, “In the war against drugs the entire villages of the state have extended their support in this crusade. I profusely thank the Panchayats and volunteers for actively supporting anti-drug efforts as already 1.25 lakh members have joined the campaign.”

CM Bhagwant Singh Mann said, “12,000 Village Defence Committees have been formed and the volunteers are acting as ‘village guardians’. Many drug traffickers are arrested based on their inputs.”

The Chief Minister asserted, “Under Punjab State Rural Livelihood Mission 100 top women entrepreneurs from 23 districts have been awarded ₹25,000 each along with certificates and mementos.”

He said, “11,700 women have been honored across 117 constituencies and 2,300 women have been felicitated at district-level events. Under the mission, 58,303 Self-Help Groups have been formed and 5.89 lakh families have been connected, with ₹147 crore financial support provided to them.”

The Chief Minister noted, “As a part of Women Empowerment Initiatives a new scheme has been launched to connect women with dairy farming. Under the scheme 1,100 milk cooperative societies have been registered and ₹18 crore interest-free loans have been provided to women.”

CM Bhagwant Singh Mann said, “These societies are supplying 1 lakh litres of milk daily to Milkfed. Sakhi Shakti Melas were organized across Punjab in which more than 1,500 women participated and products worth ₹9 crore produced by them were sold.”

He said, “For the first time in history state blocks were reorganized as per Assembly constituencies to improve coordination. Village Development Officers and Panchayat Secretaries have been merged into state cadre. State cadres for 3,327 Panchayat Development Secretaries have been created in the state to improve efficiency.”

Replying to a query, CM Bhagwant Singh Mann said, “The Union government is meting out step motherly treatment with Punjab. Grants under RDF, GST, NHM and others for the state have been unduly stopped by the centre as they are envious of the state. The sole reason is that Punjab does not vote for BJP due to which the Union government indulges in this grave injustice with Punjab.”

The Chief Minister statedd, “The Disaster Management Fund allotted by the centre is too meager and needs to be revised in the larger interest of the masses. The state will oppose this discrimination tooth and nail and no stone will be left unturned for getting the legitimate share of the state. This issue will be taken both legally and administratively at every platform.”

Replying to another query, CM Bhagwant Singh Mann said, “It is surprising that Punjab Congress leaders are maintaining stoic silence over the imposition of entry tax by the Himachal government led by their party, which concerns a large section of Punjabis.”

CM Bhagwant Singh Mann said, “On one hand the state government is abolishing the toll tax and giving reprieve to the common man whereas on the other hand these people are levying undue taxes on people.”

CM Bhagwant Singh Mann said, “The state government is committed to smooth and hassle free procurement and lifting of the wheat crop and elaborate arrangements have already been made. Any arm twisting or blackmailing tactics aimed at jeopardizing the smooth procurement will not be tolerated and exemplary action will be taken against such forces.”

CM Bhagwant Singh Mann said, “For the first time in the history of Punjab an intelligent and smart government is functioning unlike the earlier ones which looted the people.”

He said, “The Punjab government is exploring the feasibility of putting high tension wires passing through farmers’ land underground and the strategy is being chalked out. This will be a reprieve to the farmers as these wires pose a huge risk to them and their crops.”

On the occasion, Rural Development and Panchayat Minister Tarunpreet Singh Sond and others were also present.

Gurugram News: The Haryana Government is all set to increase circles rates in Gurugram with effect from April 1, 2026. District Revenue Officer Vijay Yadav remarked that proposals received from sub-tehsils and tehsils have been uploaded on the official website of the district to allow public feedback and ensure transparency.

The proposed collector rates (circle rates) for the year 2026–27 would be applicable to properties in Gurugram from April 1.

Gurugram News: Opportunity for Public Suggestions

Citizens of Gurugram are being encouraged to submit their suggestions by visiting the concerned tehsil office or by submitting them at the DC Office’s HRA Department. Citizens are also allowed to submit their objections via email.

Circle Rates May Increase By Up To 75 Percent

In several prime commercial and residential areas of Gurgaon, an increase of up to 75 percent in circle rates has been proposed in terms of collector rates (circle rates) for the year 2026–27.

