Sharing details during a press conference, Cabinet Minister Lal Chand Kataruchak said that the state is fully prepared with adequate infrastructure and financial support in place.

Bhagwant Mann: Extensive Procurement Network in Place

The government has set up a widespread procurement system to facilitate farmers. A total of 1,897 mandis are already operational, while 267 temporary mandis have been arranged to handle the expected influx of wheat arrivals during the peak season.

Officials stated that these arrangements aim to reduce congestion and ensure timely procurement without inconvenience to farmers.

MSP Increased to Benefit Farmers

Farmers will receive a Minimum Support Price (MSP) of ₹2,585 per quintal for wheat this season, which is ₹160 higher than last year. The increase is expected to provide better returns and financial stability to farmers amid rising input costs.

The initiative aligns with the broader agricultural support policies under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann.

Financial Readiness Ensured

To support procurement operations, ₹30,973 crore has already been made available under the Cash Credit Limit (CCL) for the month of April. This ensures that payments to farmers can be made promptly without delays.

Focus on Farmer Convenience

The state government emphasized that all logistical, administrative, and financial arrangements have been streamlined to make the procurement process efficient and farmer-friendly. Special attention has been given to ensuring timely lifting, storage, and payment mechanisms.

With preparations in place, Punjab is set to begin one of its most crucial agricultural operations, reinforcing its role as a key contributor to India’s food grain procurement system.

Dwarka Expressway: Toll Hike From Tomorrow, Can The Average Man Now Afford Cab Rides?

Dwarka Expressway

Dwarka Expressway: The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) would be revising Bijwasan Plaza toll rates with effect from April 1, 2026. This would make cab drives on the Dwarka Expressway costlier for the common man.

An official for the NHAI remarked that an increase of 2-5 percent has been made by the NHAI across different vehicle categories. The official added that the revision is a part of the annual toll rationalization exercises by the authority in accordance with the wholesale price index of the Union Government.

Dwarka Expressway-Revised Toll Rates

The existing rates for private car’s single and double journeys have been revised from Rs. 220 and Rs. 330 to Rs. 225 and Rs. 340. On the other hand, car monthly pass (50 trip) and local monthly pass rates have been revised from Rs. 7360 and Rs. 340 to Rs. 7550 and Rs. 350 while the rates of LCV/cab single and return journeys have been revised from Rs. 355 and Rs. 535 to Rs. 365 and Rs. 550.

The toll rates for LCV monthly pass (5 trips), bus/truck (2-axle, single), bus/truck (2-axle, return) and 3-axle vehicle (single) and oversized vehicle (single) have been revised to Rs. 12195, Rs. 765, Rs. 1150, Rs. 835 and Rs. 1465, respectively.

Costly Cab Rides

The toll price revisions came just a few months after the entire process of toll collection started in November last year at the plaza. Several daily commuters have remarked that the toll price revisions would significantly push up travel costs for them. Cab drives across the expressway would now be the most costly and the financial burden would be shifted to the consumers.

Local residents have complained about the lack of public transport facilities in the area. Many have complained that they have paid exorbitant prices for homes near the expressway and yet the concept of public transport is completely missing.

The ongoing tensions between the US, Israel and Iran are now affecting Bollywood in a big way. After Shah Rukh Khan’s King faced a schedule change, another major film has been impacted. The Dubai shoot of Akshay Kumar starrer Welcome To The Jungle has been cancelled due to the situation.

This sudden decision has raised questions about the film’s release timeline. While the makers are making quick changes, the shift shows how global issues can affect even big-budget films.

Welcome To The Jungle Dubai Shoot Cancelled Amid US-Israel-Iran Conflict

Reports suggest that director Ahmed Khan and the cast were set to travel to Dubai for a grand song shoot. The sequence was planned on a large scale and included actors like Raveena Tandon, Paresh Rawal, Disha Patani, Arshad Warsi, Jacqueline Fernandez, and Lara Dutta.

