The makers of Border 2 have unveiled the film’s second song “Ishq Da Chehra” and it brings a softer, more emotional turn to the much-awaited war drama. The track was unveiled on January 9, 2026. Unlike typical war songs, this one steps away from the battlefield. It focuses on love, longing, and emotional bonds.

Border 2 is set for a theatrical release soon. The film has been in the spotlight for weeks. With “Ishq Da Chehra”, the makers give audiences a look at the personal lives of soldiers. The song reminds viewers of what soldiers leave behind when they go to war.

The song is composed by Sachet-Parampara. The lyrics are written by Kausar Munir. Vocals are by Diljit Dosanjh, along with Sachet Tandon and Parampara Tandon. Makar Sankranti: India’s Railways department has announced the launch of 150 special trains to effectively manage big rush during the Makar Sankranti festival.

South Central Railways’s Chief Executive Officer A. Sridhar remarked that several special trains would get started to help individuals and families enjoy good times.

As the New Year begins, the Makar Sankranti festival is also approaching. Indian Railways has completed all preparations for it. On this occasion, South Central Railway has announced the operation of 150 special trains.

Indian Railways-Special Trains to Tirupati and Shirdi

Sridhar added that arrangements have made by South Central Railways for trains to the eastern, southern and northern parts of the country. The South Central Railways CEO added special trains would be introduced to connect Telugu states to Shirdi and Tirupati.

He further added that about 600 or more trains are presently being run for the benefit of commuters during the festival season. Sridhar added that South Central Railways’ special trains would also be linked to some of Maharashtra’s major railway stations.

Heavy Crowds Expected

Sridhar said heavy crowds are expected during the Makar Sankranti festival at the Secunderabad railway station. Moreover, reconstruction work is presently underway at the same railway station that may cause some inconvenience to passengers. He further remarked that Railway has decided to divert some important trains from Secunderabad to Kacheguda, Charlapalli and Lingampalli while also shifting some trains to other stations.

Bangladesh Unrest: The interim government of Bangladesh has asked its key diplomatic missions in India to suspend visa services temporarily with immediate effect, citing “security concerns.”

Foreign affairs adviser M Touhid Hossain said Bangladesh has asked its three missions in India to keep their visa sections closed for Indian citizens for the time being.

The remarks of Hossain came after the Deputy High Commissioner of Bangladesh in Kolkata restricted visa services overnight, following similar measures taken by the interim government of Bangladesh in Agartala and New Delhi.

However, work and business visas have remain unaffected. Diplomatic missions of Bangladesh in Chennai and Mumbai would continue to operate in India.

Is This A Result Of Bangladesh Unrest?

In recent days, Bangladesh has seen a flurry of attacks against minorities, especially against Hindus. Many Hindus were stabbed, burnt alive and raped that infuriated Indians. This also resulted in the BCCI asking KKR to drop Bangladesh pacer Mustafizur Rahman from its team.

After this, Bangladesh decided that its team would not play the 2026 T20 World Cup matches in India. The ICC denied Bangladesh’s request and told them that they can either forfeit their matches or play in India.

Bangladesh Begs For US bonds

In another development, Hossain said the country has approached the United States to seek a reversal of a visa bond requirement. The U.S. State Department recently added Bangladesh and its citizens would now need to pay $5,000, $10,000, or $15,000 bonds before the US visa could be issued. Under the latest laws, the bonds are to be reimbursed under a stringent condition that the individual departs the United States before their visa expires, is denied entry or does not travel to the United States.

Travellers under this program force individuals to enter and exit USA only from three airports – John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) in New York, Boston Logan International Airport (BOS) and Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD) outside of Washington, DC.

Jana Nayagan has finally cleared its biggest roadblock. The Madras High Court has ruled in favour of the makers of the Thalapathy Vijay-starrer. The court has directed the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) to immediately issue a U/A 16+ certificate.

This order clears the way for the film’s release. At the same time, the court strongly criticised the censor body. It called the CBFC’s handling of the issue a “dangerous trend”.

The verdict was delivered on Thursday by Justice PT Asha. The judge heard arguments from both sides before passing the order. The ruling has brought major relief to the team behind Jana Nayagan. The film was postponed at the last minute even after it had cleared the initial censor process.

The makers have not yet announced a new release date. However, reports suggest the film could be released in the next few days. Another option is a Pongal release on January 14.