Premium and Older Areas to Be Most Affected

In luxury zones such as DLF Phase-5, a hike of up to 75 percent has been proposed. Villages such as Wazirabad, Garhi Harsaru and Sikanderpur Ghosi are also likely to witness similar increases.

Older commercial hubs such as Sector 14 and Sadar Bazar are also likely to witness massive circle rate hikes. This clearly suggests that circle rates in the district would be applicable not only to posh areas but also on traditional and densely populated regions in the district.

Dwarka Expressway Emerges As A New Hotspot

Areas around the Dwarka Expressway are witnessing rapid development and an increase of 30 to 45 percent in circle rates has been proposed there. However, no changes have been proposed as of now in the circle rates of agricultural land, which means that the district’s farmers would not be impacted.

Ayurvedic Skin Remedy: Skin problems like itching, acne, fungal infections, and eczema are more than just superficial issues. They often reflect internal imbalances in your body. In a video on his YouTube channel Healthy Hamesha, Delhi-based doctor Saleem Zaidi explains that many skin issues persist because of toxins in the blood, liver overload and inflammation caused by imbalances in pitta and kapha.  He says that there’s a natural ayurvedic solution that targets the root cause rather than just treating symptoms.

This ayurvedic skin remedy uses a simple decoction of four powerful herbs that can help reduce inflammation, balance immunity, and detoxify your blood, giving your skin a healthy glow from within.

4 Powerful Herbs Behind This Ayurvedic Skin Remedy

Doctor Zaidi recommends a combination of four herbs that have been used in Ayurveda for centuries:

  1. Neem – Known as “sarv-rog nivarani,” neem is highly effective for fungal infections, acne, allergies, and chronic itching. Its antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties help combat skin problems at the source.
  2. Giloy – This herb works as an immune modulator. It helps reduce eczema flare-ups and controls allergic reactions by balancing the immune response.
  3. Manjistha – Considered the best blood purifier in Ayurveda, Manjistha detoxifies the blood, improves lymphatic drainage, and is excellent for pigmentation issues, acne scars, and chronic itching. Its antioxidant properties support overall skin health.
  4. Khadira – Khadira has natural astringent and antifungal properties. It helps manage itching, eczema discharge, and recurring fungal infections effectively.

How To Prepare And Use It

Follow these steps to make the decoction:

  • Take 2 cups of water and add 7 fresh neem leaves (or ½ tsp neem leaf powder if fresh leaves aren’t available).
  • Add ½ tsp giloy powder or 1-inch crushed giloy stem.
  • Mix in ½ tsp Manjistha powder and ½ tsp Khadira powder.
  • Boil gently until water reduces from 2 cups to 1 cup, then strain.
  • Drink warm twice a day: once an hour after breakfast and again around 4–5 pm.
  • Continue for at least 21 days; maximum usage can extend to 3 months.

Precautions: Pregnant women and people with serious autoimmune conditions should consult a doctor before use. For severe infections with pus or high fever, seek medical help immediately.

Expected Results:

  • Relief from itching in 3–5 days
  • Noticeable improvement in acne in 2 weeks
  • Eczema improvement in 3–4 weeks

This ayurvedic skin remedy is a natural support system that purifies the body from within. For best results, combine it with neem leaf water for bathing, avoid sugar, refined flour, very spicy foods and drink 2.5–3 litres of water daily.

Dragon Fruit Benefits: Is This Tasty Fruit The Secret Weapon Against 10 Deadly Diseases? Doctor Reveals

Dragon Fruit Benefits

Dragon fruit, also known as pitaya, is a vibrant tropical fruit that looks as striking as it tastes. It has a bright pink or yellow skin and soft, speckled flesh inside. Many people enjoy it simply for its mild sweetness and refreshing texture. But beyond its good taste, this fruit offers a range of nutritional advantages that are drawing attention from health experts.

Recently, Dr Tarang Krishna shared a video on Instagram about its many benefits. According to him, dragon fruit could help protect against over ten different diseases. In this article, we explore the dragon fruit benefits and explain why this simple fruit could be great for your health.

What Makes Dragon Fruit Special?