However, due to the ongoing conflict, the team decided to cancel the Dubai schedule. The song will now be shot in Mumbai instead. To match the original vision, the makers are building detailed sets.

A source revealed, “Elaborate sets will be put up in Madh Island, Golden Tobacco Studio, and Film City in Goregaon. Created by production designer Sailesh Mhadik, the sets will depict nightclubs, casinos, and private jets. Ahmed and producer Firoz A. Nadiadwallah essentially imagined it as a glamorous song that shows how the rich live the good life. That’s why Dubai would have been the perfect location. The unit waited for a month for things to settle down there, but when they didn’t, they shifted the location.”

Ahmed Khan confirmed that the shoot will start from April 15 in Mumbai. He said it will be a glamorous song featuring the full cast.

Will This Akshay Kumar Starrer Release As Planned?

Welcome To The Jungle has been in the making for a long time. The main shooting was completed in December last year. The film is currently set to release on June 26, 2026.

Even after the Dubai schedule was cancelled, the makers are trying to stay on track. However, last-minute changes can affect timelines. It is still unclear whether the release date will remain the same.

The film is the third part of the Welcome franchise. It does not include original stars Nana Patekar and Anil Kapoor, but it still has a huge cast. Fans are especially excited to see Akshay Kumar and Raveena Tandon reunite after many years.

The film also features Suniel Shetty, Jackie Shroff, Rajpal Yadav, Johnny Lever, Shreyas Talpade, and many others.

The story will follow an action-packed journey set in a jungle, mixed with comedy and adventure.

Isfahan Ammunition Depot Attack: US Drops 2000 Pound Bomb, Trump Proudly Shares Video! Why Donald Trump Bombed Iran’s Arsenal Hub?

Isfahan Ammunition Depot Attack: A large ammunition depot in Isfahan in Iran has been hit by US-Israeli joint strikes with 2000-pound penetrator munitions or bunker busters.

Isfahan Ammunition Depot Attack-Trump Shares Video

United States President Donald Trump posted a gripping video of the strike on social media. According to US military officials, Isfahan is the nerve centre for the military machine of Tehran and the home for drones, missiles, suicide boats, ballistic missiles and conventional ammunition that have been used on Israel and allies of the United States.

Satellite images that were taken just before the US Israel Iran war in June 2025 had suggested that the Islamic Republic of Iran transferred a truckload of highly enriched uranium to its Isfahan nuclear facility. This was after an Airbus Defence and Space Pleiades Neo satellite images showed a truck fully loaded with 18 blue containers proceeding into a tunnel on June 9, 2025.

Francois Diaz-Maurin, an analyst with the Bulletin of Atomic Scientists, had then remarked that it is likely that Tehran may have transferred highly enriched uranium stockpile to Isfahan.

Strategic Importance Of Isfahan

Isfahan is home to 2.3 million people and is strategically important for the military as well as nuclear-linked infrastructure of the Islamic Republic of Iran. The city is believed to be associated with the nuclear program of Iran and the Badr military airbase.

According to eyewitnesses, a series of highly powerful secondary explosions were heard after the initial strikes. Shockwaves and fireballs were seen across many parts of the Iranian city. Last year, the city was targeted under Operation Midnight Hammer by the United States.

In another development, Iran’s Islamic Republic Guard Corps (IRGC) has claimed that it has shot down a US-made MQ-9 Reaper long-range unmanned aerial vehicle that was operating over the city of Isfahan. It was claimed by the IRGC that the drone was unsuccessful in breaching the advanced air defence of Iran and was timely intercepted before it was destroyed.

Veteran playback singer Alka Yagnik, known for her timeless voice and decades-long dominance in Bollywood music, is currently battling a serious health condition that has impacted her career. The singer, who started training in classical music at a very young age, recently opened up about her ongoing struggle with hearing loss caused by a viral attack.

Alka Yagnik Hearing Loss: Singer Says ‘Still Suffering’

In a recent interview, Alka Yagnik shared that she is still dealing with the effects of her condition. She confirmed that the illness has prevented her from taking up new singing assignments.