According to Live Law, the Madras High Court on Friday, January 9, directed the CBFC to forthwith grant a U/A certificate to the Vijay-starrer. The film was originally set to release on January 9. Its release was stopped after a complaint claimed that some scenes hurt religious sentiments.

Jana Nayagan Censor Row: What The High Court Said

While delivering the verdict, Justice PT Asha made her stand very clear. She said the complaint had no strong basis. The judge observed, “After examining materials, it is crystal clear that the complainant’s grievance appears to be an afterthought.”

The court also issued a warning. It said that entertaining such late complaints could set a bad precedent. According to the court, this would encourage a “dangerous trend.” This becomes more serious when films have already gone through the required certification steps.

The producers explained the full timeline before the court. KVN Productions, represented by Venkata K. Narayana, stated that the CBFC’s regional office had sent a letter on December 22. The letter said the examining committee had recommended a U/A certificate.

The approval came with a few cuts and modifications. The makers complied with all the changes. The film was then resubmitted.

On December 29, the regional office confirmed that Jana Nayagan would receive a U/A certificate. However, the situation changed suddenly. On January 5, the producers received an email from the CBFC. It said the film would be sent to the revising committee under Rule 24 of the Cinematograph Certification Rules. This decision was based on the complaint.

This last-minute move forced the makers to approach the Madras High Court.

About This Thalapathy Vijay Starrer

Directed by H Vinoth, Jana Nayagan is a Tamil-language political action thriller set for release in 2026. The film is produced by KVN Productions. It is being promoted as Vijay’s final film before he fully enters politics.

Vijay is expected to focus on his party, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), after the film’s release. This has added more attention to the project.

US Attack On Greenland: United States President Donald Trump has reignited global tensions by announcing his plans to get Denmark’s Greenland, a mineral-rich Arctic territory. This has raised alarms about a potential military move by the United States that could possibly shatter the unity of North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO).

As Trump pushes an “America First” agenda in 2026, many in Europe are getting confused and worried.

US Vice President JD Vance remarked that Trump is “serious” in his pursuit to bring Greenland under laws of the United States.

The Greenland Obsession of Donald Trump-US Attack On Greenland

The fixation of Trump on Greenland possibly dates to his first term when he became conscious of the rare earth minerals of the region that are vital for technology and defence. Moreover, the strategic Arctic positioning of Greenland against China and Russia makes the region a priority for Trump.

Recently, the White House said it is exploring “possible options” to get Greenland. The Trump administration is presently considering the idea of paying between $10,000 and $100,000 per person to convince the residents of Greenland to secede from Denmark and join the United States. However, both Greenland and Denmark have refused any offer by Trump. In a January 2025 opinion poll, more than 85 percent of Greenlanders said they don’t want to get separated from Denmark to become a part of the United States.

Interestingly, the Danish defence ministry has ordered its military troops to “shoot first, ask questions later” in case any attempts are made by Trump’s troops to forcibly capture Greenland. The rule allows soldiers to act without seeking or waiting for orders even if their commanders are not made aware of the state of war or declaration of war.

The 75-year-old history of NATO hinges primarily on the dominance of USA, with the country footing a significant majority of the bill for European defence. The rhetoric of Trump calling allies “delinquent” on spending have not gone well with many in power, including those in France and Denmark. If Trump makes any efforts to forcibly capture Greenland, Article 5 mutual defence wouldn’t apply internally, but Denmark could exit, fracturing the pact.

USA has hinted many times that it wants to buy and not invade Greenland. The United States may try muscle tactics such as increased tariffs on Danish goods or may cut aids to the country, echoing the Venezuela playbook of Donald Trump.

Many military experts are of the view that Trump may escalate Thule air base presence and invade Greenland via annexation pretext. This may put the entire Europe in a gridlock leading to massive nationwide protests across Europe.

Dhurandhar Breaks Records

Since its theatrical release on December 5, 2025, Dhurandhar has shattered several box office records. According to Sacnilk, the film has earned over Rs 790.25 cr in India alone.

Directed by Aditya Dhar, Dhurandhar is a Hindi-language spy action thriller that follows a decade-long Indian intelligence operation. The story revolves around Hamza, played by Ranveer Singh, who infiltrates Pakistan’s Lyari underworld to dismantle an ISI-terrorist network. The narrative incorporates real-life geopolitical events such as the 1999 IC-814 hijacking and the 2008 Mumbai attacks.