Dragon fruit benefits go far beyond flavour. It is packed with nutrients and antioxidants that help your body work better. Doctor Krishna explained that this fruit does more than aid digestion. He said it can also support heart health, manage blood sugar, reduce inflammation and boost overall wellness.

Here are some key points he shared:

  • Heart protection: Dragon fruit may help maintain healthy cholesterol levels.
  • Blood sugar control: It has a low glycemic index, so it does not spike blood sugar.
  • Reducing inflammation: It helps lower chronic inflammation, which is linked to many diseases.
  • Boosting immunity: It supports the body’s natural defences.
  • Gut health: Eating it before meals can nurture good gut bacteria.

Dragon fruit contains beta-cryptoxanthin, a powerful antioxidant that reduces oxidative stress. This process is important because oxidative stress can lead to many health problems over time, including cancer, heart disease, and age-related conditions. In simple terms, antioxidants help protect your cells from damage.

Eating dragon fruit can also help your body repair itself. Everyday activities and environmental factors can strain your immune system. The nutrients in dragon fruit help restore balance and keep your systems strong.

More Science Behind Dragon Fruit Benefits

In addition to what Doctor Krishna shared, online research supports many of the claims about dragon fruit benefits.

As per studies cited on Healthline, dragon fruit is rich in:

  • Vitamin C: Important for immunity and skin health.
  • Fibre: Helps with digestion and maintaining a healthy weight.
  • Magnesium: Supports hundreds of chemical reactions in the body, including muscle and nerve function.
  • Healthy fats: Especially in the seeds, which may benefit heart health.

Dragon fruit also contains prebiotics, which feed the healthy bacteria in your gut. A healthy gut flora is linked to better digestion, stronger immunity, and even improved mood.

This fruit’s low glycemic index makes it suitable for people who watch their blood sugar. It helps slow down sugar absorption, which benefits those managing diabetes.

Dragon fruit benefits go well beyond taste. It combines nutrition, antioxidants, and digestive support in one colourful package. While it is not a cure-all, eating dragon fruit regularly may help reduce the risk of several chronic diseases and support overall health.

So next time you see this eye-catching fruit, don’t just enjoy its flavour—think of it as a tasty step toward better health.

Namo Bharat Rapid Rail To Panipat-Karnal Approved! Jobs Boom For Murthal, Sonipat Residents On Cards

Namo Bharat

Namo Bharat: The Haryana Government has approved the Delhi-Panipat-Karnal Namo Bharat RRTS Corridor in a significant boost to economic development and regional connectivity. This development marks another glorious development in the country’s evolving high-speed regional transit infrastructure with far-reaching implications for local economies, businesses and commuters, especially in Murthal, Sonipat and Samalkha.

What Is the Namo Bharat Rapid Rail?

A part of India’s Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS), the Namo Bharat Rapid Rail is designed to connect major urban nodes with high-speed, high-frequency rail services.

Unlike traditional suburban metro or rail systems, the RRTS is built for longer distances, offering speeds of up to 160 kilometres per hour with modern amenities and efficient scheduling.

Benefits Of Namo Bharat

The project aims to enhance access to employment hubs, decongest urban centres by promoting satellite development, reduce travel time to Delhi NCR and Haryana significantly and encourage industrial expansion and investment.

Murthal, Samalkha and Sonipat: Emerging Growth Corridors

The real story of this expansion lies in its ripple effects on intermediate regions such as Samalkha, Murthal and Sonipat. These areas, already known for their proximity to Delhi NCR and existing highway connectivity, are poised for accelerated development.

For instance, Murthal that is famous for its food industry and hospitality could evolve into a service and commercial hub. Improved transportation could increase footfall, tourism and demand for restaurants, dhabas, hotels and retail outlets. On the other hand, Sonipat has been steadily developing as an industrial and educational centre. With industrial estates, institutions and planned townships, the city is well-positioned to capitalize on enhanced connectivity.

One of the most anticipated outcomes of the project is the surge in employment opportunities. It could create thousands of direct and indirect jobs in the short and long term, including roles in logistics, materials supply, engineering, labour and project management. It could also create several vacancies in train operations, maintenance, security, station maintenance and customer service.