She said to NDTV, “Composers approach me now and then. But I am not able to do it.”

The singer also admitted that she is “still suffering”, though she chose not to go into further details about her health. Her statement highlights how deeply the condition has affected her professional life.

The issue dates back to 2024, when Alka Yagnik revealed she had been diagnosed with sensorineural hearing loss (SNHL), a rare condition. According to medical experts, this type of hearing loss is usually caused by damage to the inner ear or nerve pathways. In her case, it was triggered by a viral infection.

She recalled that the problem started suddenly after a flight, when she realised she could not hear properly. The condition came as a shock and forced her to step away from the spotlight.

Singer Had Earlier Warned Fans About Health Risks

In her earlier statement, Alka Yagnik also used her experience to warn fans and young artists about the risks associated with the profession. She highlighted how constant exposure to loud music and headphones can harm hearing over time.

In her note, she wrote, “I attempt to come to terms with it. Please keep me in your prayers. For my fans and young colleagues, I would add a word of caution regarding exposure to very loud music and headphones. One day, I wish to share the health perils of my professional life. With all your love and support, I am hoping to recalibrate my life and come back to you soon. Your support and understanding will mean the world to me in this critical hour.”

Despite her health struggles, Alka Yagnik continues to rank among the most-streamed singers worldwide. In fact, she topped global YouTube charts in 2022 with over 15 billion streams, and her songs still attract millions of listeners every week.

Her voice was last heard in Diljit Dosanjh and Parineeti Chopra’s Netflix film Amar Singh Chamkila (2024), directed by Imtiaz Ali, where she sang “Naram Kaalja”, composed by AR Rahman.

Over the years, she has delivered countless hits such as “Ek Din Aap”, “Gali Mein Chand”, “Tip Tip Barsa Paani”, “Agar Tum Saath Ho”, “Chura Ke Dil Mera”, “Mera Dil Bhi Kitna Pagal Hai”, “Ae Mere Humsafar” and “Chaand Chupa Baadal Mein”.

Viral Video: “Garibo Ko Thapad, Ameero Ke Chochle”, Netizens Blast Influencer Couple’s Ring Ceremony Video At Vrindavan’s Banke Bihari Temple

Viral Video: A recent viral video from Banke Bihari Temple in Vrindavan has ignited a fierce debate about VVIP culture in India’s places of worship.

Viral Video-Turn Of Events

In the now viral video, an influencer couple could be seen holding a ring ceremony inside the VVIP area of the Banke Bihari Temple in a curated, staged atmosphere. For many viewers, the issue is not about the actions of one couple but more about a growing discomfort with how social media culture, lack of civic sense, illiteracy, show-off, privilege and drama in the name of spirituality are colliding in some of the country’s most sacred spaces.

Many netizens asked when temples became backdrops for personal branding and blamed the fall of standards among people for such nuisance and activities.

Social Media Comments

A social media user commented, “Temples used to be where everyone stood equal. Now it feels like airport boarding zones. Economy devotees wait for hours, Business class devotees inside with full access.” Another user said, “Funny how humility is preached inside temples, but entitlement is practiced outside the sanctum. VIP entry has become more important than devotion itself.”

A user remarked, “Influencers have truly unlocked a new level. From cafes to beaches to now temples. Content ke liye kuch bhi karega. Even spirituality isn’t off-limits anymore.” Another commented, “Imagine standing in line for hours, and then seeing someone walk in for a private ceremony. Faith is equal, but access clearly isn’t. That’s the real problem here.” A user commented, “Today it’s a ring ceremony, tomorrow maybe pre-wedding shoots in the garbhagriha. Where do we draw the line? Or have we already crossed it?” Another said, “VIP culture in temples is the most ironic thing. The one place where status shouldn’t matter, is exactly where it matters the most. Kya irony hai.”

