Former US Model accuses Donald Trump of sexual assault

Before the presidential election in the US, Donald Trump is surrounded by an allegation.

Former model Amy Dorris has accused President Donald Trump of sexual assault. Amy Doris has alleged that Trumphas molested her during the US Open tennis tournament in New York two decades ago.

All allegations by 48-year-old former model Amy Doris have been dismissed by Donald Trump’s lawyer. He has stated that Trump has never misbehaved or even abused Amy Doris. But notably, Amy is the 25th woman to accuse Doris Trump of sexual abuse.

According to the American website The Guardian, Amy Doris said, “Donald Trump was forcibly kissing me and touching me in a wrong way. When I tried to take them away from me, they caught me even more vigorously. I was not able to get rid of myself even if I wanted to.”

Dorris has accused Trump of coercing him into the US Open Tennis Championship in 1997, nearly 23 years ago. In an interview to ‘The Guardian’, Doris has accused Trump of forcibly kissing him in the VIP box during the match and holding him very firmly that he didn’t even move for some time. She was able to.

Even before this, Trump has been facing allegations that Trump had dismissed. At the same time, Trump also denied the allegations. According to the report, Trump’s lawyers have claimed that the allegations were intended to tarnish his image ahead of the presidential election.

Nearly two decades after Doris, the allegations have raised questions from Trump’s lawyers on the front lane. However, Doris has said that she wants to be a role model for her daughters, so she has decided to come forward.

Kangana Ranaut says she is a ‘warrior’, Anurag Kashyap suggests her to protect border

Kangana Ranaut and Anurag Kashyap are at war of words ever since the nepotism debate intensified in Bollywood after the death of Sushant Singh Rajput. The actress, who is nowadays all over the social media, on Thursday, took to Twitter and said that she won’t bow down to enemies at any cost as she is a true warrior.

Kangana’s tweet read, “I am a warrior. I can allow my head to be severed, but won’t bow it. I will always raise my voice for the honour of my nation. I live with honour, respect, self-respect and will live proudly as a nationalist! I will never compromise with my principles. I will never do it! Jai Hind.”

Anurag Kashyap took a humorous dig at her tweet, saying with that attitude, she is capable of fighting at LAC with China.

He tweeted, “You are the only one, sister – the one true Manikarnika. Take four or five people with you and fight China. See how far inside our territory they’ve come. Show them that India has nothing to worry about until such time as you’re there to protect us. The LAC is just a day’s journey from your house. Go, our tigress. Jai Hind.”

Kangana was quick to respond to his sarcasm. “Ok I will go to the border, you go to the next Olympics, the country wants gold models..hahaha..it is not a B grade film where the artist becomes anything, you have started taking metaphor literally, how have you become so stupid?, you were very clever when we were friends,” she said in a tweet.

Anurag Kashyap further responding to her said “Your life has become a metaphor now. Everything is a metaphor. Every allegation is a metaphor. You have given so many metaphors on Twitter that the public has started calling the unemployed generator as your dialogue writer. Nobody knows better than you how to improvise.”

In response, Kangana Ranaut tweeted, “Oh!! I see you having an embarrassing meltdown here, hardly making any sense, anyway don’t want to make it worse, I step back, don’t feel bad friend please have hot haldi milk and go to sleep, tomorrow is a new day.”

https://twitter.com/KanganaTeam/status/1306625499045662721

Kangana, meanwhile, clarified herself later and said that she might come as a person who fights a lot but she is the never the one to start it. “I may come across as a very ladaku person but it’s not true, I have a record of never starting a fight, I will quit twitter if anyone can prove otherwise, I never start a fight but I finish every fight. Lord Krishna said when someone aks you to fight you mustn’t deny them,” she said.

Regulation required for Digital Media, not for Television: Centre tells SC

The Union Government approached the Supreme Court on Thursday to stop mandating guidelines on electronic media such as television, instead the court should embark the process, first on digital media including web portals and YouTube channels, it said.

In an affidavit filed on Thursday before a bench headed by justice DY Chandrachud, the Centre said that electronic media already have an existing framework governed by laws which was made clear in recent judgement of the court.

“This court may not undertake the exercise of laying down any further guidelines… it is desirable that if this court decides to undertake the exercise, it should first be undertaken with regard to digital media, as there already exists sufficient framework and judicial pronouncements with regard to electronic media and print media,” the government submitted.

The affidavit was filed against the show ‘Bindass Bol’ telecasted on Sudarshan news, which put a topic relating to the entry of Muslims in the civil services into spotlight. The show allegedly propagated the belief that Muslims were infiltrating the civil services as part of a huge conspiracy.