Also, it could open new job openings in the segments of transportation, retail, hospitality, real estate development and small and medium enterprises. For residents of Murthal and Sonipat, this could translate into both formal employment and entrepreneurial opportunities.

Diabetes: Best Vitamin To Reverse Insulin Resistance! Gut Coach Shares Invaluable Tips

Diabetes

Diabetes: For millions of people across the world, Diabetes, particularly type 2 diabetes, is a serious health challenge that is primarily driven by modern lifestyle patterns. At the core of this severe and debilitating health condition lies insulin resistance, which is a metabolic dysfunction where the body cells fail to respond effectively to insulin. This results in elevated blood sugar levels. Several studies have demonstrated that Vitamin B1 or Thiamine could help reverse insulin resistance.

Diabetes-Understanding Insulin Resistance

Insulin is a hormone that allows glucose to enter body cells to be used for energy. In individuals with insulin resistance, body cells become less responsive to the signals of insulin. This forces the pancreas to produce more insulin to compensate. Over time, this could result in chronically high levels of blood sugar and eventually Type 2 diabetes.

The Role of Vitamin B1 in Metabolism

A water-soluble vitamin, Thiamine or Vitamin B1 is essential for carbohydrate metabolism. This vitamin plays a crucial role when it comes to converting glucose into energy by acting as a cofactor for enzymes that are involved in mitochondrial function.

In other words, the lack of vitamin B1 could make the body struggle when it comes to processing carbs. Moreover, this could result in a buildup of glucose and other metabolic byproducts, contributing to insulin resistance and oxidative stress.

Here’s how vitamin B1 may support insulin sensitivity:

  • Vitamin B1 supports insulin sensitivity by enhancing the activity of enzymes that helps in metabolizing glucose, reducing the accumulation of blood sugar.
  • It neutralizes oxidative damage and stress to protect cells and improve metabolic function.
  • Thiamine could help maintain healthy pancreatic cells that are essential for insulin production.
  • Vitamin B1 helps in reducing the formation of advanced glycation end products (AGEs) that interfere with insulin signalling and contribute to complications of diabetes.

Tips & Precautions

  • Consume Thiamine-rich foods such as legumes (beans, lentils), nuts, seeds, lean meat, eggs and whole grains (oats, brown rice).
  • Limit the intake of excess sugar, ultra-processed foods and artificial additives that could disrupt the microbiome and worsen insulin resistance.
  • Include fibre-rich foods such as fresh and seasonal fruits and vegetables along with fermented foods such as traditional pickles and yogurt.

Often known as the “silent killer”, it could progress without noticeable symptoms while quietly increasing the risks of heart disease, kidney dysfunction and stroke. Surprisingly, elaichi (cardamom) could help you with blood pressure management in countless ways.

In a recently shared video on Instagram, leading nutrigenomics advisor shares how elaichi could help you with BP management.

Understanding Blood Pressure And Its Triggers

Blood Pressure refers to the exerted force of circulating blood in the body against the walls of arteries. It is influenced by many factors, including but not limited to genetics, physical activity, metabolic health and stress levels. While obesity, sodium intake and sedentary lifestyles are well-known culprits, emerging research in the world of nutrigenomics highlights how individual genetic variations affect how we respond to specific nutrients.

What Makes Cardamom Special?

A culinary spice, cardamom includes a variety of bioactive compounds such as flavonoids that are known for their powerful anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. They also include essential oils like cineole and terpinene that could positively influence vascular function. Moreover, it includes magnesium and potassium, both important for blood pressure regulation.

From a nutrigenomics standpoint, these compounds interact with genes that are involved in inflammation, oxidative stress and vascular tone, which are key pathways in hypertension development.

  • Cardamom promotes increased production of urine in the body that helps in eliminating excess sodium and fluid.
  • Elaichi helps in relaxing blood vessels, improving blood circulation.
  • The antioxidants present in elaichi help in neutralizing free radicals that in turn protect endothelial function.

How To Use Cardamom For Blood Pressure Support?