Israel Death Penalty Law: Fury Over Knesset Fatal Law! Controversial Law Eyes Palestinian Lives, Rights Groups Scream

Israel Death Penalty Law

Israel Death Penalty Law: A controversial law that allows Israel to punish Palestinians convicted of deadly attacks against Israelis has been passed by Israel’s parliament, the Knesset. The controversial bill that is backed by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was approved in the Israeli Parliament by a 62-48 vote.

The passed law would make capital punishment the default sentence for such cases in military courts. Under the law, execution has to be carried out within a definitive timeframe.

Israel Death Penalty Law-Opposed By Palestine And Europe

Several European governments, Palestinian leaders and human rights groups have condemned passage of the bill, saying it may violate international laws while escalating tensions in the already-tense region.

The foreign ministers of Italy, Germany, France and the United Kingdom expressed their concerns over the Israel death penalty law. In a statement that was shared collectively by the German Federal Foreign Office, it was remarked that we are worried about the bill’s de facto discriminatory character.

USA Supports Israel

The United States has remarked that the rights of Israel to set its own laws are duly respected. A spokesperson for the US State Department remarked that USA respects the sovereign right of Israel of determining its own penalties and laws for individuals who would be convicted of terrorism.

The spokesperson further added that the United States completely trust that any such measures and processes would be performed with a fair trial while respecting all applicable fair trial protections and guarantees.

According to the bill, people in the West Bank region who kill any Israeli with an intention of negating the existence of the Israeli state would face the capital punishment (death penalty). Championed by Israel’s National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir, the bill would put an end to the atrocities committed by West Bank residents against Israelis.

‘Jiske Baap Ne Dharam Badal Liya…’ Meghna Gulzar Mercilessly Trolled After Harinder Sikka Accuses Her Of Distorting Original Story In Alia Bhatt’s Raazi

Meghna Gulzar Alia Bhatt Raazi

The debate around Raazi has returned years after its release, and it is now trending online. The film starred Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal, and was directed by Meghna Gulzar. While the film was a big success in 2018, it has once again come under criticism.

Author Harinder Sikka, who wrote the book Calling Sehmat, has again raised concerns about the film. He believes that the movie changed the core idea of his story. His recent post went viral and started a fresh debate online.

Meghna Gulzar Once Again Faces Backlash After Harinder Sikka Slams Her

Harinder Sikka shared a strong statement on social media. He wrote, “Calling Sehmat #Raazi ranks among the top books on espionage ever written, globally. It exposes Pakistan across border, hostile forces in Bollywood & a Punjab-based criminals within. Appointing Meghna Gulzar was my gravest misjudgment. Despite clear warnings, I failed to foresee how ideological bias would end up diminishing the true spirit of the protagonist.”

After this, many users reacted online. Some supported Sikka and criticised Meghna Gulzar. The reactions quickly turned into heavy trolling.

Read some comments below:

“Very few dare to speak against such cabals. Harinder ji, you deserve kudos for exposing them.”

“Meghna Gulzar is Muslim, didn’t you know that? Her family also originates from Pakistan. So she is bound to be biased towards them, it’s a shame that woman cannot give us the facts.”

“Tell Aditya Dhar to make another movie on the same book to expose Meghna Gulzar.”

“People like @meghnagulzar who are spreading Pakistani propaganda through their films should be banned from filmmaking in this country.”

“Why not drag that pathetic and disgusting rat to the court for intentional distortion?”

“Jiske baap ne dharam badal liya sardar se mulla ban gaya. You trusted his daughter. That was a red flag if you noticed. She is already a failed director.”

Amid this, one user suggested remaking the film. The comment read, “Let’s remake, sir. Yami is perfectly capable artist to bear the weight. The real story needs to be heard by everyone without any manipulation or biases. We will support the GoFundMe campaign. Kindly consider.”

Replying to this, Sikka said, “Sir, I don’t need money. Check up my background. But thanks for your offer. Indeed Yami is a great actor. Her best is yet to come.”

