Republic Day 2021: wishes and quotes

The country is celebrating 72nd Republic Day today. Every year in India, this mahaparva of democracy is celebrated with great pomp and grand manner. But this time due to Corona, many changes will be seen in the Republic Day celebrations.

Republic Day is celebrated every year on 26 January to commemorate the day the Constitution of India came into effect. Even though we had gained independence on 15 August, 1947, nascent India did not have its own laws which were drafted and finally adopted in the year 1950.

Republic Day main celebration is held at the Rajpath in the national capital, New Delhi, before the President of India. On this day, ceremonious parades take place at the Rajpath, which are performed as a tribute to India; its unity in diversity and rich cultural heritage.

On the occasion of Republic Day, schools and colleges also organise functions at their campus like – debate, speech, essay competitions etc.

This year on account of the coronavirus, the festivities of Republic Day may be dampened but the spirit will be as strong as ever, and everyone with bask in patriotism with pride.

Significance of Republic Day:

After gaining independence from the British rule, the new constitution was drafted by the drafting committee helmed by Dr.BR Ambedkar. The Indian Constitution came into effect on 26 January1950, which affirmed India’s existence as an independent republic. January 26th was chosen as the date because on this day in 1930, the Indian National Congress proclaimed Purna Swaraj, the declaration of India’s independence from the colonial rule.

Pant: Separated myself from outside world before the Australian series

Indian wicket-keeper Rishabh Pant, who had shut down critics by batting brilliantly in Australia, has said that he separated himself from the rest of the world before the series. Against one of the all-time best bowling units in the cricket world, Pant played a key role in helping India win the four-match series 2–1 by batting brilliantly in the Sydney and Brisbane Tests.

“I was feeling the heat each and every day, it’s part and parcel of the game. But as an individual you need to believe in yourself,” Pant, as quoted saying by ‘India Today’ .

“If you’re moving forward then you’re improving, this is what I’ve learnt during the tough phase. Focus so much on your game that you don’t notice anything else. It’s difficult also to block the outside noise because of social media but I have segregated myself from it.

“When you’re doing well people will write good but when you’re not, they will criticize you. It’s part and parcel of a cricketer’s life nowadays. So if you don’t focus on the criticism and instead focus on your cricket then that’s much better I guess, “he added.

Tata venture looking forward to introduce Moderna’s covid-19 vaccine in India

After the approval of the Covid-19 vaccine in India, the biggest vaccination campaign started and as of now, nearly 16 lakh people have been vaccinated. Moving forward in the same direction, there is a buzz that Tata Group’s healthcare venture is in the initial discussions with Moderna Inc of partnership to launch its Covid-19 vaccine in India.

There is a big possibility that the Tata Medical & Dignostics could team up with the India’s Council and Industrial Research to initialize the clinical trials of Morderna’s Vaccine in India as reported by the officals speculating about it.

Unlike Pfizer’s vaccine, which must be kept at minus 70 degrees Celsius or below, Moderna’s can be stored at normal fridge temperatures, making it more suited for poorer countries such as India where cold chains are limited.

Data released in November from Moderna’s late-stage study showed it was 94.1% effective with no serious safety concerns. The shot was approved for use in the United States in December and in Europe earlier this month.

It gave emergency-use approval to a vaccine by Bharat Biotech and state-run Indian Council of Medical Research and another licensed from Oxford University and AstraZeneca that is being produced by the Serum Institute.

India has the world’s second highest COVID-19 caseload after the United States, but daily cases have been declining since hitting a peak in September.

India’s drugs controller has said the overall efficacy of the AstraZeneca vaccine, locally branded COVISHIELD, was 70.42% based on trials done overseas, but the approval for Bharat Biotech’s COVAXIN has faced criticism due to the lack of efficacy data.