The film’s ensemble cast includes Sanjay Dutt as SP Chaudhary Aslam, Akshaye Khanna as the antagonist Rehman Dakait, and R Madhavan as a National Security Advisor inspired by Ajit Doval. Other key roles are portrayed by Arjun Rampal, Sara Arjun and Rakesh Bedi. Despite the film’s immense success, its 214-minute runtime drew criticism for being one of the longest Indian films ever produced.

Dhurandhar Controversies And Sequel

Dhurandhar also sparked controversies. It faced a de facto ban in Gulf countries for its ANTI-PAKISTAN storyline. Who are Prerna and Bala Bachchan?

Prerna Bachchan, the daughter of Madhya Pradesh Home Minister Bala Bachchan, was in a Tata Nexon (registration number MP13 ZS 8994) that crashed into an unidentified vehicle around 5:15 am on Tejaji Nagar bypass. One woman was injured while three occupants died on the spot.

Prerna was travelling along with Anushka Rathi, daughter of Kaushalendra Rathi, who was left severely injured. Prakhar Kasliwal, a resident of Tilak Nagar and the son of State Congress spokesperson, and transport businessman Man Sandhu died on the spot.

Madhya Pradesh Police is trying to find the exact reason behind the car accident.

Directed by Aditya Dhar, the Ranveer Singh and Akshaye Khanna starrer has completed another strong week in cinemas. Despite low footfalls and reduced shows, the film has managed to stay relevant and profitable. Its performance in Week 5 has now become a talking point in trade circles.

Dhurandhar Box Office Collection Day 35

According to box office data reported by Sacnilk, Dhurandhar earned an estimated Rs 4.25 crore on Day 35. This figure matched its Wednesday collection, showing a rare sense of stability for a film running in its fifth week. The Hindi-only release recorded an overall occupancy of 10.81 per cent, which is considered solid at this stage of its theatrical run.

This consistency helped Dhurandhar push its Week 5 total beyond the Rs 50 crore mark. With a total of Rs 51.25 crore collected in its fifth week, the film has now created a new Bollywood record.

Dhurandhar has officially recorded the highest Week 5 collection ever for a Hindi film. It has comfortably beaten Vicky Kaushal’s Chhaava, which previously held the record with earnings of Rs 30 crore in its fifth week. The difference is massive. Dhurandhar crossed Rs 33.25 crore within just its fifth weekend and ended the week far ahead.

Ironically, Week 5 is also the film’s lowest-performing week so far. However, trade experts point out that this drop was expected. Unlike many films that exit theatres within a month, Dhurandhar has continued to enjoy screen space due to sustained demand and lack of strong competition.

Mamata Banerjee: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has approached the High Court (HC) against West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.

ED accused Mamata of obstructing the ongoing money laundering investigation. It said the search operations were going peacefully and professionally before Mamata arrived to the scene along with senior police officials. ED raided the residence of Pratik Jain, the chief of I-Pac. It was alleged by ED that Mamata forcibly took away key evidences including electronic devices and physical documents.

What Was Mamata Banerjee Hiding?

ED remarked that the investigation uncovered links between hawala operators and the coal smuggling network running into tens of crores of rupees.

ED claimed that one hawala operator had facilitated a series of transactions to a political consultancy firm associated with the ruling TMC – Indrapac Consulting Private Limited (I-PAC).

It was further claimed by the ED that the searchers were not targeted at any political establishment in the country and were evidence-based in nature, with no relation to the upcoming West Bengal elections.

Mamata replied that the Central Government has been abusing government agencies like always. She added ED officials were confiscating party hard disks, laptops, mobile phones and documents containing sensitive political data. Mamata termed the ED raid as unconstitutional and politically motivated.

Mamata’s actions drew immediate criticism from the Bhartiya Janata Party and the CPI (M) that accused the Bengal CM of destroying evidence. West Bengal BJP president Samik Bhattacharya said Mamata obstructed government officials and destroyed evidence with a clear attempt to hide the accused persons.

Suvendu Adhikari, the leader of opposition in the West Bengal assembly, demanded courts to step in and legal action against Mamata. Suvendu added this is not the first time that Mamata had interfered in the job of a central investigating agency. Previously, Mamata had interfered at the CBI office at Nizam Palace and during raids at the former Kolkata CP Rajeev Kumar’s residence.

Senior CPI(M) leader Mohammed Salim said the CM should be arrested. Salim accused Mamata of hiding evidence of alleged vote manipulation.