“Even if this court considers it appropriate to undertake the said exercise, there is no justification to confine this exercise only to mainstream electronic media. Digital media has faster reach from wider range of viewership / readership and has the potential to become viral because of several electronic applications like Whatsapp, Twitter (and) Facebook,” the affidavit stated.

“The issue the court had sought reply from the Central government was as to whether the specific programme in Sudarshan TV using specific expressions like ‘UPSC Jihad’ was permissible under the present legal framework and if not, what guidelines are required to be framed to avoid this occurrence in future. In this regard, the counter-affidavit appears to be evasive if not supportive of the broadcast of the programme in question. The question as to whether digital media has to be regulated or not was a non-issue before the court and ought not to have been gone into,” Supreme Court advocate Sriram Parakkat said.

Google removes ‘Paytm’ app from play store citing gambling policy

Google has pulled popular Indian financial services app Paytm from the Play Store for violating its gambling policies. Paytm is India’s most valued startup and has over 50 million monthly active users. Google said that Play Store prohibits online casinos and other unregulated gambling apps that facilitate sports betting in India. Paytm app repeatedly violated company’s policies.

The announcement from Google today is also a detterent attempt from the company to remind other developers about its gambling policies a day before the popular cricket tournament Indian Premier League (IPL) is scheduled to begin.

Sports betting is banned in India, but fantasy sports where users select their favorite players and win if their preferred team or players play well is not illegal in most Indian states.

“We have these policies to protect users from potential harm. When an app violates these policies, we notify the developer of the violation and remove the app from Google Play until the developer brings the app into compliance,” stated Suzanne Frey, Vice President, Product, Android Security and Privacy. “And in the case where there are repeated policy violations, we may take more serious action which may include terminating Google Play Developer accounts. Our policies are applied and enforced on all developers consistently,” she added.

Train Fares To Include “User Fee” At High Footfall Stations

  • Highlights:
  • Railways has a plan to collect user charges from passengers at congested stations
  • Railway Board Chairman said that ticket prices will be increased to provide better facilities to passengers
  • VK Yadav said that the user charge will be so low that passengers will not have trouble

The Indian Railways will soon start ‘user fees’ as part of train fares for the stations that have been redeveloped and those with high footfall in order to generate revenue to provide better facilities for passengers, Railway Board Chairman VK Yadav said Thursday.

CEO and chairman of Railway Board V.K Yadav said, “We will charge very small amount as user charge. We will issue a notification to collect user charges at stations which are being redelivered or have been redelivered.”

He said that as long as the redevelopment work of the stations continues, the amount recovered as user charge will be used to provide better facilities to the passengers at the stations. Yadav added that after the completion of redevelopment of stations, this amount will be offset by losses due to ticket concession.

User fee will have to be given at 700 to 750 railway stations.

He said that the user charge will be so low that passengers will not have trouble. Yadav said that this is necessary because Indian Railways is insisting on providing world class facilities to its passengers.

When he was asked whether the user fee would be charged at every railway station, Yadav said that there are 7 thousand railway stations in which only 10 to 15 percent stations will be charged. These 700 to 750 railway stations will be where congestion is expected to increase in the next five years.

A spokesperson of the Ministry of Railways said, “There will be no user fee compared to the facilities which will be increased at the stations.”

The process of collecting user charge will start gradually and will be applicable at 10 to 15 percent stations step by step. Railway Minister Piyush Goyal also confirmed this in a written reply in the Lok Sabha.

MIA, Bollywood urge Centre to unlock cinema halls

It’s been more than 6 months since coronavirus outbreak took over our lives, shutting down many businesses across the country. The Unlock phase, which is currently in motion, has brought hope for many industries. But one sector that continues to suffer is the cinema exhibition as it awaits Centre’s nod to resumes operations.

Multiplex Association of India (MAI) and various other theatre bodies have been constantly appealing ministries with detailed SOPs to allow them to continue their services, but haven’t received any positive reaction so far.

Cinema halls are close spaces with greater risk of infection and given the severity of pandemic, government’s decision to keep them shut only seems fair. However, it is also noteworthy that hundreds of thousands people have lost their source of income with the theatres being shut.

Amid this perplexed situation, Bollywood have jumped in the debate to rescue theatres and jobs. Abhishek Bachchan, Boney Kapoor, Richa Chadha, Anurag Kashyap, Manoj Bajpayee, Suniel Shetty,Anubhav Sinha among others have taken to their respective social media handles to appeal government to unlock cinema halls.

“Can’t wait. Popcorn, samosa and cold drink!!! The cheering, clapping, whistling and dancing. Best place on Earth!” Abhishek Bachchan tweeted.