  • Add a few crushed cardamom pods to herbal tea or warm water.
  • Use in traditional preparations such as cardamom milk for digestion and relaxation.
  • You could even include elaichi in rice dishes, curries or lentils
  • You may also sprinkle elaichi into oatmeal or smoothies.

Char Dham Yatra 2026: Green Card System Introduced for Safer Pilgrimage Travel

Char Dham Yatra 2024

In a major step towards ensuring safer and more organised travel during the annual Char Dham Yatra, the Uttarakhand government has introduced a mandatory “Green Card system” for commercial passenger vehicles. The initiative is aimed at strengthening road safety, improving vehicle monitoring, and ensuring a smoother यात्रा experience for lakhs of pilgrims visiting the Himalayan shrines every year.

The system was formally inaugurated in Haridwar by Transport Minister Pradeep Batra at Roshanabad, marking a significant upgrade in transport regulation for the yatra season.

Char Dham Yatra : What is the Green Card System

The Green Card system is a compulsory certification mechanism for all commercial vehicles operating on Char Dham routes. Under this system, vehicles must undergo strict checks to verify their roadworthiness, safety compliance, and technical fitness before being allowed to ferry passengers.

Key Objectives of the Initiative

The move focuses on addressing long-standing concerns related to difficult terrain and heavy यात्री traffic in Uttarakhand. The main goals include:

  • Ensuring technical fitness and regular inspection of vehicles
  • Enhancing passenger safety on hilly and high-risk routes
  • Enabling quick access to vehicle data during emergencies
  • Improving overall यातायात management during peak pilgrimage

Application Process for Vehicle Owners

Commercial vehicle owners can apply for the Green Card through the transport department’s official online portal. The process requires submission of vehicle-related documents along with payment of a prescribed fee. Only certified vehicles will be permitted to operate during the yatra period.

Boost to Pilgrim Safety and Management

Every year, lakhs of devotees travel to the sacred shrines of Kedarnath, Badrinath, Gangotri, and Yamunotri, making transport management a complex task for authorities. The introduction of this system is expected to significantly reduce risks associated with unfit vehicles and enhance emergency response mechanisms.

The initiative reflects Uttarakhand’s continued focus on modernising pilgrimage management while prioritising safety. By ensuring that only verified and roadworthy vehicles operate on these challenging routes, the government aims to provide a more secure, efficient, and hassle-free experience for all Char Dham pilgrims.

Veteran actor and BJP leader Mithun Chakraborty has spoken out on the controversy surrounding Dhurandhar 2 The Revenge being labelled as ‘propaganda’. He compared the film’s situation with his own 2025 release, The Bengal Files, which was never allowed to be released in Bengal. Mithun questioned why Dhurandhar 2 faced criticism only after hitting theatres.

Mithun Chakraborty Speaks Out On Dhurandhar 2 Propaganda Debate

Speaking to IANS, Mithun said, “The Bengal Files ko release hone nahi diya, isse badi kya baat karenge? Ab Dhurandhar ko bhi propaganda kehte, toh Dhurandhar ko bhi rok lete na? Dhurandhar release hui, aur ab aap kehte ho ki propaganda hai. Lekin The Bengal Files ka release tak nahi hone diya. Uske against mein jaake, film ko release tak hone nahi diya Bengal mein. Isse badi dukh ki baat kya ho sakti hai?”

He also highlighted that The Bengal Files, based on the Noakhali massacre, deals with historical events before Independence, yet it faced a full release ban.

About The Controversy

The controversy centres on claims that director Aditya Dhar used the film to push a political agenda before elections. Critics, including Congress and the Samajwadi Party, argue the movie presents topics like demonetisation and the Ram Janmabhoomi verdict in a one-sided way. YouTuber Dhruv Rathee called it “brain-rot propaganda,” accusing the film of promoting hatred through violence and stereotyping.

Supporters and the filmmakers insist the movie is a factual recount of historical events and intelligence operations. Former J&K DGP SP Vaid defended it, calling the film a depiction of “uncomfortable truths” about gangster-terrorist links and national security.

Despite the debate, Dhurandhar 2 has been a huge commercial success, crossing Rs 1,000 crore globally.