About Raazi And What Sparked The Debate

Raazi tells the story of a young Kashmiri woman named Sehmat who becomes an undercover agent for India before the 1971 war. She gets married into a Pakistani family and secretly passes important information to India. The story shows both her bravery and her emotional struggles.

However, Harinder Sikka has pointed out several differences between his book and the film. According to him, the original story shows Sehmat as strong and proud, while the film presents her as more emotional and broken.

He also said that some important scenes were removed. One such moment includes Sehmat showing respect to the Indian flag. Sikka believes these changes reduced the impact of the original story.

Interestingly, this debate comes at a time when spy films are again popular. The success of Dhurandhar 2 The Revenge, directed by Aditya Dhar, has brought fresh attention to the genre.

Viral Video: Hunter Gets Hunted! Octopus Encircles Fisherman’s Face in the Middle of Ocean, Watch What Happens Next

Viral-Video
Google

A fish-hunting fisherman becomes the hunted in this shocking, dramatic video that has gone viral. The dramatic nature of the video has caused people to talk about animals’ behaviors in oceans around the world.

Sudden Attack in the Deep Blue Ocean

This incident happened on the open ocean, where he was bringing in fish from a small boat. He brought up a big octopus when, suddenly, without thinking, the octopus jumped onto his head to protect itself and then wrapped its tentacles around his head so he couldn’t see or breathe.

25 Seconds of Intense Struggle

For twenty-five seconds, the fisherman wrestled with an octopus, trying to get free. He used his gloved hands to pull the tentacles off, but they clung tightly to him with their powerful suction forces. While they fought, the octopus also released black ink that covered the fisherman’s face and upper body.

The fisherman also had to deal with being on a rocking boat in open water, but he held his balance and continued to fight to get the octopus off.

After a lengthy struggle, the fisherman was finally able to pull the octopus off his face. Although he was covered in ink, suction marks, and obviously shaken from the fight, the fisherman had no visible injuries. The fisherman then held the living octopus to show what had happened to him after the weird event.

Why Do Octopuses Do This?

According to experts, octopuses are very intelligent creatures and use various defensive techniques (ink release and using their strong suction capabilities) to defend themselves when threatened. The octopus acted in this way because it was reacting instinctively in a survival situation rather than attacking the fisherman.

Nalanda Stampede: 8 Dead, 6 Injured At Bihar’s Sheetalashtami Temple, Why Is Crowd Safety Still A Challenge In India?

Nalanda Stampede

Nalanda Stampede: At least 12 people were left injured and 8 died after a stampede broke out because of overcrowding around the premises of the Sheetla Mata Temple. The temple is located under Dipnagar Police Station of Nalanda in Bihar.

Nalanda Stampede-Turn Of Events

Large number of devotees had gathered at the temple as it was the last day of the Hindu Chaitra month.

Suddenly, chaos broke out triggering a stampede. As people tried to desperately escape the chaos, several women were left trapped in the rush and lost their lives after being crushed.

Senior district officials including the Sub Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) immediately rushed to the temple premises after learning about the accident.

About Sheetalashtami Temple

The temple is situarted in Maghra Village that is about 5 kilometres away from Nalanda (Bihar Sharif). Devotees gather in large numbers on Asthami (Shitla Ashtami) of Chaitra month’s Krishna Paksha. The stove is not lit in the houses in the adjoining areas as it is a tradition on the auspicious day of Sheetla Asthami.

Nalanda Stampede-Why Is Crowd Safety Still A Challenge In India?

From political rallies to temple festivals and railway stations, crowd-related disasters are quite common across India. One of the biggest reasons behind a series of stampedes in India is the lack of civic sense in the country.

People openly flout rules and regulations. Moreover, festivals in the country attract thousands and even millions of devotees within a short time-frame with each trying hands to be the first and fastest to reach the premises.

Also, a majority of religious sites in the country, especially those in smaller towns and villages, were never designed or are equipped to handle massive crowds. Lack of barricading, narrow entry and exit points, illiteracy and absence of designated pathways often turn minor issues into life-endangering situations.