Richa Chadha said, “#SaveCinemasSaveJobs and save lives! A projectionist has died by suicide due to financial reasons. This industry provides livelihood to thousands and entertainment to millions !”

https://twitter.com/RichaChadha/status/1305837064022306816

“#UnlockCinemaSaveJobs Dreams come to life at movies on the big screen. There are millions behind the screen who make that happen. Jobs are at stake. Can’t wait for cinemas to reopen!” mentioned Manoj Bajpayee.

Meanwhile, with cinema halls being shut, filmmakers have chosen OTT services as their preferred platform. Many mega budgets film including Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl, Shakuntala Devi, Gulabo Sitbao among others have already released online, ditching conventional theatrical release. Up next, Akshay Kumar starrer Laxmmi Bomb, Ishaan-Ananya’s Khaali Peeli are also scheduled to stream on OTT services.

Earlier, in May, the MIA had appealed to studio partners, producers, artistes, and content creators to support the cinema exhibition sector by holding their films and releasing them in theatres once they’re opened again.

IPL 2020: Australia and England players coming from UK will undergo just 36-hour quarantine in UAE

The 21 Australian and English players arriving at the UAE from the United Kingdom to take part in the 13th edition of the Indian Premier League, all of them will be in just 36 hours of quarantine instead of the earlier prescribed six days.

“Yes, I can confirm that all the English and Australian players have to now undergo 36-hour quarantine instead of six days. The matter has been sorted and most of the teams will now have their big stars available from the first game itself,” a senior IPL functionary privy to the development told PTI.

Steve Smith, David Warner, Jofra Archer, Jos Buttler will reach UAE on late Thursday night from the UK and on arrival and will undergo the COVID-19 test.

“They have undergone one rapid test before boarding (the flight) and will undergo another on arrival. Otherwise, the robust testing protocols will be followed as usual. The rationale behind the move is that all the players are entering from one bio-bubble to another,” the veteran BCCI official said.

“The BCCI did a great job in reducing the quarantine period to 36 hours. This means teams like Chennai Super Kings (Josh Hazlewood and Tom Curran), Rajasthan Royals (Smith, Buttler, Archer) will have all their players available from their first game. Ditto for Kings XI Punjab that has Glenn Maxwell in its roster and Delhi Capitals that has Alex Carry,” a franchise official said.

The special cell of the Delhi Police on September 16 filed a chargesheet under various sections of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, Arms Act and the Indian Penal Code (IPC) against 15 accused involved in the northeast Delhi riots in February. The chargesheet filed at a city court is over 10,000 pages.

The police have listed 747 witnesses and of them, 51 have recorded their statements under CRPC 164 (before the magistrate), news agency PTI reported.

According to the sources, those named in the charge sheet are Taahir Hussain, Mohd Parvez Ahmed, Mohd Illyas, Saifi Khalid, Ishrat Jahan, Miran Haider, Safoora Zargar, Asif Iqbal Tanha, Shahdab Ahmed, Natasha Narwal, Devangana Kalita, Tasleem Ahmed, Saleem Malik, Mohd Saleem Khan and Athar Khan.

The charge sheet filed today, however, does not have names of Umar Khalid and Sharjeel Imam as accused as they were arrested a few days ago. Their names will be included in the supplementary charge sheet.

Communal clashes had broken out in northeast Delhi in February, weeks after the Citizenship Amendment Act was passed by the Parliament, leaving at least 53 people dead and around 200 injured. In their attempt to prevent violence, 108 police personnel received injuries and two died.

So far, police have arrested 1,575 people in 751 cases. Over 250 chargesheets have been filed in the riots related cases in which 1,153 accused have been charge-sheeted.

IPL 2020: Batting order chaos for Delhi Capital

Delhi Capital, head coach Ricky Ponting said for the berths in the playing XI was getting intense as the league is coming closer. The 13th edition of the Indian Premier League will start on September 19.

Delhi Capitals will be up against the Kings XI Punjab in their starting match of the Indian Premier League 2020 in Dubai on September 20.

Delhi Capitals came in this season with some high-quality players. Captain Shreyas Iyer and the head coach Ricky Ponting are struggling in settling down the team line up.

“Counting down the days until we start our season on Sunday. The boys have been outstanding with their training and preparation and competition for spots in the starting eleven is certainly hot. Exactly what you want as a coach,” Ponting tweeted.

Shikhar Dhawan and Prithvi Shaw are definately the first choice openers for Delhi Capitals as the duo showed a marvellous performance last year.

Delhi’s side roped in Ajinkya Rahane, Marcus Stionis, Shimron Hatmeyr, Ravichandran Ashwin, and Jason Roy is also fit to play.

Looking onto the current form Jason Roy should be the prior choice for the opening slot for the team as he is in position of his career since the last year World Cup. The Australian star Marcus Stionis will be the key player in the middle order for the Delhi based franchise this year but still, there is uncertainty when it comes to position of his batting.
